On a busy Saturday night we were seated quite promptly and many thanks to Dalton who help with reservations earlier in the week. Our server, Joanna did an outstanding job and is to be commended for her fine service. Very attuned to everything during our evening!!
In for dinner before the show at Bon Secours, we were seated before our reservation time, our waiter was courteous and timely, the food was excellent and the entire experience was worth the money. We'll be back!
Concert and anniversary
Cheese board unimpressive - 4 hunks of cheddar cheese and some salami.
Server was uncommunicative- spoke maybe 10 words all evening.
I have eaten here on many occasions and things were good - this experience was not.
Food selection was plentiful! Choose and combine breakfast items, dinner, desserts, fresh seafood, and so much more.
Great Mother’s Day brunch.
Food was great and there was a wide variety. Selections were always well-filled.
It was Mother's Day so is very busy, however they were not replenishing the food fast enough for the buffet brunch. Each time we went back up dishes many dishes were empty of had been cold or nearly empty for quite a while. I always loved Roost for brunch & recommended highly!!! For the now much higher price, used to be $20 not worth it. Also why did they put Rosemary in both the macaroni & Cheese & candied carrots??? Runined them both for me. UGH!!! We also had a fairly early reservation @ 12:30. Food should have been plentiful & fresh!
We went for Mother's Day Brunch. They had a large assortment of very good food but it was pricier than we wanted ($33 per person).
I have not been to ROOST for Brunch in a long time..but this was a Fun & Wonderful place to spend Mother's Day with family . We were seated outside and had a perfect day and perfect view of NOMA plaza. There was an extensive buffet with something for everyone. I am not normally a "brunch" person....not as hearty an eater as I used to be... but this was a nice break from our normal breakfast out. I highly recommend Roost for brunch at least a couple times each year!! I will be back for cocktails / dinner some Thursday or Friday evening..a GREAT place to take in the sites and music offered on those evening in Spring & Summer.
Brought my mom to Roost for breakfast on Mother's Day, and regretted it :( We arrived early for our 8:45am reservation. Our waiter greeted us, then disappeared for over 10 minutes. When we finally tracked him down on the other side of the restaurant, he said "wow, that was fast"... We ordered TWO OMELETS. After almost 25 MINUTES we sought him out again to check on our food. Then another 20 MINUTES later (now we're going on 45) we receive one single omelet, from the manager. Not knowing when our server would show back up, we asked for the check. The managers response was "Do you still want the second omelet"? Why even ask me that?? You see that I'm being charged for 2 breakfasts.....
Regarding ambiance - The shrill voice of the chef as he barked orders at his kitchen staff in the OPEN KITCHEN at 9am, was not what I'd consider a "value add"....
Long story short - 2 omelets took 1 hour and the service was WAY below my expectation for the price ($18 breakfast, per person). I shared my experience later that day and learned that I wasn't alone.
C'mon Roost. You used to be better! What happened?!
This was our first visit to The Roost and absolutely love the place! Very impressed with the staff, they were all very friendly and helpful. We were there celebrating my husband's birthday. The food is some of the very best we have had since moving to Greenville. Definitely in the top of our favorite places and plan on going back!
This was our first visit and we really was looking forward to a great experience. Our food was very tasty, but service was not up to par. We had to wait a while for a server, food and drinks. Overall I did not feel it was to busy because there were a lot of open tables.
The salmon was excellent. While our waitress wasn’t especially grit, her service was fine, so overall a good experience.
We were short on time and let them know. They got us served quickly. Food was great.
Always great !
Flatbreads salads fries great bar
Food was great! Alexa, our server, was very attentive and helpful. She made the evening great for my wife’s birthday surprise.
Everything was excellent. I had the meatloaf dinner and my friend had the spinach salad with salmon. So good, and if you check in with Yelp at that time I got a free dessert which was the black forest brownie, oh my.
Horrible. Food was not good and overpriced. Service was horrible and it wasn't even crowded.
Service was terrible. Several issues overall. We were a group of 6 and asked to sit at a table next to the waterfall. Our server said that particular table could not fit 6 (which it could) plus the fire code would not allow it. Then we saw other groups of 5 or more sit in the same area. My wife questioned our server and she walked away! Bar service was very slow. A glass of red wine was bad....tasted like vinegar. We had chicken wings that were bland........no taste whatsoever......my friend didn't finish them. We've all been to Roost in the past and found them very inconsistent in the food quality and service. We gave them another try because it was "friday night music" with a good band. Sorry. No more.
Service was excellent.
Great experience! Taylor was an outstanding server. I will ask for him the next time I am in.
Professional waiter.. good pacing on food delivery.
Excellent food. Outdoor patio accommodated our puppy.
Alexa was an outstanding waitress.
Excellent food! Good service and nice atmosphere for outdoor dining.
Busy night. Was not served for a while. Once a server found us, service was great
Worst service we have every experienced anywhere. It was like amateur night from the hostess to the bar keep to the waiter to the server to the runners.
Drinks took way too long to receive. We waited to order our appetizers and they arrived before our drinks. Unacceptable. We sent the apps back. Our dinner sale arrived and after just one or two bites our entrees arrived. Timing was atrocious. The rabbit taco was excellent but the meatloaf entree was as tough as leather - you needed a steak knife to cut through. The chicken and dumplings were good. To their credit the appetizer was comped but I can't recommend the restaurant due to the poor service and only one of the two entrees being edible.
Excellent service and meal
We both had the Spinach salad with salmon. It was excellent. I will definitely order that again next time.
We went for Sunday brunch and the food was fabulous. We had great service, too. Favorites were the collard greens, mac n' cheese, salad bar, desserts, and drinks!
It was fine ... decent food ..nice atmosphere..just not "wow!".. tell a friend you gotta go there .
Best part for me is we had a big party and we were seated right away on a Saturday night without a long wait .
We came to Greenville to take our son out for a Saturday night meal treat. He lives on campus and is two weeks away from graduation. We had a very good experience. The food was delicious and we received service with a smile. We ordered different dishes and passed them around to taste. It was a little pricey for our typical meal budget, but I am willing to pay a bit more to know (which they state on their menu), that they use many organics and are aware of where their meat is sourced from. We would return again.
Hostess was not pleasant. Took almost ten minutes from the time we sat down to be waited on. Food was not good.
We love that you all had such great vegetarian dishes... We were so impressed with how good it tasted.. We are not vegetarians but we love to eat that way much of the time. My brother and his wife are vegetarian and they loved it too! So will come back again.
It was our anniversary and we wanted to celebrate it in good place. We ordered meat plate - was good, smoked rabbit - was too salty and over spiced, scallops - over grilled and not tasty side. Wine was good and location is good. Price - 130$ too much for such food.
We went to Roost for our Wedding Anniversary dinner and fell in love with the food and ambiance and we will be coming back every year for our anniversary. The food was so delicious and the service was amazing. Great night and great restaurant!
Wonderful brunch, many items to choose from; great variety.
The Roost continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Greenville for special occasions. The price of Sunday brunch seems a little high ($20) for the value received. The best thing for this visit is that it was not too crowded.
