Rosie O'Grady's Ratings and Reviews
We reserved a table for a lunch/theater outing with our daughters and were given a great corner table where we could chat. The menu met all our needs - from burger-loving dad to vegan-only daughter. The ambiance was wonderful, service was attentive and gracious and would highly recommend. Plan to return myself.
My original reservation was for six for a gathering of friends from many directions in the city for the holidays. Seven of us showed up, plus a toddler in tow. The hostess could not have been nicer or more helpful. Within minutes we had our round table comfortably set for seven plus a high chair, for the little one. Service was masterfully attentive but never intrusive, with four courses well-paced. Everyone found something to love on the menu, and the food was delicious. It was a great, memorable evening thanks to "Rosie"!
Enjoyable spot. There is a separate bar in the restaurant, and a pub downstairs. Service was great, we were given a table for 4 near the window even though we were only 2, since they had one available. The food comes quickly. I had the chicken oscar, very tasty and buttery with Hollandaise sauce. It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. This is a good place to go before a Broadway show.
The was excellent as always. Table was ready when we arrived. We did find ourselves asking the server for things that should automatically be brought to the table time after time. But I don’t think one lazy server should represent the restaurant in its entirety. Overall the experience was much enjoyed
Decided to eat here last Friday night prior to seeing a show. The food was just good enough, nothing special. The atmosphere was noisy since the restaurant is so close to the large bar. This place is better for groups and bar scene than a nice restaurant for dinner.
Had a great dinner but our server was not very attentive. Never offered to bring us another drink. Had to flag him down to get water refilled. Food was good, got us in at a nice quiet table even though they had our reservation wrong. Would go back and hopefully have a better server.
Attended Rosie's for dinner booked table for 7 o'clock which was ready . Food good but very noisy with having to share other diners conversation by listening. Seating was cramped and it would have been better with more room. The restaurant was extremely busy with lots of people waiting to be seated. These probably were those who had not booked. Therefore, I got the impression that the staff were trying to get people served and out as quickly as possible to get as many people served. Overall, we did enjoy the food and service and would probably return if we decide to return to New York, but we would try and book earlier in the afternoon or later at night.
Whoever said this place is good must not dine very often. I got the burger and it was burnt to a crisp, and my friend ordered the chicken parm. The bread was stale. The hostess told us we didnt make a reservation when i was showing him my phone the reservation. His response " computer broken". This place is the worst.
Great space! Classic & a good find in NYC. Service from all aspects wasnt bad except for the waiter himself. Inattentive, rude, smug & not accommodating @ all. When i ordered my meal I asked for no potatoes & to add a side of spinach, I even stated that Id pay any additional if needed, food arrived 15-16 mins later & potatoes were on the plate, when i asked for the side the waiter became angry & said "we dont do that here, no substitutions" & stormed away, about 10 mins later the server arrived back @ the table with a side of spinach, placed it on the table & walked away, no comment, no sorry about that.
spoke to the manager & left.
Rushed service -very disappointed. We booked as a Birthday treat. We were expected and given a nice seat near the window. We ordered a drink to start and then ordered our meal. Our soup arrived within 5 minutes and then our entrees within 5 minutes of eating that. Everything was cooked nicely but within 40 minutes we were all done. Nobody asked if we wanted wine with the meal, or acknowledged the special occasion. We just felt very deflated and wouldn’t return.
We had a wonderful experience, the waiter we had was awesome, the food was outstanding (the filet mignon is incredible), and the noise level is perfect not too quite but not too loud. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion but it’s great for everyday dinning as-well! Enjoy!
We dined here twice during recent visit to NYC because the restaurant was near our hotel. The food was good, the service OK and the atmosphere very nice. We reserved thru OpenTable and the staff seemed committed to making the reserved times work. The menu has something for everyone and the prices, for NY, are good. The noise level is at times loud.
