Rosie's is always great...perfect place to watch a game....burgers are awesime....5 star...
This the second time we have been to Rosie McCann’s. I didn’t like it either time. We had a 6:30 pm reservation, and I will acknowledge that it was the Santana Row Tree lighting tonight, so the crowds could have been unusually large. We had a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Then we sat for another 10 minutes with no one stopping by to give us even water or take our order or even say they would be right with us. I finally went up and asked who our server was. No one seemed to be assigned to us, it took another 10 minutes to get a server. She took our order and we waited about 30-40 minutes for our food to show up. ... The restaurant is loud and the food is over priced for the quality. Our waitress did the best she could, but it wasn’t enough to make up for everything bad . I wish I could like this place but I’m not sure I will ever get there. Also, in Ireland “Shepard’s pie” is made with lamb not beef. Cottage pie is made with beef. If you want to be Irish fix the menu.
Ordered apps before dinner. An hour passes and no apps. After a 3 hour dinner (which shouldn’t have been) and a messed up order, we walked frustrated and disappointed. The place is adorable! Sad that it was such a hot mess when we were there.
The service today was basically non- existent. The order was taken and that was the last we saw of the wait-staff
We did see three (3) staff people congregated at the bar and ignoring customers trying to get their attention
The hostess was the one that took care of us and even got the check
The food was very very slow arriving as well
A good thing - the batter on the fish and chips was lighter and not so heavy on the fish
I thought it’d be very busy tonight, yet there were only 3 tables/groups. Joseph was very cool at the bar.
The server was not attentive to us
Great service, good food + the Santana Row ambiance. Well done 👏🏼
Most horrible experience thus far. We were kinda talking up the dinner service at Rosie's in a recent review, but tonight's changes that. We had a reservation, was sat right away and given some water, but waited 15 minutes before anyone paid attention to us again. And someone finally did because we flagged somebody down. In those 15 minutes, we've seen a server walk by us and take care of two adjacent tables but not once ask us if we've been taken care of. When we were finally like, "um, hello?!" she was like, our table wasn't communicated to her by the host. Even so, she knows and can see we've been there and they're not busy and there aren't any other servers checking in on us. She then offered, without us asking, to have the manager speak to us. We waited another 10 minutes for the manager. Holy moly. The only efficient staff member was the person refilling our glasses of water. The manager finally came over, apologized, offered to take care of us, etc. etc. But at this point, we were just so aggravated that we just chose to leave. We already wasted so much time here and to think we had a reservation and just wanted to have a good, quick, quiet dinner. We walked to Yard House where we didn't have a Santana Row resident discount/had to pay full price for meals/drinks, and had no reservations/waited for a table, in exchange for good service. It will probably be awhile before we try Rosie's again for anything, which is so sad, because we love the other manager, Ben, who always takes care of us, along with a handful of other team members. When these people aren't around, the service at Rosie'sis just plain awful. Such a shame.
Meal was excellent. We got the fish and chips and California burger. The menu had a lot of options we were interested in. My only complaint is that our food came out right after our appetizer, I wish there was more space between the two courses. Andrea was our server, she was lovely.
We have avoided brunch at Rosie's for more than a couple of months now because of past bad experiences. Decided to give it another go again today as Rosie's is convenient - we live in the area and can walk to the restaurant. We actually love the dinner service at Rosie's; it's just brunch that's sub-par. It took awhile for our food to be served, and we only ordered pancakes, eggs, bacon, and a side of fruits. On top of this, we had to actually get up to look for our server to ask for our coffee and water to be refilled. This has been the "norm" for brunch even if the place isn't busy. It's a totally sad stark difference between brunch and dinner - if you ever wanna check out Rosie's for brunch, I guess order a lot of mimosas so you don't notice the bad service (or maybe they cater to you more if you order alcohol), or try nearby Maggiano's, or even Denny's.
When I found out they had draft Guinness, I had to order one. It was very smooth with a creamy head. Felt like I was back in Ireland. I have the lamb stew which was excellent. Can't wait to come back and try the fish and chips! Well worth a visit.
There was an issue with our reservation when we arrived. I had reserved through the app and someone called to confirm the reservation a couple days before. But when we arrived one of the bouncers insisted that they didn’t take reservations after 9pm (my reservation was for 9:30). It wasn’t a big deal since there was a table open anyway. We were basically seated right away. I was concerned about him saying they don’t take reservations after 9pm since there were time options listed on Open Table through 11pm when I booked. Not sure if the app is wrong or something.
It was a beautiful evening out on the patio. Live music across the street added to the vibe.
