Great salmon, pork chops and risotto! The Bolognese sauce is the best I've had.
It was a cluster. There was a band playing in the other room, so loud you could barley talk in the dining room. Rolls were two days old. Ordered a side of mushroom, we got squash. When the mushrooms finally came, they were barely cooked. Ordered steak medium rare and it was cold rare in center. For 50 dollars a steak, I can go downtown and get a much better product. I really want this place to succeed, however management needs to get their head in the game, clean up the hard and soft products, otherwise this place will for sure close.
The place is lovely. The appetizers were good. The steaks were horrible...$50 for an inedible steak. But, it’s a nice place. Luigi, the singer/guitar player, was really good. But, really, the food/entrees were not good at all.
main room cold & music depressing & tables really too small for eating. left for bar & service great. steak was under cooked & returned. valentine limited menu never in open table for Valentine Day. also still looking for lobster that went with steak.
I don’t consider myself a regular, but I’ve gone enough to highly recommend this restaurant to many people. I decided to make a reservation for Valentine’s Day and I was extremely disappointed. Never would I have thought that I was going to have this experience at what I believed to be a high caliber restaurant. From the moment we passed the traditional dining room, I felt uneasy about this night. They sat us at a table in the event room, which had an EXTREMELY LOUD band. They weren’t bad, but I couldn’t even talk to my date because of how loud they were. Then our waitress comes to the table. It seemed like it was her first night working because she did not know anything on the menu, just that there was an a la carte menu and a fixed menu. After we ordered our calamari, we expected it to be at least 10-15 mins, seeing that it was busy and that’s the usual wait time for an app, but no. We got our calamari in less than three minutes. Soggy, and precooked. Then our main course comes in less than 20 mins. My girl will never say anything bad about food, she’s just too good. When I received my surf and turf, I wanted to get up and leave. The 8 oz steak was dry, and cold. As if they were in a pile of assorted cooked steaks and mine was just another picked off the medium rare stack. It was all truly disappointing. Rosaria has been one of my favorite restaurants since I saw it on the North Shore magazine a few years back. From now on, I’ll stick to nights with the regular menu. It hurts me to say that for what I paid, this was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had.
Table was in the middle of an aisle and people kept bumping into my wife’s chair. Wife moved to another seat. Food was ok but not for the price. Waitress was nice person but forgot almost everything. Forgot to bring bread. Forgot we ordered drinks. Wife got salad, my salad came after I asked? Pre fixed menu which was over priced. They had regular smaller menu that had no steak. I will not return.
Valentines Day was more special because of our dinner at Rosarias. Thank you to Jessica for outstanding service. The food was delicious as always.
Our family recently got together at Rosaria's to honor our dad who had passed away. The quiet room off the bar was offered to us so we could plan arrangements for the funeral in a private setting. Jessica was our waitress. She was outstanding. She gave us plenty of time to talk and think about our menu choices. She understood our circumstances. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Rosaria's never disappoints.
Out of the ordinary restaurant with elegant dining and exceptional service. Old school Italian with excellent seafood, reasonable prices and massive portions (3 whole boneless short rib “blocks” which our friends thought was delicious). Great dinner and value. They are more than happy to pack up half or more of your meals in to go containers. They do this a lot. Easy parking in front.
What more could you want? Maybe a little live music by a wandering guitar singer who is adept at gauging if you want to engage him more or less. Light music didn’t detract at all from our conversations. In fact, hubby wanted to stay to hear more Beatles tunes coming from this serenader.
It was great
You don't have to drive to Boston for an outstanding steak!
Went for Thanksgiving, everything superb, from the service to the turkey to the jazz trio, exceptional. First time, with many more to come. I knew it would be quality having purchased their meats, pastries and home made foods for years. They’ve kept me well fed indeed.
Rosaria's has now become my favorite restaurant. The food is great and the service is alway outstanding
We were there for a birthday dinner. Service was spot on, very accommodating and attentive. we started with 3 appetizers, fried calamari tender, lite and flavorful. broiled oysters and lamb chops (tender tasty and perfect temp).
dinner created my own surf and turf with no issues. Rib Eye and Pan Seared Scallops, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My dad ordered haddock special with scallops and diced tomatoes. Flakey, moist just like it should be.
today was a home run.
It’s nice looking restaurant but way overpriced for the quality of food. Luckily we had a gift card to use and we know we probably won’t ever go back.
We were celebrating a retirement. We have been there many times before and always had a good experience, this time we felt rushed. We will return, I'm sure.
Veal medallions and baked stuffed shrimp very delicious.
We enjoyed every aspect of our evening. The bartender was very accomodating making drinks for our party of six and we had a lovely table in the dining room. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful and we had a great meal, wine and the dessert was the real spumoni with sauce, which no one seems to offer any more. Our waitress was very cordial and knew the menu well. Reccomend this for special occasions.
Had a very nice meal and service. The veal chop was awesome. we will return.
We went on a Wednesday night for my birthday. It was a quiet night for the restaurant so we had unbelievable attention and service. The restaurant is lovely and we liked that the tables were spaced apart, unlike some restaurants where you feel like your eating with the people next to you. The food was great and my drink, a pistachio martini, was also very good. We both had the short ribs and the portions were huge. We both took food home.. I would definitely go back and I have already recommended Rosaria to friends and family.
