Rooftop at Providence G
Perfect place to celebrate pre graduation dinner for my son from Rhode Island College!. Our waiter was awesome meeting our tables needs and the view from RooftopG is amazing. I would definatly suggest reservations to guarantee getting a table for a larger party.
Amazing! The staff communicated the entire time so it felt as though our party was being served by everyone! I didn’t feel as though I was bothering anyone, they made us feel at home, and gave us the best recommendations to make our first time here impecable! Highly recommend the fig fusion cocktail!!
I’d recommend the rooftop for the ambiance and drinks. Not for food, they ran out of everything because of a wedding party. Not many gluten free or vegan options. Great spot for drinks though!
Went before a show at the PPAC and just had some apps and drinks, at ~6:45 they were already out of oysters and pork tacos which seemed very odd, the apps that we did order were ok, drinks were good and the atmosphere and service were very good. Would try again.
Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice venue. Service was not that great. We walked in and stood there for a good 5 minutes since we had a reservation. A group 3 employees (1 hostess, 2 wait staff) were more interested in their own conversation. We finally got their attention, thanks to the DJ. They proceeded to seat us inside, even though we had reserved outside seating. Then we waited for a solid 15 minutes before anyone even brought water, and then had to wait another 10 for the server to come take a drink order...
I loved the atmosphere. The service was excellent. There was a acoustic guitar singer that was enjoyable. The food was good , BUT so overpriced. The worst part was the serving size were so small . twenty something dollars for a Caesar salad with shrimp . The salad came with only 2 shrimp and probably a cup of romaine. I wish we just got the pizza, but was trying to be diet conscious. The crabs cake were very tiny as well . I would definitely go back for drinks , but would eat elsewhere unless getting pizza.
Definitely a hopping place with a younger crowd! My wife and I are in our early 50's and good health, but we couldn't hear each other across the table. Didn't get to try the food. The menu had some options, but not too many for her (she's vegetarian). The drinks were great! So, we called it a cocktail hour and beat feet for a quieter place to have dinner. We may give it another shot this summer when the patio is open air (instead of enclosed with noise-reflecting glass), as the venue is definitely cool.
First time there. We ordered 6 different menu options and no one really enjoyed the food. Service, drinks and ambience was great.
I love the Rooftop and I would definitely recommend anyone who has never been there, go and try it. It has awesome views and everything is very cute and modern. However, this time there were a few things that detracted from the experience. The drink they serve for two people at $48 seems way too small for the price, but I understand that a higher end alcohol was used so it wasn't that big of a deal. Next, there were fruit flies everywhere, which I also can forgive since it is an outdoor area even if it is enclosed but there were enough flying around our table that it was annoying. They always have live entertainment, which is cool but when we were there it was not busy at all and it was way too loud. Lastly, the place was freezing. Again, I know its basically outdoors but it is enclosed and it seemed like they had barely any heat.
With all that said the food is always amazing! The Fungus pizza my absolute favorite! And the drinks they offer are fun and you can even add a champagne Popsicle!
Learned of this restaurant on Facebook. Had a great night enjoying the views and the food and drinks. We will be coming back to enjoy over the spring and summer. A nice way to spend an evening in the city.
We were there on a colder evening and it was of course a bit chilly. Looking forward to coming back in the warmer weather.
Fun night started with dinner at the Rooftop at Providence G and then the show at PPAC just up the street. Loved the calamari, thin crust pizza and the Arugula salad with salmon! Great atmosphere and the female guitarist played well.
Wrong menu was posted on the open table app but everything was still great
My wife and I went here before a show at PPAC. Great atmosphere, wine and pre show food. Multiple fire pits gave a warm ambiance even from inside of the restaraunt were we sat. The service was fast and friendly. Everyone pitches in for the service but our first contact waiter was AJ. He was very helpful and gave us some nice insight into the history of the place. Easy location, close parking to PPAC. Great take before a show.
Too pricey considering the layout and below average ambiance of the venue. The menu selection was small and room/music/noise a bit loud.
With that said we will come back in warmer months to enjoy the outdoor feature. The food was FANTASTIC and drinks well made. Service from Mike was Excellent and so was the live acoustic music.
Over priced for being served water in plastic cups and dining on lawn furniture. Service was slow and there was only two parties in the place. It looks like it would be a fun place to hang out for drinks, but definitely not a dinner out with a loved one!!
Had no idea it would cost us $45 for 1 pitcher of Sangria...we were very surprised when we got the bill. Other than that it's a beautiful location and very convenient if you are able to take advantage of the complimentary valet
The food was great and the service was fine. However, the seating -- essentially bar stools around small, high tables -- was uncomfortable and the background music was pretty loud.
Definitely the off season for this place as there was barely anyone there on a Friday night. Our meals and service were good. Loved the ambiance here and would love to return during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor seating and fire pits.
