IMPORTANT info for them!!
Been to Rosie's quite a few times. Always great service and the food is fantastic!
Will go back soon.
Nice to take a walk along the main street before or after, just to window shop mostly. Have a cup of coffee at the Santa Cruz Coffee Co. nearby.
We went to Rosie's for brunch. I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict which was the BEST I've ever had! Fluffy eggs, thick cut Irish bacon, and superb Hollandaise sauce. Good mimosas. Service was good. Food took a bit longer to prepare than I expected, but I think it's because they were taking the time to do it RIGHT! Boy was the food good! Atmosphere is Irish pubb-y and wonderful.
It would have been nice to get the window seat we requested. It opened up about 5 minutes after we were seated. Our waitress was not very personable, our food was served to us about 8 minutes after we ordered ....not veryrelaxing. The food was good service and ambiance not so much.
My mother and I visited this restaurant during Santa Cruz's Restaurant Week. The menu included a variety of foods and we found our dishes to be flavorful although very basic. Our service was quite good while the noise level for the dining area was a challenge, primarily because the bar area is in the same room and the crowd was fairly rowdy. We did have some problems having a conversation. I believe this restaurant is good for groups and probably families but not a great choice for conversational ambiance. I would certainly return but with a different expectation in mind! Probably "beer and Irish Stew" next time!
We enjoyed a quick and tasty dinner prior to going to the movie. Rosie McCain's provided a relaxing dinner where the service was very good and the food well presented. Definitely axplace to return to.
We went for dinner. We had been to the one on Santana Row so we were familiar with the restaurant. It was good food and plentiful in portion. Drinks were Okie Dokie but a bit skimpy. Service was ok. Dessert is something we rarely have time or room for but we were intrigued by our choices. Do not order the chocolate cake! It was very dry. The chocolate mousse was tasty though. Not sure we will return with so many other options in SC but maybe?
We were a group of six for an early Saturday dinner (arrived a little after 5pm). This place is really loud, even when only half full.
Everyone's food was good. However, the service could have been better.
We were presented with the bill before we'd finished our entrees. We had to ask to see a dessert menu. Then the bill was presented again before our desserts were served. Coffee wasn't offered, we had to ask.
We got the feeling they wanted our table ASAP the way they tried to rush us along. We were celebrating a birthday and didn't want to be hurried.
Rosie's is our goto restaurant pub in downtown Santa Cruz. Food is satisfying & consistently good, usually no waiting, & (usually) decent service.
There were 4 of us and we all had a great time! My brother loved the Irish beer choices! The food was good. We had a great server! She came by a number of times to check on us! She suggested a wine to me that I had never tried and I loved it! What more can I say other than Rosie's was a fun place to dine!
The service was pretty good. I had the "Banger's and Mash". Potatoes were cold and the gravy nuclear hot. Sausage could have come from Costco.
My wife had the "Shepard's Pie". It was good but potatoes were very salty. Overall it was just like the last time I went there 3 years ago. Good for Beer and Darts (and possibly drunken food).
This is a good place to quell the corned beef and cabbage craving. Very busy bar with music. Overall the food was good and the atmosphere nice.
We had the fish and chips and the shrimp/bacon small plate. Both were awesome. We find it so hard to find really great fish and chips. These are! Some of the best in England will have to fight these for the gold medal. My shrimp were awesome. They wrapped shrimp and Parmesan cheese with bacon, broiled them, and served me 5 gorgeous shrimp. Perfectly cooked. Yum. Kayla was our server and she was wonderful. She gave recommendations on our choice of beers and was very welcoming. Food arrived quickly and hot. It was a lovely experience.
Yelp reviews were not the best for this place , but since we were going to eat early and beat the late night party scene , we decided to try it. We arrived at 6:30, were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress came right over and was attentive all night. The food was good, we all ordered something different and it was all good. The Irish nachos are not to be missed. Somebody even substituted the beef in the Irish burger for a black bean patty and he are every bite. You do have to walk up stairs to this place , I did not see an elevator . Street parking. We will be back!
My wife, 2 kids (1 & 2 yrs old) and I went for dinner on a Wednesday night around 6pm or so. This place is really nice for all groups. Whether you're there for drinks at the bar or a nice Irish dinner (they have your normal American food too) you will have a good time.
I'd definitely recommend the bacon wrapped shrimp, it was incredible.
We love this restaurant and come here often but it always takes a long time to get the food. Even when there are few customers. The wait staff is great so I blame this on the kitchen. But the food is consistently wonderful so we just have come to know that we can't be in a hurry when we come here.
Great local spot in downtown Santa Cruz for some tasty Irish fare. Service was prompt and attentive. Big portions and definitely recommend getting their Black and Tan. Live music added to the pub feel and vibe. We'll be back for sure. Thanks!
Came for the band Local Bounty who are a great band for dancing or background music. I made a reservation on line but when we got there was told no reservations or service in the room with the band. We were lucky we got a table in that room. It was no problem to order a the bar so it all worked out and the food and band were both great. Volume or
Noise level was perfect. Not too loud for conversation.
There was hardly anyone in this place for brunch. The service was extremely poor and the food took 45 mins to come out. I ordered a hamburger each for me and my daughter and specified them to cook it "medium". When we got our food, both burgers were so overcooked it was ridiculous. No water refills...the waitress was terrible. Don't come here! The Rosie's in Santana Row is sooo much better all around...both food and service.
I called around Santa Cruz at 5:30 for reservations at 6:30 -- the first five restaurants I called were booked until 7:30. We often go to Rosie's without a reservation but I decided to play it safe so used Open Table. They had our reservation and had a sign on the table when we arrived -- all the other tables were full, although by 7:00 several were vacant. The food was what we expected -- a bit heavy, but tasty, and the 1/2 house salad for $7.00 is a bargain -- big enough to split and they provide two plates at no cost. I had a chicken, vegetable and polenta dish; my partner had an eggplant dish -- he's a vegetarian and there were several options. Only glitch, the server took away my wine before I finished it .
