Wonderful birthday dinner. The restaurant knew how much I like Osso Bucco, and had it on the specials menu just for me. Incredibly attentive service, food and ambience. Highly recommend. Thank you, Rossini's, for being a Murray Hill staple for over 40 years!
Always good, fresh food, with interesting specials.
Lunch was wonderful, as always. Just can’t wait for the restaurant to reach the next level of occupancy.
Just can’t beat Rossini’s!
Had always wanted to go to this neighborhood favorite. It was terrific. I emailed them before reserving and asked about their safety precautions for eating indoors. They assured me they were up to date with local requirements for ventilation and spacing.
The food, the service and the ambiance were lovely. Can’t wait to return.
We were surprised to find indoor seating but happily the restaurant had proper social distancing with staff wearing masks throughout. I had a homemade pasta special with shrimp & artichokes. The shrimp could have been larger, but the dish was very tasty. My friend had pasta with clam sauce & was quite content. Everyone was gracious & they sent a complimentary slice of cake to celebrate my friend’s birthday. A nice touch.
It’s wonderful to have this “old world” gem back in the neighborhood. Very tranquil and professional. We missed you.
I was glad to see my favorite lunch spot re-open after 7 months with the same great staff and excellent food. Authentic options, well presented and always friendly and professional staff
Great to be home . An old friend
Rossini's is a very special place. The main dining room is charming, warm and inviting. The service is impeccable (friendly while being totally on top of every detail -- one never had a chance to get thirsty because your water glass is always full). The food is delicious. We were 3 and inclined to share one grilled octopus special appetizer. Our waiter suggested 2 for the 3 of us which was a bit much for us as we tend to be small eaters but it was very yummy and served on a salad with small greens, olives, tomato. Shrimp Oreganata and Veal Francese main courses were excellent as was the eggplant Melanzane antipasta that I chose as my main course. The bread is dangerously good and the bruchetta that was served along with the bread to whet the appetite did just that. A little wine, a good cup of coffee, and one is definitely in a good place.
Great environment and delicious food. Excellent music!
Love this restaurant....classy and great service and food!!
Top notch northern Italian menu, excellent service and wine list. Don't miss this hidden gem on 38th.
Great food. Great service. Relaxing dinner in a quiet setting with a piano player that helps you unwind and relax. Upscale neighborhood dining at it’s finest.
Excellent service and even better food!
Great authentic Italian restaurant. Great service, great meal
My only complaint was that the waiting staff were just functional, no warmth or personality at all. I hope you will give them feedback that the mechanical service detracts from a very nice place with delicious food.
Warm, energetic atmosphere. On the formal rather than the casual side. Food is outstanding! They really know how to do veal!
Martini came with limes!
No capers in the veal piccata
We had to ask for everything
Very poor value for the price
Couldn’t leave fast enough !
Always terrific. Only flaw this time was they did not have my Open Table Res even though I had confirmed it. They sat us anyway at a very nice table.
Best Carbonara in New York!! The service is always great and my table is always ready.
This is a real hidden gem.
We had dinner on a Monday night during a business trip to the city. Great food and lovely old-time atmosphere with wait staff in tuxedos and live piano music that did not interfere with conversation. I would definitiely go back and recommend it to anyone when they are in the area.
My friend have been dining at Rossini's once a quarter for the last 2 years. Each time we have enjoyed a great meal, excellent service and ownership who cares about its customers' dining experience.
We look forward to the next quarter.
Live music with soprane and tenor vocal
Good food, quick, italian
Delicious! Great atmosphere and entertainment.
I wouldn't recommend this place to everyone, but would foe some folks. A tad disappointed with dinner. It was our anniversary and they put us on the outside bench seats, sitting side by side with a 4-top table within 2 feet in front of us, we could hear people breathing they were so close. It was very tight and cramped - there were other normal tables with twosomes seated after ours. Food was rushed and average - kind of heavy sauces, calamari marinara had an off odor - then at then end gave us a desert on a plate with happy anniversary written on it (thank you for that), but we had the worse table in the place for our anniversary. Prices were above average but normal for location, drinks were good. I probably wouldn't go back. The opera singers (Saturday night) were amazing, very nice people.
