Food was excellent. However it took 40 minutes to get the first of our seven sushi rolls. We were starving so after inhaling the first, we had to wait another 15 minutes for each of the subsequent sushi rolls. While the rolls were all delicious, it really took away from the experience to have to receive and eat all the rolls separately, rather try them all simultaneously. It took a total of an hour and a half to receive all the food we ordered, so make sure you have a lot of time on your hands otherwise this restaurant isn’t for you.

Great service and good food!

We were up in Lakeview for a comedy show and had heard about Rollapalooza. The sushi was very creative and the pieces very tasty. We overall enjoyed our food especially their specialty dishes. They were busy and the food took a while to arrive but definitely worth the wait.

The food was fabulous and creative. Very extensive menu. BYOB makes it really affordable. The waiter was very helpful as this was our first time. Very small place. Could use some sprucing up. Had a good time.

Delicious sushi. Competent and friendly service. Enjoyed bringing our own bottle of wine.

The Smokey salmon was AMAZING! The turtle roll was good too. They have black rice here which is supposed to be better for you and lower in carbs.

We have been to Rollapalooza quite a few times. We enjoy the variety of sushi rolls that tickle our palate from the hot and spicy to the sweet. We love the calamari salad and miso soup as starters. Then we move on to picking our sushi rolls which are always so good. We have never been disappointed when dining here. I highly recommend.

We were in the neighborhood for a movie on Christmas Day and this was one of the few restaurants open. What a good find. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It is obvious they specialize in sushi rolls. They were artfully presented and delicious.

Don't be fooled by the neighborhood vibe- this is probably my favorite spot for sushi in the city. Two words: BLACK RICE. Mmmmm. I'm not sure why this superfood hasn't caught on at other sushi restaurants, but I'm so glad it's at this one. Try it and you will be hooked! Staff are so kind and attentive, fish is always fresh, appetizers are inventive, they are open late, BYOB, and the rolls are on par with some of the best I've had. I can't say enough great things about Rollapalooza!

Nice and quiet at first. Group of 12 came in. It’s a small establishment and their group was very loud. Didn’t seem to mind the other customers.

The description of this restaurant says "we are not number one restaurant, but we do our best"- I can say this is the number one sushi restaurant I've been to in the city. If you are looking for great service, outstandingly fresh fish, and amazing sushi for everyday dining, a date, a birthday, special occasion, or even takeout, I can guarantee this place will not disappoint. Our absolute favorite, again and again.

This place is fantastic! The fish is fresh, the tequila roll and the crazy philly are outstanding. Seriously every piece of fish I've tried here is the best I've ever had. I've had sushi on each coast and this place blows it out of the water. Would HIGHlY recommend.

Waited like 45 min to hr for food

This was a great date night stop on a recent weekend trip to Chicago! The rolls were very creatively made and arranged, and the fish was very fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend this to a friend! The rolls we got were Tequila, Smokey, and the Crazy Philly, and we couldn't pick a favorite! Great variation in flavors.

This place gives you an option of soy paper instead of seaweed. It was very accommodating to my preference.

Went here with my girlfriends and brought a few bottles of wine. Excellent quick service and the sushi tasted phenomenal ! First time trying the spicy miso soup and it was awesome! Will be back for sure.

We stopped here for an early dinner on a Friday night and we were the only ones there. The food was excellent and the service was good. Server did not offer drink refills, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

We tried this restaurant because of the great reviews and it was definitely an awesome experience. Sushi was fresh and tasty and we loved the selection available . Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Will come back again.

Simply put, this is the best sushi restaurant in Chicago. I am from South Florida, so I have had a hard time with fish not tasting fresh, but it;s definitely fresh here. On top of that, they have some great creative rolls. I make everyone I go with try the Anne...Thumbs Up roll which is so good and has a flavor profile that vastly exceeded what I had expected. The Ocean Vinaigrette roll is also wonderful in that the flavors are great and the roll is refreshing. Those are my top two favorites but others that are also quite good include the Tequila, Garlic Salmon, and German rolls. The staff is super friendly and helpful,and to top it off, it is a BYOB with no corking fee!

This is definitely my favorite sushi spot in Chicago. My girlfriend keeps trying to get me to try other places, but we keep going back to Rollapalooza. :)

It was amazing food, a loud group came in for the second half of the meal which wasn't great. But the rolls were unique, delicious, and a great value for how many pieces we got. Definitely will come back!

The atmosphere was great the service was great our server made excellent recommendations, the Sushi was to die for I have been a couple times before usually get the same stuff but tonight I was with friends and wanted to try some new stuff and our server came through for us with outstanding recommendations! Must try the Cloud Nine, the Snow White, and of course the the simple but so good Spicy Tuna roll!! Great place highly recommend this for other to try!!!!
