Rokerij Ratings and Reviews
Love the atmosphere at the Rokerij! Sadly the staff in the lower bar area where just not pleasant. Our food took about 2 hours to make it to the table however once it was there the meal was outstanding. I had the prime rib and there was enough for 4 more dinners. I will go again next time I am in town to see if I just caught the staff on an off night!
We went here on the recommendation of a local. (It's there favorite place) We were not disappointed. We sat downstairs in a both with a party of 5. The cellar is the place to be. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was spot on. This place is the whole package.
Can't say enough great things about the food and our waitress was awesome. However it was so HOT inside it made dinner unbearable. We asked for AC they opened doors across the room which we felt like only made the heat kick on as it got hotter. Other 2 tables near us complained too and no management intervention at all... it honestly killed the mood...
Started 2017 off right with the family.... We had an amazing meal of green chili tamales, bacon Dutch pancakes and chipotle brisket and eggs. Plus, I enjoyed a pink grapefruit mimosa. We were the only people there and the bartender played 80s alternative tunes. It was a heavenly time. Happy New Year!
We take my wife's family there each time we visit. Hard to complain about the ambience. Very enjoyable. The food was mostly excellent - sides, NY strip and sirloin - but the prime rib disappointed (not as tender as my mother in-law wished it would) and my wife's arctic char was too dry and salty. Looked like they were short-staffed at the bar because our Manhattans took too long but were eventually made by our server. (We happened to go again the next night and the Manhattans were much better.)
The food as usual was delicious.
The service was severely lacking during this visit. At least four times we had the wrong food delivered to our table, and I think I waited about 25 minutes for my non-alcoholic beer. I went with my son and daughter, my fiancé, and my son's girlfriend for a cozy Christmas Eve dinner and I left rather disappointed. The only saving grace to the evening was the quality of the food.
Rokerij is a great place to take out-of-towners. It has a varied Southwest menu that is unique. There are spicy and mild choices for entrees and the draft beers are varied and unique as well. The wine selection has a choice by the glass for everyone. Suggest that reservations are always made since it is a popular restaurant.
This "4 star" restaurant was the absolute worst experience that myself and more specifically my family has ever experienced from a restaurant that is so highly regarded and recommended as one of the best in the Phoenix area. The Manager , Greg or Craig , was not the least bit interested in the fact that not only were our sides not brought out at the same time as our meals but the surf and turf which included king crab legs was brought out with a shrimp substitution . Our server Annie did not address it until we did. $45.00 for steak and shrimp??? Really. She then explained that they ran out of king crab legs and they would adjust the bill. We were not interested in adjusting the bill, we just simply wanted what we ordered. My daughter ordered salmon with the Sauce that it came with on the side. Yet they still put the sauce not only on top of the salmon but also on the side. Again, when addressed, they simply had no reasonable response. Rather they blamed it on the kitchen explaining "the kitchen made the error". The restaurant wasn't even at 20% capacity and we were not checked on at all during our meal, with the exception of bringing out water . Ironically that wasn't even handled properly. The person said they cannot pour the water for us as it's against company policy. What is that about? The manager had never come to our table at any point to address any of these concerns. It wasn't only until I asked to speak to a manager privately that I had an opportunity to discuss what had happened. He had nothing to say except "sorry you will not be returning to our restaurant." And that's exactly what I told him, I will never in my life come back to this restaurant or recommend their restaurant to any other friend or business associate . And to add insult to injury, the bill was never adjusted. The server, Annie , told my wife (on her birthday) in response to why the bill was not adjusted after she said that she would, " I forgot " . Worst ever
Funny that I received this email to review since we were told we had no reservations! We come here often and we have always had great service but this visit was not a good experience. Our server seemed very put out and when I pulled up our reservation on my phone the host just walked away. He came back a couple minutes later and we had to ask if they were going to be able to seat us. Luckily they could as we were a party of six.
This place was packed, so we were lucky to grab a reservation via Open Table, had we just shown up we would have been turned away. Our server was pleasant and energetic, but we had a few errors. My husband ordered the NY Strip and the server came back 20 minutes later to say that the strip was sold out but they had Porterhouses still - over a $20 difference. My husband was looking forward to the steak, so he went ahead and ordered it, and the steak was perfectly cooked. But why did it take 20 minutes to tell us they didn't have NY strips left? We also received the wrong entrees from a different server and then a side several minutes before the correct entrees arrived. When the bill arrived we were charged incorrectly for one of our entrees and $5 for bread. When you are paying $65 for a steak you shouldn't be charged for table bread. I think they are so popular they can treat the patrons however they want. I would rather go to Capital Grille for that much $$$.
The food was great but the service was terrible. Server had no idea about the menu and was never around the table. Didn't give us waters, wouldn't split a check at the end but said if we figured out the math he would split it up on the cards(makes sense right??).
Last Thursday, 11/10/16 we had an Open Table reservation for 4 people at 6:45pm for my friends Birthday. We were going for a dinner that we would be talking about for times to come, and that is exactly what we got. The only problem is, is that our meal was terrible. The meals that we ordered was the Filet, Halibut, Prime NY and the 20oz Porterhouse. The Halibut and Filet were exceptional but the Prime NY was cooked properly but was exceedingly tough. More than half of the steak was left on the plate to be discarded. The 20oz Porterhouse should have never been added as a special. The steak was so thin that it should have been an embarrassment for your restaurant to even serve.
On a more positive note, the brussel sprouts, Richardsons potato, asparagus and the mashed potatoes were superb as well as the creme brûlée. The ambiance of your restaurant was just what we were looking for as well.
In conclusion, we got together for dinner last night and couldn't stop talking about our experience at your restaurant and we felt compelled to communicate this with you.
Love the neighborhood feel and cozy atmosphere. Downstairs is really cozy; however, the music down there was unacceptably loud for any kind of conversation. Upstairs was much more mellow, and our group had no issues enjoying a nice evening and good conversation. Our Server, Stephanie, was superb. Very knowledgeable with everything there on the menu, and gave us time to relax and enjoy the evening. As usual, the food was creative and fun. Maybe they could lighten up a little on the tomato sauce that they use on the Osso Buco. Otherwise, it was excellent!
The Halibut was cold when served..........the enchilada was burnt.............our out-of-town friends that we invited were very disappointed. Difficult to complain; our server seldom had time to speak with us. Can't say we'll be back.
