Roots is our go-to restaurant for a nice meal and a glass of good wine. The staff is courteous, and the food is always prepared just right!

Fabulous love the soups

We had a group of 10 people (although a couple did not show) and the service was flawless and the food was outstanding, as usual. I had the chicken dinner and it was amazing. Always happy with my experience at Roots

Fabulous crab cakes at lunch

We'll be back. Andrew was a fantastic server, not to intrusive, not too distant, and very engaging. The foot was great (short ribs for my husband, scallops for me); given the main course was so good, we decided to give dessert a try -- butterscotch pudding and toffee cake. Also very good. We had a very nice evening.

We're foodies, so pleasing us is difficult. Entrees were superb (scallops, filet)! Bread was cold, not just room temperature, soup was small for the price and nondescript in taste. As is true in most restaurants, wine is overpriced, but we ordered a Pinot Noir and when I asked for Pinot glasses instead of the one-size-fits-all glass that was on the table, the waiter said they only have the one size. Oh well, so much for enjoying an expensive bottle of wine. I repeat, it's not easy to exceed our expectations.

Our go-to place for a really nice lunch. Great accommodation for my mobility impaired sister. Perfect food service by Bert. Magnificent food choices, and low key classy ambiance.

The food and service was very good. The disappointment was that we were sat right next to a very large group, when the restaurant was wide open. The group was so loud that it made it difficult for our party of 3 to have a normal conversation. Felt like we were sitting in bar.

It's the first time we have dined at Roots. The service and food were excellent. The dining room seemed to be a bit noisy, so we asked to eat in the bar. which was much quieter. We'll be back.

Went there for Valentine's Day after hearing great things about it. Had great food, good drinks, and attentive servers. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice date night.

Service was understandably slow due to crowd but Andrew was spread thin but knowledgeable, polite and warm and he loves working at Roots.
Food was excellent, would recommend short ribs. Spinach salad was terrific.
Overall an excellent experience. Great WA wine list.

Roots continues to be our go to restaurant in East County. We have been fans of Brads concept and kitchen team since before moving from Beaverton in 2014. I must also say the wine list is one of the best in the Portland/SW Washington area. Very well chosen and a reasonable cookage fee.

We look forward to returning.

Surprisingly good restaurant set among franchise-type establishments. Large menu. Very good dishes and service. (But leave the kids at home.)

We made reservations for a special Sunday evening meal with my son and his girlfriend. We started with a bacon and broccoli dip which is to die for. Then we had a magnificent appetizer course. My son had a leek and parsnip soup and my husband and I shared a wonderful beet salad with arugula, candied walnuts and goat cheese. The main courses were fabulous as well. Two of us had the fresh king salmon with creamy orzo and vegetables and my son had the mushroom risotto. We enjoyed Rombauer Zinfandel and the service was exquisite. The only downside is we did ‘t have room for dessert!

We enjoyed our Sunday dinner at Roots very much. Service was excellent and the kitchen very good as always. Our entrees of chicken breast and scallops were both very tasty and imaginative , as were both appetizers. If there is better than Roots in Vancouver we’ve yet to have the experience.

This was our first visit in awhile (thank you to our son again, very good (but a but heavy in both our opinions on the dressing). For entree, my wife had the Mushroom Risotto with Dungeness Crab added ... WONDERFUL. Lots perfectly cooked with a nice sear on on the outside & fork tinder. (Sadly), no room for dessert. Great meal with wonderful food & service.

We asked for a table rather than a booth and got just what we wanted. We love the menu selections, and the food was marvelous, as usual. Roots is the place I take my out of town guests...the best restaurant in Vancouver.

Roots, the restaurant, is a superb spot for an extraordinary culinary experience, right here in Vancouver's Eastside, WA. One can count on a menu that is tantalizing to the imagination, and stimulating to the salivary glands. The chefs working behind the scene, and visible to the diners, finish their creations with great skill. Their dishes are brought to the table piping hot. No time is wasted from kitchen to table.

Delicious food and drinks and outstanding service! Had a wonderful time catching up with my dear friend.

A well considered menu executed and served with expertise. Every item our party ordered was perfectly done and tasty. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant itself was cozy and enjoyably quiet such that conversations could be heard and enjoyed.

Great food and service.

I ordered the lamb for $48 and while it was very tender and flavorful, I felt the portion was a bit small for the price. It came with potato fingers, broccoli and zucchini and while it was filling, there was nothing left to take home. I recently had a meal at the ilani casino @ Michael Jordan's steakhouse and ordered a big steak. It was $99 , tender and huge! I was happy to take most of it home and make two more meals from it. Sure it was $50 more than the price of the meal at Roots, but I don't mind paying more to get a meal that is very memorable. All in all, I do like Roots and will revisit again.

Andrew was a great waiter, made good suggestions for wine, food and we will request his section in the future!

Great service and excellent food.

We have been dining here for several years now and have never been disappointed. The food and service are outstanding. The menu always has a great variety of beef, chicken, pork and fish dishes. We find the atmosphere in the main dining area a bit noisy and cafeteria like, so we have our meals either in their intimate bar or on the patio.

Roots NEVER disappoints!

This was our 2nd visit to Roots. Food and service has been outstanding. Myself and daughter did not like the roasted broccoli that came with our halibut. It was too bland and charred. Seemed to be burnt. We will come back again when we want an excellent meal.