Food is very good, however, if you dine here make sure you do not get table 15. There are a couple of tables by table 15 that are bad too but perhaps not quite as bad. If seated at table 15, in one of the seats your seat will be jostled every couple of minutes by every waiter, server, & busboy in the restaurant plus as a special bonus by patrons in the area too. It is like sitting on an economy seat on a plane where someone is pounding constantly at the back of your seat. Further, that area has two additional very negative drawbacks: it is next to where they bus or store plates so its the constant sound of dishes and glasses rattling and - worst of all, they finish cooking some dishes there too and the smell of - perhaps its the oil - is very unpleasant. Run home and shower and wash your hair and send clothes immediately to the cleaners to get rid of the smell. Its like spending a lot of money to sit in the middle of a noisy, smelly, busy kitchen. Stick to eating at the front bar or the lower level if you don’t mind a few stairs.
Really enjoyed this authentic Italian restaurant. Staff was great and so was the food
Service and food were excellent. I would go back. Highly recommend.
I made a reservation two weeks before the day, but I noticed after they seated me that they have placed me in an area with the walk ins. I didn’t want to make a big commotion halfway through our date. But in the end of the dinner, I tried to find someone and asked why we weren’t placed inside. We talked briefly but he said it could be full, which is not true because I saw numerous amount of people go in during the same time I did. He also said I had to reserve a week in advance, which I thought I already did two weeks in advance. What aggravated me more was the fact that I was labeled a “no-show” when in reality I did come, I went in told them I had a reservation but the person bringing us to our table did not bother to check in the reservation details. This is not at all professional and I am disappointed in how it turned out. The food was great. I had the filet mignon and it was flavorful and soft. The pasta was creamy and had the right amount of taste to dress the linguine. The salmon appetizer we had was served perfectly with the side pieces to complement the taste of the salmon. The server was nice but the overall experience was affected by the way we were seated. I took a look inside and the difference was drastic. My girlfriend did not like the bar smell and how we were seated right at the entrance door. Overall, we did not like the experience and most likely not be recommending it to anyone.
Thank you so much for making our anniversary so special and memorable. The service and food were both excellent, and the dining room is perfect for a special occasion/date night and also for a nice night out with friends. We will be back!
We love Rossini’s! It’s a must whenever we visit Manhattan. This time we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and I surprised her by having her daughter and partner meet us there for dinner. We had a wonderful time and our meals were excellent as usual. The service was attentive and our server was knowledgeable, which we’ve come to expect. It’s a great value for the quality of food and wine.
Been going here over 20 years and my family and I love Rossini’s. Best authentic Italian food in NYC.
A quiet, classy ambiance. I was there for a business meeting and the quiet environment was very conducive to the business discussion. I could easily see this as an excellent choice for a romantic dinner.
Average food nothing amazing, expensive, rude service.
Rossini’s is a wonderful restaurant with great food! The staff take pride in making the experience special. The piano player and singers are a amazing!
An excellent experience. Have eaten there many times-they never lose their touch! Great!
Rossini's is a good restaurant, but it was being portrayed during NYC Restaurant Week as "exceptional". Granted we ordered from the restaurant week menu, so perhaps my take on it isn't wholly accurate. The salmon carpaccio was excellent and the eggplant parmesan my friend had looked tasty , but my veal medallions were only average. The dessert choices were only spumoni and cannoli and neither were anything to write home about. I have nothing against Rossini's, it was simply a local Italian restaurant that didn't stand out as being particularly special.
Food and service very good.
The food and service are tops at this wonderful neighborhood gem. The specials can be pricy so be aware but they are awesome. Always a great meal and time here.
Great food and great service! Really enjoyed the whole experience - was pretty crowded for a Tuesday!
