Rosebud Theater District Restaurant offers a premiere pre-theater dining experience. This restaurant can satisfy any taste as it serves a wide variety of items including healthy and vegetarian options, as well as a separate kid's menu.
Start with a Rosebud Theater District specialty appetizer like the calamari fritti, sausage and peppers, steamed mussels or the bruschetta. Order a pasta dish like the linguine with clams, meat ravioli or the tortellini carbonara. You can also try one of the Theater's favorites like the lemon herb chicken breast, mignon steak sandwich or Sal's baked ziti. Rosebud Theater District Restaurant is also good for small groups and special occasions.
Timothy was our waiter and as he has been in our past experiences...He WAS amazing! He never misses anything and is very helpful. We all really enjoyed his service.
Rosebud restaurant are a long time favorite for traditional Italians cuisine.
Everything was perfect!
Excellent service! The pasta with broccoli and chicken is never a disappointment! I have been going to Rosebud Theater District for years but had actually not been there for about a year. Always friendly hosts, excellent service and delicious food with large servings leaving enough for the next day.
The food was delicious with very large portions. Wine was also very good. Service was attentive without being intrusive. It was a perfect place for dinner before the theater. It was not crowded when we first arrived, but you could tell that it was a popular spot as the evening went on.
We arrived early but we were still seated promptly. Our server, Giovanni (Geo) was very attentive and worked hard to fill our needs. He gave recommendations on meal choices, suggested wine parings and was overall very helpful. The food portions are generous so come hungry! Meal was hot and served promptly. Servers worked as a team helping each other out which makes floor run more efficiently. Will return.
We had a lovely dinner. The food was good, service was excellent. It's a comfy restaurant. Nice place to eat, talk and relax. The only thing I didn't like was their bread.
The food was mediocre. We ordered off the theater menu - my date's beef au jus sandwich was stringy and tough and my fish was bland. Maybe the pasta dishes are better? Our server was pleasant and attentive.
Great spot for a nice meal before a show... atmosphere is a little weird in the lobby of a large building, but is ok. Service was quick and efficient.
Guests were in from out of town. They ordered penne pasta which was delicious. I ordered the pork chop which was only fair and the potatoes were not hot. I would not order it again. When it came time to pay the bill, 2 of us paid cash; the other 2 by credit card. All of us left a nice tip, but the waiter thought we were $20 short. He was probably new but his manager was not helpful either. We explained the finances on paper; who paid what, the amount; the taxes; the tip, etc. He still didn't get it so we left for the theater. Management needs to do a better job.
I enjoy being at the Rosebud for an evening. I called the manager over to tell him what a nice
atmosphere the restaurant has and how welcoming. I always feel like family when I'm there. They are very attentive.
Food was so-so. My lasagna was too salty. Service was quick and attentive enough for lunchtime dining. Overall is adequate but nothing special.
Great Service. We were 1/2 hour late due to traffic. We were seated promptly and the waiter asked if we were seeing a play. He asked us where the play was and what time we wanted to be out of the Resturant. We were out in n plenty of time. Food was excellent and plentiful for the price.
I ordered one of the specials of the day - blackened shrimp salad. It was a nice size salad, but I was expecting more than three shrimp to be on my plate. Overall the experience was great. The food was great, our server was excellent - He wasn't bothersome but he also didn't ignore us.
Food was fantastic with great portion sizes. Restaurant manager/owner stopped by our table to check on us. Prices very reasonable
Perfect place to go before heading to the theater! Delicious food and drinks!
Dinner was exceptional and our waiter was fabulous. The pasta with garlic cream sauce was one of the best I've ever eaten. a wonderful evening.
Food was excellent. Best I've had in years. We all enjoyed it lots
Good food, great service, friendly staff. Overall a very good experience.
WE had a very enjoyable lunch, excellent food, great service.
Rosebud Theater District ("RTD") has all of the perks of fine dining with the additional perk that they are aware of the theater scene. What does this mean? When my date and I first came in, the hostess and then our waiter asked us if we were seeing a show. When we acknowledged that we were, they knew the shows playing (we were seeing Book of Mormon), knew when the curtains opened, and did everything they could to ensure that we would get to our show in a timely fashion. This type of service is indicative of the environment at the RTD -every staff member was professional and conscientious.
