We are BIG fans of Romaines .. the renovations are beautiful .. welcoming and very nice trendy .. waiting area is awesome!!!!
FOOD.. another story .. very disappointed... starters .. calamari was full of batter .. why ruin a good a good thing ... it Used to be amazing
Next salad .. where is the Caesar that we loved .. were we the only ones who loved this?
Entrees.. oh boy! The shrimp now has a funky red sauce ..And the haddock was very dry and .. might be better as a fish and chip
Overall .. Romaines is no longer a fine dining restaurant it is more of a bar and you should go there expecting a burger or lighter fare ..it's something the area might need but you should not be paying the price of the older Romaines and receiving a lesser menu
We never minded spending a larger amount for dinner and a great bottle of wine when the food equaled what we paid .. but now I will still be a fan of Romaines but know that I should keep my food choices to the burger or fish tacos
They changed the look and the menu but they forgot to change the name .. not Romaines anymore
A delight as usual. Wanted to get one more meal in before their closing for renovations!
We dined at Romaines for my husband's birthday. The food and service were excellent and met the expectations we have for dining here.
I would try this restaurant again because I got a bar plate hamburger which was not anything special but also not a full entree...my wife enjoyed her steak tip entree and desert creme brulee. I would try it one more time because overall I enjoyed my dinner experience.
Best dinning experience west of 495! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Food came out exactly as described and cooked to proper temperature. Friendly service and great atmosphere. Would definitely go back again.
My husband and I was told to try this place 4 years ago. We love it..The food and service are outstanding .
We have eaten here dozens of times. The food is always excellent, and the service is top-notch. Looking forward to returning in a couple weeks.
We enjoyed a quiet, elegant Valentines dinner with fabulous service and tenderloin of beef cooked to perfection paired with a delicious red wine. Perfect celebration!
Great food. Not sure why this place is never busy. We barely ever have to make a reservation. Service can be a little slow, and they often run out of my favorite martini.
We had a gift certificate so thought we would give it a try. Food was good although my meal; shrimp fettuccine was very salty. My husband enjoyed the scallops. I would be hesitant to go back as it was very, very loud and not contusive to a quiet dinner.
Good food and good service as always at Romaines! You always know that whatever item you choose on the menu will be delicious and presented nicely.
Nice ambiance with a good menu. Had a delicious prom chip that would've been 5 stars if it were served hot instead of just warm. Rest of the group enjoyed their meals, too. Good value for the money!
One of our favorite restaurants. As always the food is wonderful. Service is always good, warm and friendly atmosphere.
Was a great meal..my husbands soup was lukewarm..but was rectified..everything else great.
I made a reservation 3 -4 weeks in advance. When we arrived we were seated at a table by a busy doorway to the private room. We asked the hostess for a booth and she moved us happily but somehow I assumed reserving that well in advance would have had a better table reserved for us. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating but it left me with a ??? as to why did I bother to make a reservation. The wait staff was excellent and the food was good.
Romaine's never dissapoints! Taking out clients from the Netherlands, was a success with a great waitstaff, excellent food. From Fish Tacos and Burgers to the Shrimp appetizer, crab cakes, Bolognese. The meal was loved by our guests and we were not rushed in any way. Another home run by Romaine's!
Always enjoy dining at Romaine's! With their ever-changing menu and classics you can always try something new or fall back to an old favorite. Waitstaff is attentive and knowledgeable, dining is never rushed and you always receive great value. Erin and Richard continue to run a fine restaurant that I will go back to again and again.
My wife's duck with dumplings and my veal osso bocco were perfect. Particularly on a cold winter night. And the kale salad was a perfect start, along with well prepared and served drinks. I am taking a star off on the ambiance side, mainly because the place remains a few decibel levels too loud. Perhaps that will be fixed when the restaurant closes for a few weeks to upgrade the environment. It will be hard to upgrade the food, though a few more bar or appetizer plates would be welcome. Oh, and some of the cajun cooking the Romaines are famous for.
We are always pleased with our dining experience at Romaines.
Overall, a good experience. We requested a booth, none available. The restaurant was busy, noise level was not bad. We have been a few times and find it to be consistently good. The salmon special was delicious. The dessert was perfect for 4 people ro share.
Liked the food. Waitress needs some training. Lots of reaching across the table. A glass of wine never did show up.
It couldn't have been better for 5 "girlfriends" dinner out
As always it was excellent.
Having been in the business myself for over 20 years its my main stay!
Delicious food and service as usual!
Food was great for 3 out of 4, scallop special was a little overcooked. Service was really good. Love going here!
Great local eatery! Wonderful atmosphere with superb food.
Whenever I am in Marlboro I always eat at Romaines. Food never disappoints...always good and always consistent.
The food preparation was fabulous as always. The cauliflower augratin delicious. This was a birthday celebration for my niece. Our only complaint was the slow service. Our server and was very slow. We waited almost a half hour for dessert to arrive. I dine there frequently and was disappointed with the service.
Delicious meal to go along with catching up with the girls. Would go again!
The food was good but I thought I would get a bit more of the Jumbalaya. Dessert was tasty, apple pie tart with ice cream. My biggest issue was not being able to use my Open table gift card because of a system glitch they have!!
Excellent, as always. This is my go-to special spot. The salmon was wonderful!
Had a nice dinner. Went during snow storm. Not that busy. Very hard to get 7-8 reservation. Reservation for bar also. Great dinner. Will go back.
This was our first time dining here. My husband enjoyed the under brick chicken and I had the special that night, a Veal chop with a demo glaze and cheesy polenta. Both were amazing! Wine and beer are reasonably priced as well!
Never a bad meal. Love the wood grilled salmon, always amazing. Wine list, while not large, has many I like and the special wine of the day is usually good. Love the place !!!!
We have been going to Romaine's for years and they never dissappoint us. The menu changes frequently. There are always healthy options on the menu as well as new exciting things to try. It is our go to place for an all around enjoyable evening.
It was New Year's Eve, We got there about 15 minutes before our reservation and our table was ready. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable. We never felt rushed. The food was delicious. The only negative comment would be about my drink. I ordered a cocktail with tonic water and it was flat, they made me a second drink and it was also flat. We all agreed we would go back.
One of our favorite spots. Went for New Years Eve with friends who love this restaurant as much as we do. Thank you for another excellent meal.
Once again we enjoyed a delicious dinner with excellent service. Even though it was New Year's Eve, we were seated at our reserved time. We have never been disappointed with Romaines.
Great food and atmosphere. Second year in a row of less than stellar service on New Years Eve. As soon as the server realized we weren't drinking she couldn't get rid of us soon enough. We have been there other times with much better service.
