Rosie O'Grady's Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten here a few times now & the food and service have been great. It can be a bit noisy especially when the after work crowd comes in for drinks at the bar. Food is good and our servers have done a great job tending to us. This is a great place to eat before seeing a show or if you are just roaming around Manhattan shopping or sightseeing. My one complaint is the location of the restrooms. They are on the far end of the bar which forces you to wade through all the people hanging around at the bar. Other than that, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Made a reservation on a Saturday afternoon after a Broadway show. Everything was perfect. We were quickly sat and attended to, food and drink specials were great, everyone enjoyed their meals, service was fantastic and the ambiance was great. Highly recommend!
This is one of our go-to restaurants for pre-theatre dining when seeing shows in the area. Consistent, broad menu with something for everyone at a reasonable prices, food is always good as is service. We sat far from the bar area, so the sound level was fine. Never had a problem getting out in time for our curtain.
First off the steak my daughter ordered medium rare it came almost well done, because the waiter wrote it wrong. Then we all received our food and it took another 20 minutes for her steak. I did speak with the manager and asked for the meal to be taken off the bill. They did do that, which is actually the only right thing out of the night.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. The host (maybe manager) was rather abrasive and abrupt in dealing with us. He said our reservation "just came down" to their system, even though we made it earlier in the day (was a larger group). His coldly herding us into a waiting area by the bar for 20 minutes past our reservation wasn't welcome, but overall didn't kill the night.
Service was okay - not great but not horrible. Checks couldn't be split at all, which was annoying.
It's on the expensive side, but not absurd for NYC. Overall I would go back, but service improvements wouldn't hurt.
Rosie OGrady’s is a great find in the North Times Square area. The service is friendly and done with a “no problem” attitude. The choice is everything from traditional pub food to full entrees. The value is good. They even offer prix fixe 3 course meals for a good value.
The place is huge but the tables are spaced far enough apart which is great. The location is great also, close enough to shows but away from maddening Times Square.
We reserved a table for a lunch/theater outing with our daughters and were given a great corner table where we could chat. The menu met all our needs - from burger-loving dad to vegan-only daughter. The ambiance was wonderful, service was attentive and gracious and would highly recommend. Plan to return myself.
My original reservation was for six for a gathering of friends from many directions in the city for the holidays. Seven of us showed up, plus a toddler in tow. The hostess could not have been nicer or more helpful. Within minutes we had our round table comfortably set for seven plus a high chair, for the little one. Service was masterfully attentive but never intrusive, with four courses well-paced. Everyone found something to love on the menu, and the food was delicious. It was a great, memorable evening thanks to "Rosie"!
Enjoyable spot. There is a separate bar in the restaurant, and a pub downstairs. Service was great, we were given a table for 4 near the window even though we were only 2, since they had one available. The food comes quickly. I had the chicken oscar, very tasty and buttery with Hollandaise sauce. It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. This is a good place to go before a Broadway show.
The was excellent as always. Table was ready when we arrived. We did find ourselves asking the server for things that should automatically be brought to the table time after time. But I don’t think one lazy server should represent the restaurant in its entirety. Overall the experience was much enjoyed
Decided to eat here last Friday night prior to seeing a show. The food was just good enough, nothing special. The atmosphere was noisy since the restaurant is so close to the large bar. This place is better for groups and bar scene than a nice restaurant for dinner.
Had a great dinner but our server was not very attentive. Never offered to bring us another drink. Had to flag him down to get water refilled. Food was good, got us in at a nice quiet table even though they had our reservation wrong. Would go back and hopefully have a better server.
Attended Rosie's for dinner booked table for 7 o'clock which was ready . Food good but very noisy with having to share other diners conversation by listening. Seating was cramped and it would have been better with more room. The restaurant was extremely busy with lots of people waiting to be seated. These probably were those who had not booked. Therefore, I got the impression that the staff were trying to get people served and out as quickly as possible to get as many people served. Overall, we did enjoy the food and service and would probably return if we decide to return to New York, but we would try and book earlier in the afternoon or later at night.
