Rokerij Ratings and Reviews
Actually sat in Richardsons. Why isn't that listed on Open Table?
Regardless, took my brother from out of town to show off this gem.
Mary waited on us & was fab. Gave us great recommendations.
Food is consistently good.
Love the smoked mozzarella & shrimp wood fire pizza.
In the past I have always loved Richardson's! However, this particular experience left much to be desired, as our server was not the least bit friendly nor helpful.
While they were rebuilding, we ate at Rokerij and they happily offered to make the chicken cordon bleu dinner item. They weren't sure why it was taken off the menu, as it was a popular item, but suggested asking for this on future visits, as it wouldn't be problematic for the chefs to prepare.
On this visit, the server said the chefs wouldn't honor the request, even with similar menue ingredients available. As well, the jalapeno hollandaise sauce on the Santa Fe chicken was completely bland and flavorless. Overall, dissapointing service and food, which is unusual!
Great food, but service was lacking. We went on a Sunday night and were scolded for only having 3 of our original party of 4 in attendance (one cancelled at the last minute). We were told, it's okay for Sunday, but if it happened on another night, we would be put to the end of the wait list. Also, although it wasn't crowded, our food took a really long time. So long that when the waitress came by to ask how our appetizers were, we had to tell her that we still hadn't recieved it yet (something she should have realized). Fortunately, we weren't in a rush and had time to wait for the food, that was very good.
Didn't understand the Richardson / Rokerij concept. The service was fine- we had Heather. We had made a reservation. Had to wait a bit to be seated. We were told we could order off of one menu, but not the other. No explanation was given. The noise was ridiculous. Between the kitchen noise (banging plates), and the tables of VERY loud guests, and music being played, we could not hear our table conversation. The food was ok, Ahi Tuna was over cooked. Loved the green pepper potato... Delicious.
The ambiance was amazing but the kitchen seemed off on the Tuesday night I was there. The food came out at different times; my potato was not delivered until after most of the meal was consumed; and my dining partner's fish was served long after the veggies were (which threw off the pace of the meal). I will be quick to return to see if we merely hit an off night.
This restaurant came highly recommended by our son but my husband ordered the ahi tuna and after a few bites wouldn't eat the rest and that's not like him. My dish was just ok. I had shrimp wrapped with bacon from the Richardson's menu. The shrimp was pretty good but did't care for the flavor of the rice and beans. It was a bit noisy but that would have been ok if the food was better.
Great, but they won't split food...unlike other nice places like Mastro's, Cartwright's, Tonto's, Beckett's Table just a name a few. We order appetizers, salad or soup, sides if not included and typically 2 very nice bottles of wine just for the two of us. The bill is never cheap! We'd rather be charged a split fee than not given the option. The meals are so large that one really is enough for 2 people. Especially if you want to enjoy an appetizer, salad, etc. If we come back it will only be for lunch where we just grab a quick burger.
Rokerij/Richardsons has been a favorite of ours for years!! We took our out of town guests here and they fell in love and have to go back every time they are in town! The manager was was very friendly and took us on a tour of the almost ready new Richardsons. Great food, great service and wonderful experience!
I had been to the Rokerji dozens of times before and it WAS my favorite restaurant. However, my visit on January 8th with my family for my birthday was absolutely terrible. My sister had to send back her entree as her steak was rare (and she asked for medium well) and when they brought it back it was like a piece of charcol. She had aksed for no bacon on her shrimp and when they realized they had put bacon on it all they did was remove the bacon so the shrimp still tasted like bacon. My father's hamburger came out on a modly bun and when he discovered the mold and alerted our serve all they did was take the same burger patty (which he had taken a bit out of) and put it on a different bun.
Our New Year's Eve dinner at the Rokerij was outstanding! We have had many mediocre New Year's Eve dinners out, so we were skeptical after making our reservation ... but on the busiest restaurant night of the year, the Rokerij delivered great service and even more fantastic food. The Prime Rib and Filet Mignon were cut-with-a-fork, Chicken Schnitzel was delicious, and our sides of mashed potatoes, roasted corn, and bock choy were awesome. The only thing that was slightly less than perfect was our appetizer which was very spicy even though the menu description did not mention spicy ingredients. Can't wait to return, we will be return guests for life!
Rokerij was recommended by a friend who says this is one of her favorite restaurants. It lived up to our expectations. The food was great and so was the service. We were there on a busy night. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The wait staff was attentive, we did not feel rushed or neglected.
This was the first time Rokerji has disappointed me. The service was very slow; drinks were delivered one at a time, with one person not receiving their drink until asking 2 or 3 times, and it was delivered after the food was served. The meals came out one at a time, with maybe 5 minutes between servings. The food was not up to par; the zest usually found in your dishes was missing. A very, very disappointing experience.
We arrived 20 minutes early, and our table was already prepared and waiting for us. The host addressed me by my name and shook my hand. Nice. Our requested table near the fireplace was fabulous. I ordered off the Richardson's New Mexican menu. Other 3 in our party ordered various varieties of fish. Food was above average. Good wine list. Very nice restaurant. Negatives...the booth sitting was a little strange as the back of the seating was far from my back and provided no support, despite having a variety of pillows there. I had a back ache after dinner. Also, after we paid the check, we still had wine to drink, but no one ever came back to fill our waters. We had to get up and ask for some more water from the host.
