Romaine's Ratings and Reviews
Romaine's is a fabulous restaurant! The food is outstanding. I live in the neighborhood and dine there frequently. The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. This time we had to wait a little longer than normal to receive our meal. The waitress came over to apologize and mentioned that we should leave some room for dessert because it would be free. What a wonderful thing to have done. I recommend this restaurant to friends and will continue to do so.
Romaine's is an excellent Dining spot for a Special Occasion or a reasonable dining spot especially if look at the Bar Menu. My wife had Chicken Piccata ($12.00) and I had the Chicken Under a Brick (French Bistro Food) and bith were excellent and Tasty. I always recommend Romaine's when someone wants an excellent Dining Place to go when you do not want to go to the Worcester Places.
The overall dining experience was a bit less than when we went four months ago. Not many changes to the menu and food arrived luke warm (prefer piping hot). Found a bone in the haddock filet and did not care for the vegetable medley served with the dinner.
The creme brulee was as good as ever though!
Having dined at Romaine's in the past, we knew that something must be wrong when we waited 30 minutes for a server to approach our table (even to offer cocktails). When the problem was addressed the host and server made sure that the remainder of our dining experience was enjoyable. I guess that evening there was some lack of communication with server assignments.
Food was cooked perfectly, service was good, and the new layout (probably not new at this point, but we haven't been back in 2 yrs.)looks great. It was exactly what we were hoping for...a nice, romantic night out in a low key & comfortable restaurant. We had a great time.
We have been going to Romaine's for years. We just happened to stumble upon it when we were in the area. It takes me approximately 1 hour to get there and it is definitely worth the drive. Since we have been going we have never once had a bad meal. This is one of my favorite restaurants!
I had wanted to try Romaines for years having read positive reviews about it and it lived up to is praise. casual yet elegant, the presentation of plates were great, everything we had was delicious. The service was efficient but not intrusive. I would highly recommend my friends to dine here and look forward to returning.
This is a small note, as nice as the dining area is, we were seated in an a booth on the perimeter with a view of a staff parked car right against the window. I looked around the dining area and should have requested a different table. the view of the parked car did not measure with the wonderful quality of food we had.
Had a great caprese salad, then veal bolognese that was delicious! Everything is great, from the bread, offered with what I think is called a garlic flower (not sure, but it's wonderful if you're a garlic lover), to the salads, entrees, and the homemade ice cream in a ginger cone - all delicious!
We have been going to Romaine's for several years- never been disappointed! A few years ago, they remodeled the dining room- added a second dining room and expanded the bar. Terrific bar menu- great place to go with friends to for a drink and snack. The food is truly outstanding. At this last visit, I had one of the specials- pan-seared swordfish over gnocchi in a light herb cream sauce- fabulous! My wife had striped bass served with horseradish mashed potatoes- she said it was outstanding, as well. If you have room for dessert, try the fallen chocolate cake, or the bread pudding- both are to die for! Solid wine list. The service is excellent and the menu is well priced-- worth every penny!
My wife and I don't dine out as much as we use too(kids and all) When we do dine out we want it to be special and Romaines is perfect for us. The food is consistently top notch and there are always interesting specials. The service is excellent even the parking is very good. In short we have never been disappointed by a visit to Romaines and we highly recommend it to every one we know.
I had heard about Romaine's from a colleague years ago, but had never found ourselves in the area at the right time. How sad that I waited this long to try it out! It was one of the best meals (if not the best) we've ever had in a restaurant. The server was knowledgeable and it was a fabulous experience. We'll be back!
Although some may say it is not lady like to clear your plate when out to dinner, I would say it wouldn't be smart not to when dining at Romaines ! Each person in my party throughly enjoyed their dinner. From the presentation to each individual flavor it was outstanding. I enjoyed a meal that included a perfectly cooked filet mignon, crab cake and asparagus, mmmmm The evening was further enhanced by the kindness and professionalism of the waitstaff. I highly recommend this restaurant !
Fish tacos were excellent - made from fresh haddock and nicely spiced. Mixed greens salad was somewhat heavy on the blue cheese and nuts - could have used more greens or other fresh items. Liked the quiet atmosphere and comfortable seating - good for socializing.
The meal was great! They had a duck confit on spinach with goat cheese as an entree that we ordered as an appetizer and it made a great starting salad for four. Between us we had the duck, chicken under a brick, haddock and the veal bolognese...all exceptionally well done, reasonable (as in not overdone or skimpy) portions, and our plates were clean at the end. Creme brulee was split between the four of us and simply topped off the evening. Service was very good...available as we needed but not right on top of us.
