Great location with great service. Food was ok with good salad and chicken sandwich but pizza dough was undercooked. Ambiance is the strong point of evening.
Very cool atmosphere! Food is average but that’s not the point of going to providence G!
Food was amazing, atmosphere was very nice and the music was popping
Ordered food and drinks, got the food before our drinks, pizza was cold ordered crab cakes that was $17 for 2 and they were about the size of half dollars. Pitcher of sangria was watered down and $46. Cool environment, definitely not worth the prices they charge, our table wasnt on level ground and it kept rocking side to side. I can honestly say I would never come back
Perfect after work gathering for a few drinks and pizza.
Music was really loud. Couldn’t hear myself talk. Wasn’t expecting that.
Amazing place! Good food and service , for me the drinks are regular but the music and everything else on point .
As always, the Providence G Rooftop was excellent.
Meeting up with old friends
Our reservations were cancelled for a private party without notice. I made the trip with my girlfriend for her birthday only to find out we would have to find somewhere else to eat. Not cool. Bad customer service.
Had a great time overall! We had originally reserved a table for our bachelorette party online but when we checked in, they told us they were closed for a wedding party until shortly after our reservation was supposed to occur. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and said there were issues with the online system but that she would still have a table for us when they opened again. A short time later we were seated with no issues. The host was friendly and helpful. Our waiter was nice and all our food and drinks came out on time. The music was a little loud but not so much that we couldn't talk to each other. Plus the music selection was great for a night time dinner on a rooftop! We were dancing in our seats! Highly recommend for a fun night out in Providence that's a little diffrent view than just a regular restaurant.
Over priced! $8 for a 12 oz can of beer that goes for 10$ a six pack is insane!!!! Food was good but over priced. Bartenders sucked, waitstaff ok, bouncers hilarious.
I was bored. Was there for a celebration but I felt like there was a disconnect. The staff was amazing.
Love the ambience, would highly recommend if looking for a nice rooftop experience
This is a very weird place, where the sound system doesn’t properly work, distractingly phasing in an awkward way in and out. at 10 PM you can find families with tons of children at a rooftop bar with girls in tiny dresses. It’s uncomfortable for those trying to have a party being around small loud children and mostly inappropriate. Pick a scene.
It was cold and damp but those fans were still going and I’d argue the staff could use better uniforms, they look unprofessional for what the vibe is attempting to communicate.
Not what I expected and I wasn’t expecting much.
Just moved in
Beautiful environment, attentive service, great menu!
The atmosphere was nice but it took about 20 mins for a waitress to come to our table and another 25 minutes for us to get our drinks after we ordered (had to ask a second waitress). The food was okay but nothing spectacular. Overall I prefer the rooftop just to sit at the bar.
Went recently with my spouse. The food here is fine - nothing bad or great about it, I will allow the drinks are above average. We both had specialty drinks from their menu and they were both fantastic. So there is a split of 3 or 4 stars in there. The view is excellent, though the atmosphere was not to our liking. I think this place would be best enjoyed with/as a larger party (6+). Especially if you get a fire-pit space to yourselves. Again...a split...maybe 3.5-4.5 there (acknowledging that music that is way too loud and seating where speakers are booming right above your head is not to our liking, but others may love that).
The service....yeah, the service was atrocious. The staff barely paid any attention to us, I never got any water refill. And I had one drink and was never offered another....for a place like this that is totally unacceptable!! If you want to be a hip club/bar....then drop the wait staff and expand the bar area so patrons just do self service. If you want to be a restaurant and full service bar, then ensure your staff is attentive to customers not standing/sitting at the bar.
I have always said that below average location or food can easily be overcome by great service; however, even the most amazing location, atmosphere, and food is completely ruined by terrible service. Service is the most important thing for any establishment. And in the case of this place...yeah, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone based on our night there.
Decent atmosphere. Menu is very limited and it was even more limited with the pizza oven being down the night we went. Staff was responsive and friendly.
Ran out of half their menu. Didn’t tell us before seating us so no entrees were available.
The service and staff were excellent. The music was a perfect backdrop and not to loud to hold a conversation without yelling to each other. And of course the views and sunset just adds to the the occasion.
Venue interesting, very large bar and different sitting arrangements. Would be a great place for a large group as you can all sit around a large low table on couches. My only criticism is the sitting tables are quite small and we were a party of four. The food is tapas style and we each ordered two dishes. They brought everything out at the same time. I gave it three stars because of that but the actual waitress was very attentive and everything came quickly.
The night was perfect to be on the Rooftop!
We had the best wait staff for dinner and the after lounge.
Couple downfalls were waiting 30 mins after reservations due to private party.
Calls went unanswered and the voicemail box was always full.
Bathrooms were disgusting ! They got worse throughout the night as well. For such a fancy establishment the bathrooms were horrible.
Great place but the menu listed online is not updated. The online menu had sushi that was not on the restaurant menu when we got there. Just an FYI
Service was very slow - had to keep chasing a waiter down.
I came here with my friends for my bachelorette party. The space was perfect, and I was glad I had made a reservation prior to our visit. We loved the food and drinks, the ambiance, and being able to see the Providence skyline. Looking back, I do wish we had requested a table in a quieter area, since our table was situated right in front of a speaker, and the noise level made conversation more difficult as the night went on. Overall, though, I will definitely come back for a date night or friend date, and I would recommend Rooftop at Providence G to others looking for a lovely evening out in Providence.
Amazing view! We had a dinner reservation for 7:15pm, so we watched the sun set.
Great place to grab apps and drinks before a show at PPAC. Good vibe and nice views, will definitely go back.
The view is amazing, which is the ONLY enjoyable thing about this place. Tuna tacos were over cooked, our friends both ordered the chopped salad, which was certainly not “chopped” and absolutely not worth the $13 price point. Our server was inattentive and unknowledgeable. Overall experience made me decide to never return.
First time here. It was a really hot night but they had a misting fan oscillating which totally helped! Service was a tiny bit slow but they were busy so no biggie. Pizza was really good as was the arugula salad! They had a dj playing when we were leaving and I dug his music taste! Overall a great experience and I’ll definitely be back!
Great views---call to get a reservation for certain areas, like the couches or firepits.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and delicious food. It’s a great place to go with friends.
Our server, Molly, was very friendly and attentive to our needs.
The only negative on my part was the size of my filet mignon. It was way too small. But other than that, it was very good.
Went for PRovidence restaurant week. Atmosphere nice. Service was good. Cocktails pricey. Food not so good Disappointed
Service very attentive; staff worked well as a team. Four of us shared four plates and all were really good and delivered to table in timely fashion. Great location for enjoying city on summer afternoon/evening.
Had a wonderful time and dinner was great as well. We will def. Be back again with a few friends as well.
Thank you for a pleasant experience
This was our first time here. The music playing was loud, but was later overcome by the noise of people talking. This seems to be an after work meeting place. There were a lot of groups of people there.
Our waitress was awesome. The food was good, even though the menu is limited.
It is a unique place and we would return for an after show, or after dinner drink, but probably not for dinner.
There were 3 of us. We ordered a cocktail and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Waitress came back 10 minutes later to say that bottle was not available but they had another one by the glass. We also ordered a salmon roll and calamari. They came back with the wine and said they were out of salmon. Calamari came and 20 minutes later, still no cocktail. It came after we finished the calamari. Ordered salad with balsamic on the side. Salad came fully dressed with the wrong dressing. Her explanation was that they didn't have balsamic so she thought it would be ok. They brought another salad. Pizza was disgusting. We ordered another round of Pinot Grigio and waitress came back to say they no longer had any Pinot Grigio. We asked for the check and left disappointed.
