Perfect Sunday evening after a show at the little theatre.
We love the brunch buffet at Roost and think it’s the best deal in Greenville. The food and service are always outstanding.
Expected so much more from this experience. The food was just ok and our service was the worst of all the restaurants we visited while in Greenville. We had a 9pm reservation and the restaurant was not busy at that time for a Saturday night. We waited 11 minutes after we were seated to get drinks, were served our appetizers by a different person who did not say a word to us and walked off before we could ask for appetizer plates, had to flag down our waiter 10 minutes later to get the plates and our appetizers which were now cold, and I could go on and on. It just didn’t get better. Our glasses were almost empty. We did really enjoy the crab dip while waiting for plates for our flat bread which was also good. The meatloaf and pork and grits were just ok. We just didn’t leave thinking we would ever be back which is sad because this restaurant had been on our list for quite some time. Maybe just an off night.
Paul and the manager took great care of us. I cannot remember the manager's name-she is Blossom's sister. Meant to ask her name. They made us feel so welcome and treated us like family! That was a good thing!! Thank you for letting us sit in the atrium and visit and catch up with family!
Big improvement from years ago. Wished there was a pasta entree.
We attended the Sunday Breakfast Buffet. Food was very good, service was very good. Omelets are ordered with a checklist of desired ingredients. Restaurant protocol is to order additional items from the grill, such as waffles, through the server. Other items are available, including desserts, are available from the buffet.
Server was not meeting our needs and seemed to have multiple other tables. Had to keep asking for water & coffee refills because she did not check periodically to see what we needed.
The gentleman hosting who checked on our experience was very prompt once we voiced that the eggs seemed off. He immediately spoke with the cook & had it switched out for a fresh pan of them.
Overall, my experience was great like always except for the things mentioned above!
Food was good as was the service
Our meal at Roost was delicious - boneless pork chops with cranberry reduction, creamed sweet potatoes, and outstanding roasted Brussels sprouts. Service was outstanding. Since the Friday night concert was going on, we appreciated our table away from the patio.
Roost never fails to impress. Great servers and delicious food at a very reasonable price make this a wonderful choice for a Sunday brunch. Love the unique seating choices and variety of bar drinks. Yum!
My bill came to $28.09. I paid with a $100 bill. Change should have been $71.91. The waitress brought back my change and it was 3 $20’s and 2 $70.00. Either the waitress planned on a bigger tip than I was planning on giving or she couldn’t count. It’s hard to believe that she didn’t have a computer to tell her how much to give back. I was going to tip $10 on my $28.09 bill. But when she kept the change for herself I shortened my tip to $5. She still made over 20% but geez do some math or be honest.
I love that the Roost is close to the live band on Friday nights. I would love to have the music continue until closing even if it is a DJ. I love the outside seating and the location of the Roost. I love the hot wings, though last week they were as tasty as normal. The servers and staff are very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Family dinner in environment that provided upscale menu and an ambiance supportive of table conversation.
We had the Sunday brunch. It was very good.
I was here for a birthday dinner. The waitress was very kind, and the food was spectacular! A little pricy, but worth it, and highly recommended. Will definitely be back.
It was such a good meal!
The service and food were fantastic. The fried green tomatoes, duck flatbread and filet were excellent choices. Our server Melanie was excellent at providing recommendations and giving follow up during our meal. She was very hospitable and made you feel welcome. Our first time dining at The Roost and we will definitely be back.
I hosted a Birthday Happy Hour Drop in for friends and then 8 of us stayed for dinner. Overall the food and drinks were very good. There were a few drinks swapped out and food sent back but the server and management team tried to make it right. My drinks and dinner were great. I had the BBQ chicken served with the best Brussel sprouts ever!
Good food as always, and great atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I had been on the road for hours and just wanted a nice dinner and this place was perfect! We sat outside enjoying the running water from the fountain, had a great waitress, and the food was absolutely delicious. I would travel out of town any weekend just to come to this restaurant again!
We had a great meal at the Sunday morning breakfast buffet.
Their online prices do not match what you are told when you get there. It’s $22 per person for brunch on Sundays and all they offer is a buffet. No other menus. The buffet isn’t anything great either - pretty standard. The only reason we didn’t leave when we realized it wasn’t $16 per person as advertised was because of the waffles and beverages included. Overall it was good, but pricey since half of us couldn’t eat $22 worth of brunch anyways. Update your online menu prices and options....
Overall food was good. Half of us did the buffet and half ordered off the menu. Out of the three of us that ordered off the menu, two were served raw eggs. We sent them back and 1 of 2 came back cooked. Medium eggs were served with running egg whites. Buffet was great and chicken benny was also great.
Good as always!
Great food, fresh farm to table and comfortable convenient location
Wonderful dining experience and great value! Our waiter was attentive and there when we needed him.
We were there for a Birthday and thoroughly enjoyed.
One of the few places in downtown Greenville that serves real breakfast vs. brunch. The food was good and the service efficient. Good value.
Was a good place to go with friends for a bite. We needed a quieter, easily accessible place to go to eat and visit after attending an event downtown Friday night. This fit the bill, but because of it being at the end of Downtown Alive, our servers were nice but very tired. Some items were unavailable and the bathrooms needed attention. Also, the restaurant used to validate parking, but they couldn’t ( or didn’t) that night. Parking alone added over $20 to our evening. Quite a bit, since most is $5 or less elsewhere
All good. Snagged a choice table on the terrace for a great dinner and live music.
Had a business meeting at Roost the same night as a concert downtown. Quality of food, drinks and service we’re still top notch! Impressive bourbon list as well!
The steak was full of gristle, and then the waiter dropped a steak knife on my wife.
Late Father’s Day get together. Wonderful time
I was very disappointed in the dinner foods of the brunch. Meat loaf was dry, veg choice was poor. Desserts were good! Waffles were good. Bacon delicious, Eggs were ok but very dry and lukewarm. We wanted to sit in the nice bright cheery atrium. Arrived 1:00 but were not allowed to sit there. We were told we would not have service if we sat there, it was too late. ??
Always an easy choice..... comfort, quality and service.
Great food and service. Server Melanie was great! Knowledgeable on the menu and accommodated a swap with no questions asked. Amazing Brussel sprouts! Cool spot to enjoy the live music outside.
Table was connected to the cash register which was annoying. Pimento cheese dip was served in like a ice cream bowl with some ritz crackers. Zero presentation effort. Waitress was horrible came back maybe twice. Didn’t refill drinks another waiter essentially took over for her. Kids salmon was undercooked she never came back to check we had the other waiter get us a replacement. We were all finished eating prior to my kid getting his remade salmon. Manager was very nice and comped salmon and app. Not worth it with all of the dining choices downtown Greenville.
Nice outdoor setting facing trees. Inside, ambiance is standard cold and aseptic like most restaurants down here, except fir the roosters. Great different food, especially vegetarian dishes. Really healthy, tasty and pretty in the plate. Very personal and nice service. Will go back anytime and bring friends.
This was my second time at Roost and each time was amazing. I could not eat all of my food it was even better the next day for lunch. A steak so tender and juicy just mouth watering. Can't wait for my next visit. Outside was great for people watching and inside as relaxing and cozy. :)
I always come to The Roost with I want Shrimp and Grits. The best in town. I love sitting on the patio, especially on "Main Street Friday".