As for the food, there is very little to say except that it was all exceptional. The Chicken Vesuvio is out of this world, and the baked clam appetizer was delicious. My date had the linguini and clams (which I was able to steal a taste of) and she was definitely a fan (as was I).
If you are looking for a restaurant near the downtown theaters that will impress and satisfy, this is your place!
Dessert was amazing! We shared the coconut cake.
Went to rosebud pre - theater. Service was good, and the food was good to very good. Excellent Eggplant rotelo. Really good sauce with the Veal Francese, but the breading had an unusual spice in it.
The location is very convenient to the Goodman and other theaters. Negative - valet is with Rosebud Prime - kitty corner across the street. Also, if you go to the theater, they will keep your car until after, but charge you an extra $10. This was not explained when we dropped the car off. This cost them a star in my ratings.
We ate a pre-show dinner at Rosebud's Theater District and had a wonderful meal. Service was attentive and the food was fantastic. We shared a delicious appetizer of sausage and peppers that was one of the best we have ever tasted. The Salmon served on sauteed fresh vegetables was very good as well. Portions were huge, and since we were going to the theater, we did not take leftovers, and we could have easily shared most of the entrees we ordered.
My wife and I dine here a few times a year before theater. The food and service are always excellent.
We had dinner at Rosebud Theater before heading radio show taping of Wait Wait Don't Tell at Chase Bank Theater. The experience was good. The Penne Arribiatta was spicy however to much sauce for the amount of pasta. The Caesar salad was very good.
I would go back if the occasion brought me back to the loop.
Excellent service. We were going to the theatre & our server took very good care of us so we got out in plenty of time. When there was an error in a dish, he was quick to replace it.
Food was bland. We scheduled a lunch meeting due to the convenience of the place. Our offices are in the building. Staff was courteous, food could have been better.
Service was not as quality as Rush Street location. Food was delicious as always.
Be careful, they are located in an office building with no outside signage. If you chose to eat "Outside" you have a lovely view of the office lobby. We were seated in the middle of the dinning room and it was not very busy, but each time someone walked by my seat was hit. The food was good, but I would not go running back. The food also came out very fast.
Very friendly and informative service! Food was delicious.
I went with my girlfriend and we were both very pleased with the food and service. I would definitely go again!
We went to this restaurant to celebrate our end of year. The service was excellent and the menu extensive. No one left hungry.
The person on the phone -I called in to verify the location (no sign outside building), was helpful and advised my friend was already there. We were lead to a nice table location, servers were courteous and attentive to details, and made sure we had our meals served in time for our play at the theatre. Food was real good and the waiter graciously divvyed our menu choice and added a side because they had only one service left of what we both ordered. The restaurant is certainly on my "Tried & True" list of places to dine out.
Great place and excellent service and food!
The food was ok, but the staff was very friendly
Rosebud Theater District is one of my favorite restaurants. They have a great wine and cocktail list, my cosmopolitan was perfect and they have a good selection of wines (by the glass and bottles). I've never had a dish fail here. On my last visit we had eggplant rotolo and pasta with chicken and asparagus in a lovely cream sauce. The staff is great, professional and friendly.
The meal was good, but definitely wasn't great. To start with the bread was cold, plain, and kind of stale. The Chicken parmesan was tasty, but I didn't care for their red sauce - it was a little tart and a bit bland. The Chicken saltimbocca was way too salty - even for someone who isn't bothered by a lot of salt; and it was made with a tomato sauce which I found to be odd. It wasn't bad, I just never had saltimbocca with a tomato sauce and wouldn't order it again.
The positive is that the portion sizes are enormous, so there is definitely enough for a big appetite, or to have leftovers the next day. The house Merlot was very good, and the tiramisu was nice as well. Also, the wait staff were all very attentive.
My mother and I had dinner there before a theater performance. The restaurant was bustling and still conversation-friendly. The server was great and more than willing to accommodate our request to split a salad, entree and dessert. The food was delicious and plentiful and the service was expert, warm and welcoming. I would heartily recommend it as a pre-theater spot.
Excellent for a pre theater meal. Love the service!
