Rosarito Fish Shack
Service was a mixed bag. Our waitress was not personable at all. We never got her name and didn't see her very often throughout the course of our dinner. She didn't act like we were inconveniencing her, but her attitude was indifferent, at best. The Fish Stew that I ordered had plenty of seafood, but the flavor of the tomato based broth was bland. My fiance ordered a skirt steak and she wasn't overly impressed, either. The wine carafe was the highlight of our experience, because who doesn't love all of the red wine?
Sadly the menu sounded better than it taste. The Bloody Mary is tasteless, the food portion is small. We had the fish & shrimp tacos, it's ok but nothing to shout about. The eggs benedict is regular. Service is slow despite not having a crowd. I wouldn't be back.
This place was great for many years when it was focused on Mexican. But they changed the menu and now it is partially Mexican but with French and Italian dishes weirdly mixed in. Same with the drinks. No more margaritas on the menu. The whole place feels like it's in the midst of an identity crisis, and the food itself wasn't very special either. Disappointing since this place was such a gem for so many years.
Excellent restaurant. Really friendly staff and great service. Well prepared and presented dishes.
I sat there with my girlfriend for 15 minutes the only person we saw was a bus boy who brought us a glass of water and fix the table from tilting not one person came to take a drink or a food order so we decided to leave and go next-door to shelter which was a way better restaurant
Phenomenal local serendipitous find and will definitely be back! Amazing food and great music and atmosphere
Be sure to check out their 10$ taco’s (especially the fish taco) on Taco Tuesday. Service is attentive and the restaurants itself feels like a breezy spot near the beach. (great guac!)
Error on our bill left me feeling it wasn’t really an error... Food was good. It was 7pm and restaurant was not too busy which was nice. Tacos were perfect size and good.
Come for the food. The restaurant layout is odd but the food is the real star. Staff is friendly and nice. Warning... if you are looking for an early dinner don't show up before 5PM. We loved it!
Great food. Will be back.
Waiters didn’t speak English well. Therefore got orders wrong and had to constantly ask us again what we wanted. Not very attentive ran out of water throughout meal. Extremely hot in the back. No AC. Great value for seafood and food was good.
This is a great place to have Mexican seafood, which is amazing! The neighborhood is really nice and the service is great!!! Would definitely go back to this place.
The menu listed here on Open Table did not match the restaurant and the real menu was very limited compared to what is listed on the site. Also the service was very slow. Food was good but light portions.
We came here for my birthday on a busy Friday night & our server was so accommodating of our large group and dietary restrictions! Loved the whole atmosphere, plus the food & cocktails were delicious. I am absolutely looking forward to coming back soon!
This restaurant is beautiful and the seating outside is perfect. Our server was very sweet and kept us updated on the status of our food (because there was a long wait for our oysters).
The food however, wasn’t great. We ordered the paella dinner for 2 people and the seafood was dry, the mussels in particular were not good and there was definitely way more rice than seafood. We may try this place again.
Platos sabrosos y muy buena atención
Service wasn't great - we asked if things were gluten-free, she said yes, they weren't. Sometimes she was hovering, other times we couldn't find her at all. Plates were forgotten etc. etc. but the food is great, the ambiance is amazing. With another server, it would have all been five stars.
Just not what it used to be. We used to love going. I will not be back.
The margarita was to lemony. But everything else was AMAZING!!
Food was really good! The shrimp tacos were amazing and the salad With ahí tuna is very good
It took them about an hour to bring out tacos and a burger. What’s worse is seeing other people who were seated 30 min later than you get their food (the same dishes) first.
Closed!!! I went there with my reservation done and the restaurante was closed
Great place and great food. Sangria was a winner as well. Will be back soon.
El octopus confit hot dog es increíble, espectacular la ambientación y la atención
Well prepared food, but service was barely competent.
Good food, but the service need to be improved, basically we had to ask for everything
Good service and interior, very poor menu and bad food.
Absolutely delicious! Fantastic everything!
Tasty food, friendly service, we really enjoyed our meal.
Great local dining spot in Brooklyn. Our server was great but the greeting experience was weird - had to find someone twice and the bartender didn't much care we looked lost. The server and all table side experience saved it and the food was delicious.
My husband and I came to RFS for dinner. We each had the bolero to drink, which was great. I enjoyed everything we had to eat- cod croquettes, ceviche, and fish tacos. I also loved the dessert- tres leches. Would definitely come back.
Great place, as always we left happy. The place is cute and not too loud and the food is delicious, quality really high. Hope to be able to go back soon.
We went for my brother's birthday; six of us were accommodated easily. There was something on the menu for even our youngest, pickiest eaters. It has a lovely outdoors vibe. All around good time.
Started with the ceviche. It was drenched in a sweet sauce. Felt like it was like the seafood salad at a nyc buffet covered in bad sauce. Then we get two glasses of wine. The pour of wine was so little you couldn’t help but notice their strategy was to get you to buy another glass. Now for the main course. Paella!!!! They ran out of shrimp, so we had frozen shrimp already peeled in the Uncle Ben’s spicy rice, with several thawed mussels that were heated up. Honestly, I wonder how this place survives with the type of food they serve.
Amazing food and service. Had a blast.
We arrived at the end of brunch. The portobello sandwich ad the croquettes were delicious. It was nice way to spend the afternoon. Good people watching by the window.
Good food in nice ambiance
Service is friendly but can be a little slow
Portions are not huge but everyone was happy with their choice
Great drinks food was delicious but portions were more like tapas size. Service could be improved.
#1 The menu does not match what is on Open Table. Its completely different at the restaurant.
#2 Waitress asked for our drink order. We ordered Peronis - waitress said no Peroni available. So we ordered Montauk Ales. Not available..... asked her what she had available. She said everything but Montauk. So we said is Peroni available? She said Yes......
#3 They came to take our dinner order - ordered Shrimp Tacos... not AVAILABLE!!!!!!
That’s when we left.
At this point we paid for our beers and left!!
Really loved the ambience here. Dim lighting with a lot of energy on a Saturday night. Downside was the food and service. Tacos were excellent but it took 15 minutes for a waitress to come attend to us, and about 40 minutes after the appetizers were out for the main courses to come. The food was way over salted. They salted the fish and kale AFTER it was already cooked. It was so salty that my lips were burning. I made the waitress aware after I paid for the bill so hopefully they’ll take note in the kitchen.
Oh and btw: they didn’t have the two beers on the list I ordered and they were out of chicken tacos!!