Great staff and great food!!!!! Will visit again once we are in the providence area!!!
Always enjoy my meals and drinks at this place. We had a fantastic server and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the fries and pizza.
Was very happy with the food and service, wish there was a little more on the menu though. Fig pizza was excellent!
Our dinner was a scene from a movie. Absolutely amazing.
Great fun to be able to sit outside, even in cold weather, next to a beautiful fire pit. The live music inside, though very good, was too loud for conversation. The food was very good, tasty and lovely presentation, but varied a great deal in serving size. And the kitchen was unusually slow. All in all, my out of town guests were pleased with the experience.
My first time at the Roof top Providence, I purposely picked a Sunday night knowing the Patriots would be on so my wife and I literally had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The staff was professional and Friendly and the food was okay. The menu is pricey check the menu out before you come. The bottle wine 🍷 was great the fire 🔥 and view was awesome. I would highly recommend this spot.
Fun cool layout
We were celebrating a birthday and the entertainment joined in to sing Happy Birthday with a beautiful dessert with a sparkler. It was great.
The view was nice we didn’t know if we could reserve the fire pit table, until we got there and asked and they were already reserved. That should have been an option during booking other than that a cool place definitely needs some new music
We came here last night to celebrate a birthday thinking everything would be fantastic and honestly everything went wrong. We were absolutely disappointed and disrespected by most of the workers on a Saturday night. We got a VIP table for nighttime and for the price we spent we would think the workers there would treat us well considering they kept throwing “VIP customers” around. By the end of the night, the workers in the elev
I had better food at a poolside. It was not worth the money and there was a bad smell not sure where it was coming from. I will never eat there again.
Pluses: fun, outdoor scene. The sushi dish we shared was fine. The wine list is expensive, complete with many bottles of very expensive options (e.g., champagnes for $600-$1,000/bottle).
Mixed: We'd read that the drinks are better than the food, and that was certainly our experience.
Minuses: We were disappointed in the lobster pizza, which had very little lobster, an "off" taste," and a high price, to boot. The arugula salad was all right, though it could have used a bit of something extra (salt? pepper? none supplied on the table). Our waitress seemed indifferent to the serious allergy we mentioned for one person in our party, and she served appetizers & main courses all at the same time--we guessed that she was probably trained to pay more attention to drinks than to food dishes.
Bottom line: this would be a fun destination for a group looking to share an enjoyable evening over drinks. Don't go with high expectations for an actual meal.
Definitely a unique experience and ambiance, but go for the atmosphere and not the food or service. We honestly waited over an hour for our drinks, and even after complaining the service didn’t improve. The place wasn’t that busy on a weeknight and there were other servers. The truffle fries were pretty good, albeit string thin fries and the other food we ordered was less than appetizing. The prices are pretty high but that’s likely intentional to keep a certain type of customer since it’s not terribly big.
Amazing live piano music and personalized birthday singing.
getting married here in 2020 and we wanted to bring some of our wedding party up to see the rooftop now. We are so excited to have our event here. we love everything about this property!
We arrived and were sat quickly. We told our server would be a minute or so and he walked by our table about eight times to three other tables he was already serving. Didn’t say he would be with us or even bring us waters until we had been there about 10 minutes and then brought water when we ordered drinks and I asked. Maybe he was spread thin or tired. Not sure. He wasn’t overly engaging and didn’t strike me as the outgoing type.
We started with the truffle fries which were delicious. We split Korean tacos and lobster pizza. To tacos were good not great. Not a ton of flavor like I expect from pork belly. The lobster pizza however was fantastic.
Overall I think the experience is fun the space is great good drinks tho slightly over priced since there was ice in my wine glass(? I don’t know why but I also didn’t question it). The food I would give an overall 8/10 for what we tried and it was quick despite the fact that they were still busy for our 8pm res. The space I would give a 10 as it is pretty cool and they do a nice job with decor and atmosphere. Service for this experience id give a 6/10. Not terrible but not that great either. I felt more burdensome then anything for this guy.
AMAZING rooftop, Great location A GEM for Providence ! Felt as though I was dining in Europe surrounded by views of beautiful historic buildings. Menu offered a variety of Healthy/Diverse choices. Cosmopolitan Fun place to spend a night !
Just an amazing fun place. We stayed the whole night. Never had to leave. We ate then we stayed for the night club. Valet parking was awesome! Staff was amazing! Good was to die for! Definitely will be back
Not a great place for a nice dinner with conversation. Great for young people to meet and have appetizers. My meal was not very good. The service was excellent. A great place for a younger crowd not 8nterested in fine dining. The rooftop is cool!
Great place! Love the atmosphere, tables and comfortable sofas
Food was good, service was rather slow. Definitely worth it for the live music and rooftop view though! Would recommend!
