Really great ,staff brilliant . food ace . Got plates ,got food .Attentive staff.
Being retired, we meet up for lunch in Manchester at least once per week. We have visited Rosso quite regularly over the past few years and have never been disappointed - excellent value for lunch and the house white at a tenner a bottle - you can’t beat that!
I have eaten here several times and it has always been amazing. The staff are lovely, the food is excellent and the venue itself is gorgeous, pre and post refurb.
Great food as always, the staff are really friendly, no rush policy too, so it’s very relaxed.
My husband and I were n Manchester for the weekend and had reserved a table a few weeks before
as we did not want to miss out on this beautiful place to eat. we had been here previously and were so looking forward to our meal. It did not disappoint, waiter was so friendly and helpful. Best meal for a long time, cant wait to get back again.
Tasty well presented food. Excellent service. Beautiful old building with modern luxury feel.
Atmosphere was great, the food was amazing most importantly attention to detail. the staff was very attentive and prepared a surprise for us in short notice. we had a great time. I did not like the tip included in my bill but am sure it works for them.
Lovely food, waiter was brilliant. Went the extra mile to move us to a booth as he was aware it was our anniversary. Nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely be back.
Another splendid evening, lovely environment one not to be missed.
Great experience and staff were helpful and friendly throughout the evening!
What a wonderful evening, the food, wine and service was excellent. We received a suprise anniversary dessert.
A great first time experience, fantastic food, friendly staff and a great ambience. We will be back.
This is a trendy classy venue with a great ambience and buzzing atmosphere. The service is very good but is stretched during busy periods. The staff are lovely and smile a lot. Groups of diners can get a bit loud which needs managing for those around them. Diners make an effort to dress up, although I suspect that some girls dress to catch the eye of the potential footballer dining in Rio's place... The menu is good, not too many dishes and the food is delicious and portion sizes generous. It's not fast food albeit you only have the table for 2hours so as a party of 4, we felt a bit rushed and pushed out, which was a big downside for us and reduced the overall value as it isn't cheap. The bar area is mainly stools round a block and a few side chairs, designed for quick drinks before and after eating more than an evening drinking.
The bill was £350 for 4.
4x Irish coffee
1 x bottle Zinfandel
2x glasses preseco
2x soft drinks
Would go back as a treat but couldn't afford to go weekly.
First time very enjoyable experience. First waiter did not bring our drinks to us before our meal came but second waiter sorted it.
We really enjoyed ourselves and we are looking forward to returning to Manchester and eating at Rosso again.
Fantastic waiter he was very busy but kept our drinks full and checking we were ok.
Food very good and very good value plus good wine. 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 5 star
Food was poor, I'm sure gravy was Aunt Bessie gravy granules. Wine terrible. Had to wait a long time also for food.
The food was lovely, but we were put on a table for 2 that was a foot away from another couple who were arguing when there other tables available and other parties of two were sat on tables for 4.
This totally ruined the feel of the night as I couldn't speak without raising my voice and I kept making eye contact with the gent as he was sat the same side as my husband. Very awkward atmosphere and I think poor planning to put two couples next to each other. I felt like I was on a double date
Always great food. Very stylish decor. Great for special occasions
2nd visit In a month and on both occasions excellent food and service
Great experience, lovely setting, great service and food was lovely, definately will return
Love the decor, very clean and fresh. The service was excellent with a waiter/waitress always in earshot. The food was amazing, Everything was well presented and extremely tasty. We had the lunch menu and the portion sizes were bigger than expected. A very pleasant lunch outing.
Brilliant restaurant. I dined there with my wife and child for lunch and the staff were very welcoming and looked after our dining needs. Most of all the food was awesome and cost was very reasonable for a high standard restaurant.
Great food and excellent service! Will be there again for sure!
Eating at Rosso always feels like an occasion and never disappoints.
We attended Rosso for my mum's 60th birthday. We had the lunch menu which was very reasonable and a bottle of wine for £9.95.
The service was good, we were served by two different waitresses, the second was friendlier and more chatty than the first.
The food was good, there could have been slightly more but we didn't leave feeling hungry. As it was my mum's birthday they surprised her with a dessert of profiteroles with a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate sauce which was a lovely touch.
Not eaten here for a few years as the food had become somewhat disappointing and didn't do justice to the magnificent surroundings. Gave it another try this week and was very impressed with the makeover - the room is bright, white and welcoming. The food was good, service could have been better, the Italian white wine offered as part of the lunch deal (which we mixed and matched with the a la carte menu) was described as good but, in my opinion, was not very good at all (we knew we were taking a risk at £10/bottle though). Overall, a good lunch and when we return we will choose a more expensive wine because, as ever, you do get what you pay for up to a point!
My partners 60th birthday. Started well and 3 of the 4 main dishes were excellent. Mine, though, was awful. At the end of the meal, when asked by the waiter if everything was OK he was told my fish soup, which was only part consumed, was the worst I'd ever been served. He did not know what to do or say! He asked if I'd like another plate, and when I said everyone had finished their meal he sort of shrugged and cleared the table.
Later, we asked another waiter if they would send over a profliterole with a lit candle to acknowledge my partner's birthday, as we had seen one delivered to a table of diners.
The profliterole and candle were duly presented to a very confused couple at the wrong table then whisked away before we had chance to claim them.
Not the best performance from a supposed top restaurant.
Fab food - poor service as waiters down right miserable/brusque
Great service, food and atmosphere. Lovely and will return next time I’m in Manchester.
Was given worst table in the restaurant (should have been advised this when booked) also was my daughters birthday and not even acknowledged
What can I say - another evening and another great night at Rosso's! The staff cannot do enough for you, from the doorman, to the concierge through to the waiting & bar staff.
Its clean, and the staff take pride in what they do. I haven't yet had a bad experience here at all. The food is great with a fantastic choice on the menu. The wine is good and drinks at the bar can be fun. Its a great place for a celebration, or even a proposal!
One thing I would recommend is to turn the volume down on the speakers directly over the tables as sometimes the resident DJ gets a bit carried away and conversation can be difficult but other than that - TOP JOB & thanks to all the staff who made our night very special indeed.
Birthday celebration. Just as fabulous as we’d hoped and more. Staff, food, ambiance, location, design, furniture all 100%. Rio Ferdinand your staff are a credit to you. Next time we are In Manchester we will definitely be back. Special cake fir my partner’s birthday. The staff are lovely and fun but still customer service are spot on! ❤️
Food was amazing as always, however service was slow, guys on bar were great but asking for drinks or the bill both took over 15 mins and bill we had to ask for again then still waited
Lovely food and lovely staff definitely would recommend xxxx
Excellent as always. Food stunning, staff attentive, venue simply beautiful!!
One of my favourite lunch time venues in Manchester. It never fails to impress my first time guests, the reception and waiting staff are superb as is the food. It looks even better after its recent makeover too.
Fantastic service and great food!
we visited for lunch as part of our golden wedding anniversary celebration and it was really good.the staff were very attentive and took some photos for us and my sister in law shown the manager a cutting of our wedding in 1968.the food and wine was excellent and to our surprise they brought us a decorated plate with 50th anniversary on it with some nice profiteroles and a jug of warm chocolate free of charge made my wifes day.then onto the bar for a really nice cocktail a really nice day.
brilliant, top place, top food - would defiantly go back
Great service, we arrived early for a drink at the bar and we could sit straight away! Food came out promptly and was lovely! I great time had.
