Really loved the ambience here. Dim lighting with a lot of energy on a Saturday night. Downside was the food and service. Tacos were excellent but it took 15 minutes for a waitress to come attend to us, and about 40 minutes after the appetizers were out for the main courses to come. The food was way over salted. They salted the fish and kale AFTER it was already cooked. It was so salty that my lips were burning. I made the waitress aware after I paid for the bill so hopefully they’ll take note in the kitchen.
Oh and btw: they didn’t have the two beers on the list I ordered and they were out of chicken tacos!!
We had been to Rosarita's 2-3 times before and had always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Alas, this time was a real disappointment. The Ceviche was a bit smelly and left the impression that the fish was not necessarily fresh. The Tacos were ok, but nothing to write home about. The steak was ordered medium-rare and was over-cooked. Our waitress, after having served the main course, was nowhere to be seen again. We had to eventually forget about dessert find somebody at the bar to pay. Hopefully just a bad day at Rosarita's.
Unassuming exterior leads into a quaint and smart dining space. While everything ordered was delectable The octopus hotdog had to be the most delicious item we tried on the menu. The bloody Mary’s are a must.
Excellent food
Cool and calm.
Good is not on theme with a ‘fish shack’ hardly any fish options. Cocktails tasted like pre made mix. Service was slow, inattentive and the servers looked pretty unhappy.
Meal was also expensive for 3 cocktail and 3 mains.
Would not return
The waiter was very nice accommodating our request, but unfortunately, the quality of the food/ingredients is poor.
Typically this restaurant is awesome but there new years menu wasn't very good and a bit disappointing.
Food, ambiance and service was great :) We went on a date during a Friday night before the weekend holiday so we were very lucky to have a chill night there. I would definitely return with friends and family.
The menu doesnt match the one on open table so the lobser roll is actually shrimp and instead of 3 tacos you actually get 2. So whilst it is good it was a bit disappointing from that perspective. On the plus, food was good but very expensive, and they have modelo on draught on happy hour which is always good.
I live down the street from this restaurant and really like the decor and atmosphere. The margaritas are reliably good, as is the flan. But I have to say that the food is kinda inconsistent. A few times ago the rice and beans was REALLY dry and inedible, when I politely complained the waiter told me there was nothing he could do and still charged me for it! I ate there a few weeks ago with a friend and the taco's were great. I ate there again last week and the taco's were soggy and awful. I think i'm going to pick another Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood from now on.
My first experience dining at Rosarito last winter was excellent in terms of service and quality of food. However, this past Sunday I went there for lunch, and was very dissapointed that the lunch menu was not available (brunch menu was the only option, but not what I was looking for). Waiter was sloppy in many ways. He forgot to bring my order ( out of five in total) claimed I never gave the order to him, and messed up three of the other four orders (we had no cheese on hamburgers). Never got an apology, on the contrary, I felt as if it was all my fault, which was not tthe case. Left dissapointed, had I known they serve brunch until 4, I would have made the reservation for later.
We were a party of 6 and the restaurant had no problem accommodating us (as we had an early brunch right at opening time). Every one enjoyed their dishes although everyone felt that the portions were just a little small. To be fair to the Shack, none of us left hungry, but we enjoyed our breakfast so much wish their had been more. Perhaps if they had put out bread that might have helped. Also, we would have ordered cerviche but it was not available for the early brunch. Would definitely come back.
More like a dive bar and watering hole. Music was too loud, waitresses were inattentive and not very pleasant to communicate with.
Food was great. Service was lacking. We were the first table to sit outside. It wasn't busy. By the time we were ready to leave it was crowded. Wanted to get out of there when we were done eating.. because... we were done. Took 30 minutes to get the check and another 10+ or so to close out. 45 minutes just to leave should never be the case.
We love this place and went for a friends birthday. Food is always good especially the lagostino tacos and margaritas. We sat outside since it was a beautfiul day and our waiter was very attentive and helped set up desert with candles for the celebration.
Our food was fantastic but our service was not! We sat at the table for 20 minutes before anyone arrived to take our drink order or offer us water. We also received someone else's food that sat on our table for five minutes before our waitress transferred it to the correct table.
This place is always consistent and one of the best places to eat in Williamsburg!
Small portions but great food.
Food was amazing and fresh. Only issue we had was our waitress forgot one of our sides. Took a long time to bring out. Almost ended up canceling. Then it took forever to charge my credit card. I understand she was busy, but a customer that wants to pay should not wait 10 minutes. Aside from that experience was excellent and I would definitely go back and recommend this place. If you are a tequila lover, check there extensive tequila menu.
We were sat for a reservation and waited 10 minutes before I had to flag the hostess down that we had not been seen by a waiter yet even though we were the only people in the dining area. Then he came over smelling like he had been on break before taking our order. Our margaritas then took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. The waiter was so inattentive and couldn't care less. Usually this place is pretty good.
Lovely environment and the staff are wonderful.
I had a 10:30pm reservation for me and my girlfriend. We were sited right away, our waitress was polite and attentive. Told us the specials of that day but also told us that the kitchen closes in 20min so we had to hurry but people came in at 11pm and 11:15pm and still were able to get food (not sure what that was about) the meal was good we had fish tacos, chicken quesadilla, and octopus with potatoes all of which were real good. Would I return...yes but earlier in the day when the kitchen is open and ready to service us without the rush
One of my favorite spots in Williamsburg ! Very good food and vibes. Love the langostine roll and their tacos!
Made a reservation for lunch through Opentable but they were not opened when I arrived!
Quality of food disappointing for price - guac and chips was especially small for $11
Great! Sat outside. Great food, very good music selection!
The service at brunch was absolutely abysmal. Did not receive food for over an hour. Would have been tolerable if the wait staff had addressed it and offered apologies but no one did. None of them seemed to be aware of their tables and would wander out with food and several times delivered it to the wrong tables. They charged us full price on our bill as well.
What a fun place! Great jazz selections. I recommend the oyster shooters and cheese plate.
The smoked cocktails are so fun. Try one!
The fish tacos were lovely, as was the guac and the staff.
Great food
It was our second visit and both occasions were satisfying experiences.
Amazing personnel. Lovely service. And outstanding food.
i love this place, go all the time. But this time, our order took FOREVER and we were waiting about an hour for our meal. It was super annoying - hope it doesn't happen again.
Great spot. Very relaxed and casual. Great food. Good drinks. Great service.
This is one of my favorite places to eat. has been since they opened. I am a big fan of both of their restaurants for quite a long time now. One of the things I LOVE are the margaritas. I ranted and raved about them to my friends on the way there and then when we got there and ordered them they tasted like they were made with the pre made margarita mix they sell at Costcos. Please please please talk to the bartenders about making a proper margarita!! I still love it there but just wanted ya'll to know. PS. The server was also a bit blah (no personality)
Not as busy as I've usually seen it, but Rosarito never disappoints on the food. Delicious as usual, excellent Sangria, and pleasant service.
Some of the food options were yummy. The chile relleno, happy hour oysters & for dessert the Cuatro Leches cake was amazing!! My fav drink on the menu is the Bolero. Outside seating is awesome here, too bad it's chilly out already we couldn't enjoy it as much. Service could have been much better for the 2nd time we've came here. The bussers are much more helpful & attentive then the waiters.
The portion sizes have been decreased, and are too small for the prices. The stew was too salty. The al fresco dining is a nice option.
Had a group of 7 and it was easy to make a reservation. The service was great, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