Always a good experience at Rosaria.....steaks are the best! Staff very nice and accommodating.
The food was fantastic. Our waitress was professional, attentive and funny. She asked if it was our first time dining there which it was. When we asked questions about the ingredients in the entrées she was very knowledgeable. She wanted to make sure we had a great experience. Everyone that worked in the restaurant was friendly to us starting from the very moment we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly and professional hostess who walked up to our table. We were then greeted by our waitress. The restaurants decor was beautiful. We sat on the outside deck over looking the beautiful garden. It did get a little cool I wish they had a few outside heating lamps and some cushions for our chairs. It was a Little pricey for just dinner but I would go again to celebrate a special occasion.
Nice quiet dinner out on the patio. We enjoyed the waterfall, felt like we were on vacation.
Great food, sat outside on a beautiful evening. Read a lot of reviews, one review kept coming up that the wait staff doesn't mention the specials. I had to ask what they were, the waitress seemed unsure and had to read them. I ordered one of the specials and it was great, but for this price, I shouldn't have to ask for info that should be their job.
We celebrated Father's Day. We picked Rosaria's because we celebrated Mother's Day and it was excellent. Food & cocktails were great. The wait service is excellent. Very friendly and knowledgable. Can't wait to go back to sit out on the patio. It looks very inviting.
We have been to Rosaria multiple times as we enjoy the restaurant. This time was our 29th Anniversary and one of our favorite items and reasons we go there is for the Carpaccio. We ordered 2 as usual were told they had only one left which sounded odd since all you have to do is thin slice some Filet etc. We asked for the manager who came over who apologized and said he would be back as dinner progressed to make it up to us but he never did return. We then went to the bar for a drink while we awaited our pickup and he again made no effort at service recovery which was disappointing to say the least. Bert
Rosario's never disappoints. Service was a bit slow because of a retirement party and and Anniversary party. Food delicious as usual.
Although I miss the booth seating, I still love this restaurant....not as private with all tables but the food is delicious.
Mother's Day was most enjoyable at Rosarias. The food was awesome, the service was just what it should be. The guitar player/singer was a nice touch. We are never disappointed at Rosarias. Can't wait to go again soon.
I really wanted to love this place. When you enter, it's in a building with a super market and a VFW. But visually, it's gorgeous with a grand piano, dark wood and a good use of the space they have. However, the staff was very unpolished. The hostess was super rough around the edges and awkward. We were sat, and our waitress was very similar. We were never told any specials (didn't know there were specials until after we had ordered and the table next to us asked). The cocktails were good. I had a salad, which came out as a wedge (but wasn't described in the menu as a wedge). I'm just the wrong audience for this, as I dislike wedge salad. My husband got calamari which he liked. We both ordered steaks. Mine was cooked well, but was not a really exceptional cut. For $30 - $60 per steak, I wanted something on par with Flemings or Ruth's Chris. This was more Longhorn. My husband got the bone-in ribeye, which came out rare despite him ordering it medium plus. Again, it was fine and he ate it - but when you're paying $60 per steak, it's the details that matter. Finally, we ordered the sweet potato fries which was an awkwardly cut up sweet potato. They were out of the sauce that I ordered. We love fine dining and often head into Boston for a great steak. The idea of a premium steakhouse the next town over is so tempting. Yet Rosaria's just fails to deliver. Too many little misses combined with a hefty pricetag (think $200 for two drinks, a salad and app, two steaks and a side) means that I'd avoid this and just head for a classic, trusted steakhouse next time.
I had a ribeye steak that put Abe & Louies, Strega Prime and the Capital Grille to shame
Nice place. Italian comfort food. Large portions. Wish they wouldn't chill their red wine.
I've driven by Rosaria a few times and thought we should give it a try. The people I was with are all "foodies" and all agreed it was hands down one of the best meals ever! Short ribs, veal special and surf and turf. I got seafood but will get meat the next time because Joe Pace makes sure nothing but the best is served. He even stops at your table to make sure you're happy. So the bottom line is my food snobby friends and I LOVED it and cannot wait to go back!! I almost don't want the word to get out so I don't have to wait for a reservation;)
REALLY LOVE THE RESTAURANT. FOOD IS SPECTACULAR AND THE SERVICE IS TOP NOTCH. JUST WISH YOU WERE STILL OPEN FOR LUNCH. USED TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE LUNCH SPOTS.
Great food. Unprofessional servers. Removing plates from the table while others are still eating. Reaching across the table to serve or remove dishes instead of going to the diners side.
Music blasting at 9:00 pm. Could barely hear what was being said at our table. Dining room has been minimized to accommodate bands in the evening.
Members of the band soliciting diners for photos, passing out media for upcoming events, and bringing wrist bands to diners. Very tacky.
Really disappointed that a restaurant that I considered to be of high quality to stoop to the level of a beer hall.
I will not return nor recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The service was poor a new waitress she could not remember who ordered what.
Very slow not organized the food was ok not hot.
Was a very quiet evening for the restaurant perhaps due to school vacation week. Food was delicious and waitress attentive,
I am never disappointed on my trips to Rosaria. The food is great and staff is very friendly. Do yourself a favor and try the crab cakes....they are the best I have ever had!
