Amazing experience! Beautiful musical performance. Everything was delicious. Ambiance was great.
This is the best experience you can have. Food, atmosphere, music and hospitality. They will prepare what you want the way you want it with pleasure. The staff is attentive and professional. I had the seafood and my wife had the veal. Wine list is perfect and reasonably priced. People watching is great and did I mention the opera singers. Book it now !
We had attentive service and the food was delicious. If what you want is not on the menu, they will make it for you. The restaurant was busy and ‘energetic’ but a little loud to hear across the table. I had the seafood special, and it was better than expected - pasta with lobster, clam and calamari with a tomato sauce. I asked for a little heat to the sauce and it was perfect.
They brought out a very delicious piece of cake for my wife’s birthday and sang happy birthday.
We went to Rossini's for my friend's birthday. When we arrived, we went to check in our coats and the lady wasn't pleasant. No welcoming smile or anything and just asked us in a snotty way "Do you have reservation?" We got to our table and got water and drinks and then waited over 20 minutes to get menus. They were busy and we understood that, but even asking for bread took 15-20 minutes. My friend's entrée which was a veal dish was too salty for her and she ate it because she didn't want to wait another 20 minutes or more to get a new dish! Service wasn't all that great. Another thing was that the tables are close to each other and you could hear the other table's conversations. It was way too noisy in there. My friends and I had to raise our voices to hear each other are kept having to repeat what we said. The only thing that came quick was the check and when we went to pick up our coats it was a different lady who at least smiled and was pleasant.
We've lived in Murray Hill for 35 years and never ate at Rossinis. Now I know why. While the food was delicious, and the service was excellent, the noise level was unbearable and the prices were outrageous. One appetizer, three drinks and two pastas was almost two hundred dollars. I have lived in NYC my entire life and I am used to restaurant sticker shock prices but $30.00 for a plain mushroom pasta special. Really? Ludicris. They really hoover your wallet here.
Authentic italian american meal - service was excellent and would highly recommend
Had not been back to Rossini's for a few years after a move. Found it to be as good as ever! Thanks
The decor was very festive (Christmas), warm and inviting. I checked the dress code on their website before we went and the only requirement was no shorts in the dining room. We wore jeans, collared shirts and snow shoes, not boots, (as it was actually snowing) but were glared upon by the server seating us. We felt it was rude and unwarranted. By the time we left the room had filled in and about 1/3 of the patrons had jeans on. Meat Lasagna was the pasta special for the day that we ordered for an appetizer and it was delicious. The Homemade lasagna noodles were cooked to perfection. The chicken parmigiana Rossini with a lemon wine sauce was a wonderful spin on the traditional red sauce. My husband ordered the pork chop special. While it was cooked well done (he ordered it medium) it was still flavorful.
Excellent food, attentive wait staff and excellent entertainment from Opera duo plus pianist. Great experience overall.
Excellent food entertainment great restaurant staff wonderful experience
We have dined at Rossini's for years and our experience is always great. The staff is courteous, professional and attentive. When you walk in you feel completely at home. Thanksgiving dinner consisted of four courses and it was divine. Even though it was prefix there were ample items to chose. We started with shrimp cocktail followed by a homemade Chickarina soup(delicious soup finished at the table with parm cheese and black pepper...yum). Main course was turkey piled high surrounded by candied sweet potatoes and assorted veggies(we could not finish it all....leftovers were taken with us). Desert pies were flakey and filled with fruit. Best of all if you didn't want turkey the full menu was available. Thank you Rossini's for putting the Happy in Thanksgiving!
Usually love this restaurant but we went towards the end of the day and you could tell it was just 'off'.....
Great spot being going for years. Friendly people and great service. Food is terrific
Excellent food and service. An old world classy Italian restaurant.
Lovely atmosphere. Good food and service nice having piano
The food was all delicious, and, actually not expensive by fine-dining NYC standards. For the quality of the atmosphere, with bow-tie clad waiters, wearing tuxedos, the prices on food were a great deal. The wine is, of-course, expensive, but that is the case everywhere in Manhattan. Our waiter did forget about us half-way through the meal, so he never offered dessert or asked if we wanted anymore food at all. The busboys are good at refilling water glasses. The highlight was the quality of the food and also the live opera singers, a man and a woman, who actually sing on Broadway as the main job. Having live singers, WITHOUT the annoyance of having a band play, was a real treat. Many restaurants have live bands, but to have opera singers was awesome. I felt like I was in a scene out of a movie. I would definitely go back to the restaurant, and I hope that the waiter forgetting about us was just a fluke event; maybe he got sick and had to leave?
