Good food. Traditional old world Italian meal. Quiet upscale ambience. Excellent servic
Memorable service
We enjoyed our return to Rossini's. Food was as good as always and the service is so professional and accommodating.
Not sure we can return because it's now on the 2nd floor and way too many steep steps for the senior in our group.
This was our first time at this restaurant.
Our party of 4 was greeted well. Most of our party enjoyed the food however the meal was affected by very weak service especially as it was not very busy.
Water was not offered except when we asked and at least one person at the table had an empty glass, milk was not offered with tea and on one occasion we had to actually get up and find someone to get service after waiting for some time for someone to come by. It does not appear that this is usual based on other reviews however based on our experience we will not go back.
Food was presented very well and was tasty. Service was friendly and attentive.
Took mom and my brother there for mom's birthday. I understand that this place is a place with a table cloth and I can't expect massive portions but a bit more food for the dollar would be great. Not super expensive but I just expect more food when I pay that kind of cash for a meal for 3 people.
This is an excellent restaurant, and we'll certainly go back - the only thing we wouldn't order again would be the veal, which was dry, chewy and therefore disappointing, but the pastas and other things on the menu are just great.
Ive been to rossinis three times. And all visits with great service. On this occassion and the last, the food wasnt up to par with the price. My wife and i both had the chicken parmesian($25). Both were over cooked and dried out! Not worth the price and will not be returning!
Delicious dinner and wonderful service. We'll be back.
Have been to this restaurant a few times and have never been disappointed. Always friendly, service has always been attentive, food has always been exceptional.
Will return.
Great service and great food! This is a forgotten gem in Avenue Road.
We had the restaurant to ourselves. Server was courteous and pleasant. Food was great. I would certainly recommend this place again. We had the mussels and grill squid for apps. And also had the fish/seafood soup and spaghetti and veal meat balls for our entrées. All 4 dishes were delicious.
Excellent service , good ambiance (mid-summer quiet season). My husband ordered the polenta and the Aso Buko - both of which were fantastic. I had a Capresi salad that was mediocre and grilled shrimps with hand rolled pasta. At first our waiter told me there were 5-6 shrimps in the entree. He later came back and apologized and corrected himself - there were 2 shrimps cut into small pieces. Overall, the dish was tasty but the value wasn't there.
We haven't been to Rossini for quite some time but used to be regular customers from the time my husband and I met in 1975. We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary on this visit and were pleased to be complemented with glasses of Asti Spumante and a nice little dessert.
We would be happy to come again.
Nothing special, nothing terrible. Just...meh. For the price it was underwhelming. Used to go to Rossini back in the late 1980's and this was a return visit for nostalgia's sake. Wouldn't return again. Escargot was a let down. Carpaccio covered in sauce (if it's good carpaccio you let it shine, you don't bury it). Caprese was so-so. Bruschetta was solid. Veal Ravioli was decent, Salmon was not.
Restaurant is very outdated. The food was only so so. The decor needs updating.
This restaurant is a throwback to the past, rarely seen nowadays. White tablecloths, quiet atmosphere, northern Italian menu, without the frills. Everyone enjoyed their pasta, veal dishes. No surprises. Standard Italian fare done well. Nice service. For those who want a tried and true Italian meal.
A quaint upstairs restaurant with impeccable service and very nice food. A great spot for the neighborhood and for those who don't want to go downtown. Recommend the chef's suggestions***
Terrible ambiance.
Restaurant closes at 10pm on a Saturday night?!
Do not go to this restaurant, as there are many more in the area that are far better.
The menu is limited. We were not offered dessert and had to ask for tea and coffee.
We had been to this restaurant many times before, but have never had such a poor experience. We are hoping this was a one off.
I would recommend the antipasto and starters dishes such as bruschettas and grilled and fried calamari.
The pizzas are overall good, in particular the simple ones such as Margherita.
In terms of other main dishes, I would recommend the 'ossobuco with polenta', a great northern Italy specialty which is little known in Canada, but is delicious.
It was a relaxing Father's Day dinner until a big, loud family was seated next to us. We heard every word that was spoken (yelled) at that table. Despite that, the food was good and we had a quick dinner making it home in time for the round of 16 at the FIFA women's World Cup with Canada playing.
Excellent food, served with friendly attention and care
Service and food were very good, but much less than what I had expected.
Rossinis is our go to restaurant for everything from special occasions to last minute weekday dinners. It is consistently good as far as old school Italian comfort food is concerned. The service is spectacular. There is always a return visit in store for our family.
You have to try their lasagna. It's the best in town - very light, very filling. The Service is excellent.
Went to celebrate our 14 year anniversary. My food was mediocre. Husband did love the veal, cooked to perfection. Would try other stuff on the menu if we decide to come back
We recently moved to the restaurant's neighbourhood and were looking for a place to dine regularly. We discovered Rossini last weekend and found what we were looking for. Excellent food, great ambience and best of all, the service. Alberto is a professional waiter that knows how to make make his guests feel special. Can't wait to go back!
The food was fantastic, the service was every bit as good. We will definitely go back..
Went with a party of four. Appetizer of calamari and bruschetta
Had Branzino - fish was fresh and delicious
Other diners had pasta with shrimp etc.
Everything fresh - perfectly seasoned - perfect portions
Food was good, but overall it was disappointing compared to years ago. A lot better choices in Toronto.
Our 4th time at this restaurant. All 4 meals were excellent & service was great. Will certainly return again.
Very nice restaurant, good service, excellent food and reasonable price!
Four of us went for dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant was relatively busy, but we were shown quickly to our reserved table. From thereon the service was quite brusque. Fortunately the quality of our pastas was more than adequate compensation for the inattentive wait staff. It would have been nice to have someone from the restaurant actually say goodbye and encourage us to return when we were leaving.
The food was very good and the portions were most adequate. The service was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back again....loved the fact that they have their own parking lot so trying to find a spot for the car is, hopefully, not going to be an issue.
Rossini's has been around for years but the food is still really good. Lovely appetizers and delious mains. If you like seafood, their fettuccine with seafood is full of mussels, clams, squid, shrimps and is done in a light tomatoe sauce, it's so good I finish it all. Chicken Parm, delious and a great portion size. Have been there 3 times in the last few months and have enjoyed every time .
We had a great dinner at Rossini's. Hadn't been there for a couple of years. The food was still as good as it was years ago. We sat in a quiet corner and there was a thumping noise all the time. We asked what it was and our waiter said it was the dishwasher. Not such a quiet corner. Overall our experience was good!
Rossini's has been around for years and I'm thrilled to have rediscovered it. Food is great, it's comfy and service is good. Easy parking with a lot next door. I would recommend it and have done so already!
Rossini's has been in the neighbourhood for many years & no wonder because you can always count on good service and good food.
A varied menu and an attentive wait staff made the meal go very smoothly.
Food was very unimpressive. There was small bugs
Flying around our food.
Won't go back.
