First timer. This is hands down one of the most delicious meals of my life. Thank you for the hospitality and the wonderful food!!
The food was meh...
My chef clearly wanted to be 700 different places than where he was.
I was hoping to be sat at a table with other people like every other teppanyaki places I've been to. I was seated by myself and sat by myself the whole time.
And I went home and promptly pooped my guts out because they prepared hollandaise sauce or something and it did not agree with my system at all. So, $125 down the toilet, literally.
The beer was cold and delicious though.
very disappointed in the meal prep and service considering how expensive it is. Defiantly pick Benihana's over this place.
Great teppan style grilled options (think Benihana but better in my opinion). Assuming no dietary restrictions, get the egg sauce! Always great service. The Crown Entrees come with Soup, Salad, 2 shrimp, entree w/vegetables and dessert. Always too much food but makes GREAT leftovers.
Always good food and good service
Never disappointed when we go there.
It's always bean great food and great service, quality chefs. My wife and I Been going there for 31 years always come out with a smile.
The dinner was delicious as always. This has been a place to go for our family for decades!
Lucky enough to have the best chef ever- Juan!!! Awesome chef, very friendly and personable. Interacts well with the whole group- especially the kids!
We ate here about 10 years ago and it was amazing. This time was a different experience! The chef couldn’t read the waiters handwriting and overlooked our Filets. 👎👎 The beef fried rice that you had to pay extra for was disgusting!! We also smelled someone smoking weed in the restaurant somewhere and it made sick and I couldn’t eat. For a family of 4 it cost us $300 and we walked away asking ourselves why!! We won’t make that mistake again. Bye bye Ron of Japan. I do not recommend!
This is one of the best meals that you will ever have. I’ve been going here since I was a child and I brought my girlfriend for the first time. Crown dinner with an extra side of the kogani-yaki is a must! Wow!
Our steak was well done when we ordered medium rare. Waitress asked how it was and we told her. She apologized and asked again later. My reply and hers were the same. The restaurant should have done better than a weak apology.
The sauce on the lobster and shrimp is to die for. One of my favorite restaurants in the WORLD
Great chef, good atmosphere, amazing food. We will definitely return and will certainly recommend to friends.
Greet food, great service would recommend. Always a place we go to celebrate Birthdays.
Worst meal ever. Too much oil. Too much food with no ala cart options. Too many children running around way over priced. Go to BeniHana if you want Tapanaki. How does this place stay open. Oh yeah and the bathroom was flooded and disgusting
The restaurant was once great. It is in need of renovation. The air handlers are horrible and you leave coated with oil from the smoke. There are many better choices to get your fix of egg yolk sauce.
We much prefer the Northbrook location. Valet parking is expensive downtown!
Restaurant is much smaller. Chef cooked vegetables last which we found odd.
Just to expensive for hibachi style cooking.
Terrible service, was being pushed out the entire time. Never had a chance to enjoy anything.
It didn’t compare to other high-end restaurants as I thought it should have.
Completely different experience of what I was expecting from previous similar restaurants
The food was delicious and cooked to perfection!
Father’s day was awesome! Thanks for a great experience and Wonderful customer service!
Been going here for over 40 years and always the best
Was in town from Miami, ordered the Shrimp and filet with Egg sauce, it was amazing! Thanks for the great meal and awesome service! Still dreaming of that shrimp!🤤
The food was great - a bit overpriced , but great Wait staff was attentive, chef at table was energetic and made the dining fun.
Fantastic food, outstanding service. All the staff was extremely accommodating. Will definitely be back.
Very good food. Not 'over buttered' as in some hibachi style restaurants. Not one thing was bad. Loved the vegetables. However, my sons like noodles vs rice and I didn't check the menu before making reservation.
Had to sit with two recently graduated high schoolers, pleasant enough....but being served beer.
We had sushi for dinner and it was mediocre. Not worth the price of $15/roll. Staff was friendly and attentive. Simply based on what we ate I’d say it’s not worth the value and thus wouldn’t recommend.
it was good it has been a while i have not been there there is a difference that the food is not what it was before but it is still okay,
Food was pretty bland, lacked flavor. Pretty smoky, I left the restaurant smelling like a smokehouse. Food could be better especially for the price. I wasn’t happy about my experience.
Gave away our reservation to someone else. Our server was absent and uninterested in helping us.
It was very nice, lobster tail expensive as Chicago tax....lol
Very very good for the cost. Excelent quality meat and lobster. Must order that Showgun.
The waiter seem to have too many tables he took a long time to initially take order and then waited around on him when trying to order different things he forgot my appetizer
My wife and I have been going to Ron of Japan for over 40 years. We now live in the far western suburbs and do not get into the city too often, but a recent visit to a Northwestern Hospital provided us with the perfect opportunity.
The meal was exactly how we remembered - absolutely amazing!!!
My wife had the lobster tail and I had the filet mignon. They both just melted in our mouths. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We will definitely make an effort to go again.
Thanks Ron of Japan for maintaining your standards over all these years.
Food was delicious, service was quick and efficient. A great dinner!
OMG still thinking about my food two days later. This place is amazing!!!!! A must try. Definitely worth the price
