Roku Ratings and Reviews
It was my sons birthday and we asked for a specific dessert beforehand. The server asked us if we wanted dessert 3 times which became awkward. Then the manager came over, acknowledged his birthday but still no dessert. I finally had to go up front and remind them.
The best romantic dinner my girlfreind and i have ever been to. Staff was amazing, and we ordered the omasake (spelling?) And it was a great experience trying the randomly cheif chosen sashime and sushi. It wasnt just another dinner.. it was a great experience.
Thanks again Roku!
Generally, the evening was nice, except at the end it took over 25 minutes to get a check and get it processed so we could leave. The waiter absolutely ignored us after out meal was served and we had to get a manager to finally take out credit card and get us out. Not acceptable! We had to get to the airport and home to relieve a babysitter, and it was impossible to get the waiter's attention. It kind of ruined the nice evening we were sharing with out son and daughter-in -law.
I was trying to ask a gentleman waiter a question about what dish he had in his hands, because I wanted to order it. He ignored me and signaled another waiter to come to my table. The waiter who came to my table apologized for the other waiters behavior. Not sure why this guy would have a chip on his shoulder when a customer is politely trying to ask him a question. By the apology I received from the other waiter, it was obvious it wasn't the first time he had been rude. If Roku knows they have a rude staff member, I would hope they would do something about it.
The food is always very fresh and tasty. The variety and choices available are fantastic. The people are super friendly and attentive. We always have a great meal there and the Omakase (chef's choice) is fantastic. Large groups and small parties have no problem getting seated. The desserts and something you should definitely experience.
This is a beautiful restaurant just off the Sunset Strip on the border of Beverlu Hills It was a busy Saturday night and they seated us early (no wait at all! And it was very busy!) with a smile at a lovely window side view table. Great music and a vibrant scene with fabulous cocktails . We were offered lychee sake shots on the house. They have a gorgeous “sake” party room in the back. I love the lighting inside. I’m sorry to say it but the food just isn’t as fabulous as the restaurant ambiance. The lobster roll was chewy and everything was bland. We ordered a spicy salmon roll and it was literally a plain salmon roll with drops of what tasted like sriracha sauce on it Nothing wrong with sriracha. But that’s not how you make a spicy salmon roll. The sea bass with mushrooms was good. The presentation is fabulous and the desserts are spectacular! The chocolate lava cake is delicious, they also have make an incredible “carnival cake” with a flaming citrus n candy outside with cheesecake inside. I will definitely come back for that! But maybe skip their sushi (it’s hard as L.A. has such superb sushi) and try the other more fusion style food items. It’s a great festive place and fun for romantic dinner or a group. Kid friendly too as they have big booths.
Overall my experiences here have been easy going, and relaxed. The waitress was attentive without being too aggressive. Sometimes it is nice to talk and take time between ordering more food. I love the ambiance, and decor inside. I have yet to try the teppanyaki - but look forward to it soon. It is pretty expensive. I am a muscular individual who eats a lot and the bill can really add up. However, that is of course due to my personal lifestyle choices. Its a very nice place grab a bite of some delicious food and have good conversation. I will be back!
We went for our daughters 15th birthday with 7 guests after being at an amusement park all day. Needless to say we were tired and hot!! The minute we walked in we could tell they didn't like that we had kids(teenagers). The waiter never checked on us after we received our food. Someone else brought a birthday dessert but never asked if anyone else wanted anything. When we finally had our waiter come back they were NO LONGER serving dessert. Lame!!! We spent a lot of money and should've been treated with respect like any other customer.
Both the food and the service lived up to the hype. It's really good, really authentic Japanese cuisine but with a modern twist.
The server (Casey) knew the menu inside and out, so we took his advice and let him order for us. Blown away. It was like a perfect sampler. Save room for dessert. Highly recommend this place!
