The eggplant meatballs are the most amazing.
Very lovely place. The restaurant is divided into small rooms so the ambiance is very enjoyable and calming.
I made reservations for 8 and got there early and they were able to seat us. I had been there once before as I live out of town and Rocky came to our table and seemed to remember me. He made us feel so special by serving the wine and suggesting entrees which were amazing. The Tuna appetizer was spectacular. Both pasta dishes were prepared perfect. All of the staff went out of their way to make our dining experience so memorable. It will be my go-to while in NYC! Thank you to all
Everything was great, as always. So glad to have a place that has reliably fantastic food and is so knowledgeable about celiac and gluten intolerance.
Not super special, but decent.
Fresh ingredients and friendly staff make for great experience!
Excellent bread, pizza and pasta. Great value. Place is a must for italian. We did not have any dessert because no room after the delicious dishes.
We were delighted with the service and the food - wonderful dishes, well-prepared and very nice service!!!
Some of the best Italian food we've tried. I'm not gluten free but my husband is and we got the gluten free pizza and it was the pizza I've ever tried. The crust was perfect. The gnocchi was delicious as well!
Amazing food especially pizzas
Amazing food. This was my second time there (food just as good!!) The waiter wasn’t very attentive... but we let it go because of the food quality. Maybe it was just because it was a Monday night and not a weekend that service was off...
Food and service was very good. Unfortunately the table near us was unbearably loud and noisy. It really ruined our experience. Still like the restaurant
The food was great, and the service was super friendly. So glad we found this place! Will definitely be coming again.
Always great food and service! The eggplant meatballs are delicious and deceptive- so hearty. Love the pastas and authentic Neapolitan pizzas.
Found this place on Google maps looking for something in this neighborhood for a friend's get-together. Checked it out on Yelp and decided it looked amazing. It is! Incredible hand-crafted cocktails and phenomenal food; so good I went back the very next night.
Great Italian options for pasta, seafood, meat and pizza. Been there a number of times always very good and consistent.
The food was delicious, I liked the ambiance, music the attention. I can’t wait to go again.
You really won't believe the delicious gluten free pizza curst is gluten free. Best crust with a slightly burned oven char and the bite of gluten. Really, well done kitchen!!!
Our waiter mentioned people often want to send back their "gluten free" versions thinking the kitchen messed up the order. Oh, no, everyone else messed up how to make gluten free tasty!
If you like gluten, it's probably a good option as well!
p.s. Get the contorni veggie for a side of wonderfully well cooked greens.
There were 3 tables including ours...It took more than 30 minutes from the time the appetizer arrived until the main courses arrived...The waiter never checked with us,.we had to go out to host stand to ask about the delay...
The bolognese dish was very good...the egg dish was a joke...basically a scoop of scrambled eggs,,3 rolled up pieces of salami and 3 triangles of toast...
The caprese and the pastas (cacio e pepe and rigatoni with short ribs) were outstanding.
A bit too noisy for my liking, but a charming set of rooms. Courteous and attentive staff; delightful waiter. I look forward to my next visit.
I took my husband to celebrate his 35 birthday and a new job. I sent a note a week earlier asking whether the restaurant would be kind to put a welcome congratulations note for my husband . Never heard back. I’m ok if that was a too big ask, but would be great to hear back. Went to the restaurant and got seated by quite busy table as it was on the way to the kitchen and with a lot of people passing by, even though there were multiple open in the room behind the wall with more intimate feel. The food was delicious, inclusive of starters and mains. The desert mediocre and overpriced. I asked the waitress if she could put a candle on the dessert, she said with a huge smile “I’ve got you!” upon which the dessert was served with unlit candle! 😳 The candle was just set on a side, I guess it’s DYI service.
Gluten free pizza of dreams!
Love this place. Amazing for gluten-free!
Disappointed as looked at website as we wanted somewhere different than the usual tourist places.
Waiter came over with water didn’t ask us if we would like any other drinks until we asked him.
Service wasn’t great & food was average.
Wouldn’t have wasted money on taxi’s if we had known.
We had some really great Pizza. The service was fast and friendly.
Solid food, some of the better authentic pizza in NY. Nice staff.
Great gluten free gnocci!
The pizza was great and so was the gnocchi. The service was even better than the food!
Great neighborhood spot! Very reasonably priced and delicious. Highly recommend the eggplant meatballs! The pasta is very good as well. We will definitely be back!
Best gluten free pizza!!
Definitely good for a one on one date with significant other. Will visit again!
The gluten free pizza is fabulous. The best GF pizza that I have ever had. The rest of the food served at the table was also very good. I will definitely go back again.
Loved this place! The site of the former and most-loved Lyon, the space is one that's perfect for cozy, casual dining. And Rossopomodoro fits the bill! The service was fantastic - since the place is small, our server was very attentive and we sat in the bar - loved the high top table - and the bartender was there whenever we needed a fresh libation. The food was lovely. Fresh, light Caesar salad and my husband had the arugula salad - sparking with just a tang of parmesan.
We each opted for pizza - I had the sausage and my husband had the salami. Both were piping hot and delicious, although I think the salami was a bit better.
We finished our meal with a glass of wonderful prosecco. And we can't wait to go back.
V slow service. Pizza was not hot. Arugula salad v good. Have eaten at r p several times , this was my first disappointing experience.
Our second meal at this fabulous restaurant in less than a week - amazing meatballs and pizza - highly recommend.
Friends visiting from out of town
Great pizza and red snapper was memorable with the wine pairing. Overall experience was put together quite well.
Amazing gluten free pizza! Service is always excellent, especially accommodating to food allergies. Highly recommend!
Having been to Rossopomodoro several times now (after my first visit it was on the short list to become my favorite restaurant in NYC, it still ranks up there at the top of Italian restaurants, I can state that some of the menu items are among the best food I have ever eaten. The burrata served with prosciutto is the freshest and creamiest I have ever had, the Tonno Scottato is excellent, the salads are fresh and nicely dressed. I have never had Orecchietta alle Cime di Rapa as good as what they serve here, and since I have had it more than once, I will go out on a limb and say they prepare it perfectly every time. I have not fallen as deeply in love with the other pasta dishes I have had, though none are bad. The pizzas can be excellent or boring but with fresh ingredients. The main courses can vary, but the best ones are spectacular. Servers is attentive and pleasant. In a city where I despair on the gradual decline of passion in restaurant kitchens, Rossopomodoro (for the time being at least) has high standards and people who really care about the food that is served. Bravo (or Brava to avoid seeming sexist ...)!