Our server was polite and the food was very good. My husband had the fish and chips and I am already looking forward to going back and ordering that for me! I had the chicken pasta and it was tasty. We will be back.
Went with friends for Happy Hour at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. Had Chicken Quesadillas, Irish Nachos and Bangers. All were excellent. Appetizers are half price for happy hour and drinks are significantly discounted. I thought the price was still a little high, but definitely cheaper than what we would have paid had it not been happy hour. We were able to sit outside which was also nice. I'd definitely go back, and recommend others go and give this place a try (especially for happy hour). Just don't expect it to be a super great bargain just because it's happy hour. We were a group of 3 people and we had a total of six drinks (2 per person), and 4 appetizers (2 quesadillas, 1 order of Nachos, and 1 order of the Bangers). Total cost of our bill INCLUDING tax and a 20% tip was $98.
The food and drinks is good. They had one bartender working so it took a bit to get service. Their bacon wrapped prawns is the bomb. Had a good time. I like the place but it's on the expensive side. Can't make this a regular.
Great place to have dinner. Outside seating when music playing was quite the treat. Food was amazing too.
Service was great, food was good. Rock solid spot.
We go to Santana Row frequently but had never dined here. Seems like a late night hot spot. We were in between lunch and dinner so chose salads. While decent, portions are very small for the price and mine came without a key ingredient, I later discovered. With so many other choices at SR, I doubt we will go here again. Even for 1,000 points, which was nice.
The service was wonderful. The waitress was fantastic. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and the waitress brought out a small cheesecake with a candle. The manager was great. I didn’t know how to use a Groupon cash back deal. He help with that. The busboy helped us take a picture. We had a great time and the food was delicious. Bring your family and friends to celebrate any occasion.
Father’s Day brunch
Food was very good for an Irish pub. Too noisy for my own liking - music could have been turned way down.
We very much enjoyed our family night out! Thank you
TV's were so loud you couldn't speak. Food took 45 minutes and restaurant was not busy - Server said only 2 people working kitchen on a Thursday at 6:30 PM. Food tasted ok when we received it, but we barely tasted it because we were starving and wanted to escape the noise. Not a good place to take a family.
Great food and atmosphere
I took my wife for Mother's Day Brunch at Rosie McCann's. Every thing about the experience was very good. They offered complimentary Mimosa's and a beautiful red rose to all the mothers. The service was very good and the prices were reasonable.
Feel the music was too loud..people dine to talk not necessarily listen to music
We had a reservation at 8 which was perfect because at 9:30 it becomes a nightclub - they are VERY clear on that in their description so we knew. We finished just as it was switching over. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. It was our first time but we will absolutely come back. The blackened mahi mahi was incredible.
The Shepard’s pie was an authentic British recipe. Very nice.
I really enjoyed my visit. Despite being a single diner, I had a nice table facing toward the bar area. Ambiance was good with a mixed buzz between sports showing on a few screens, and good music playing at a reasonable volume. Service was friendly and pretty attentive given that it was fairly busy. Wings starter wasn’t bad...crispy wings (they were seemingly deep fried with panko type coating rather than baked crispy but they tasted pretty good) but the Irish Lamb Stew was excellent. Rich gravy with very tender chunks of lamb. They give you a spoon but I would probably have enjoyed some decent bread and butter instead...or as well maybe. Really was good and hearty though. Dessert was creme brûlée which was very pleasant but not startling. All-in-all a really good experience and I’d go back in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for the Irish pub feel but with slightly elevated, still approachable, food - try it out.
The website said they were celebrating St Patrick's day all weekend, however the Irish music entertainment stopped at 9:30 pm and night club music blared. Not what we were expecting...nor wanted.
Love the fish and chips!
We had a great night. We were going to sit inside but the music was WAY too loud at 6:30pm so we sat outside. Everything else was awesome!
Like the ability to drink and dine without feeling rushed; efficient and friendly wait staff, not pushy. Food is very good and potions are ample!
Happy Hour had pretty good choices and variety of selection. Southwicks and Ceviche is a good combo. I tried the Lamb stew and it had lots of flavor. I tasted my wife's Shepherd's Pie and the Lamb stew had more flavor in my opinion. Will definitely head back to Happy Hour!
The lamb stew was amazing!
The food and seating was perfect for our occasion. Our server disappeared during the latter part of our meal, though, so missed a chance to sell us a second round of drinks.
Great service. The best brunch of any other restaurant.
Love Rosie's! Always a great experience.
Nice place to eat and after dinner, turns into a "night club" for dancing.