Fantastic as always. Don’t tell eleveryone I want to keep it to myself. They sing opera and showtimes Saturday nights
We have been coming to Rossini's for decades now. This is our first choice for traditional Italian in New York, and Rossini's has never let us down. The service is graceful and efficient; the ambience is elegant yet simple. Nothing is for show; everything is real. And when we let them know we're pressed for time, they make sure that no time is wasted; we get our complete meal, without any sense of haste, and still leave the restaurant with plenty of time to make our showtime.
On our most recent visit, we tried dishes we'd never had before and were delighted to broaden our range. Nothing on the menu is designed to shout at you about how clever the chef is; it's all there to be exactly what you hope for in a northern Italian restaurant. Yet the chef IS clever; everything works together. We plan to come to Rossini's on every future trip to Manhattan, whether it's just my wife and me or we have a group of friends or family.

Fantastic lunch. Great food and wine. Service was excellent. Will go back for business lunches and with my wife for dinner.
Our experience was exceptional! The food was excellent and the ambiance was classic.
Never had a bad meal!!
I am a regular at Rossini's since 1993 and is a fixture in Murray Hill.
They kept it like it was 20-30 years ago, good food with the same family presence just Pino intended it.
Awesome! Food and service is top notch and I keep coming back time and time again.
A hidden gem in Manhattan. I can't wait to bring my family here.
Great ambiance, good and service.
A bit of a time capsule- in a good way. Great ambiance. The staff couldn’t make you feel more welcome or taken care of. Everyone was on point. Food is very good - but not remarkable. I definitely recommend the experience. I will go back for sure.
The welcoming atmosphere is so nice when you arrive until you leave. The staff is very accommodating. Great restaurant for good food and for being able to hear one another. Service is excellent.
First time visiting, and I would go back. Good selection of dishes, service was fast, and the environment was very good for conversation. A bit pricey, but it's New York. The staff tended to hover a few feet from our table, which was at times intrusive (they had conversations going about things that did not involve us), but that's not a huge problem.
I’m from Chicago and found Rossini’s in September. I was back this week and it will be my go-to spot whenever I’m in NYC. The staff is exceptional as is the ambiance.
Went here based on good reviews here and Yelp, and it was open on Sunday night. Overall unremarkable. Food was mediocre - fish overcooked, bolognese flavor-free and dried pork chops. Chicken was decent. Salads were swimming in dressing and clams were overly breaded. Service was nice but harried. Not bad but too many other options to return.
What a joy! Rossini’s is a classic. Old school Italian at it’s best and a level of service that makes you feel like a member of the family as soon as you walk in the door.
This was our first trip to NYC and Rossini’s was a recommendation from a family member. It was a fantastic dining experience from the very beginning. We were seated right away at a small table that was not very comfortable for me- I asked to be moved to a different table and they accommodated my request immediately with no hesitation. Service from all the staff was amazing, dinner was outstanding and the live opera singing was beautiful. We can’t wait to come back to NYC and visit Rossini’s again. Highly recommend!!
Old school doesn’t do them justice, just old. Veal tasted like 8 lemons were squeezed on it. Baked clams had a mysterious seasoning that I haven’t tasted in the 500 other times I’ve ordered baked clams. Menu is dated, poorly prepared and lost and that goes for the decor as well. The servers couldn’t be nicer though.
Absolutely Delicious! I will revisit soon during the holidays.
Disappointing pasta and fish...salads were ok...would not return...
Poor wait staff service, very disappointed with this restaurant. Also informed them of my wife’s birthday and did not receive any recognition.
Love the “old time” atmosphere with “experienced” weight staff. Made my small group feel at home very quickly.
Food is always fantastic!
Ate here twice while we were in NYC. Squash flowers filled with cheese as a special appetizer was excellent. Eggplant appetizer was also great. Had the veal, shrimps and spaghetti carbonara - all were superb. Drinks and wine are pricey at $ 18 each but the food is worth it. The restaurant always seems busy with locals and tourists.
Very good and would go again. Conveniently located and seafood and pasta great.
