   1) Took my granddaughters there last night for a meal. We were seated quickly at a booth in the back corner. Our waiter seemed like he was good, but things changed. After getting our drinks and ordering, the only time we saw the waiter was when food was being delivered. He, as well as the rest of the staff, spent most of the night laughing and talking with the bartenders. I'm 6'6", so when I stood up on 2 occasions waving my hands to get ANYONE'S attention and the only people that noticed were other patrons, oh well. After being ignored most of the night a waiter that was waiting on a nearby table came and started helping us. He eventually took over our table because I guess the last time our original waiter came I commented on his lack of service. He said he's busy training a new guy. I asked training him in what, how to ignore customers? I think I made him mad. New waiter was great. At the end, I signed the receipt and left no tip, but I gave the new guy a cash tip and told him he could share with the other guy if he wanted, but he didn't deserve a penny. 2) Got my order wrong. Tried to overcharge me for it. Then when I made them correct it, the original waiter's comment was that I should be happy because he didn't charge me for the 2 sprites my girls had. Idiot, the bill is over $150. Do you think I was worried about the price of Sprite? 3) Food wasn't that good. Its bad when a 13 year old and a 6 year old who've been eating sushi since they were babies comment about and won't eat the calamari or soft shell crab because it doesn't taste right. I had a bite and it didn't taste fresh to me either. We took it home for the dogs.

   We had a reservation and it took over 30 minutes pass our reservation time to get a table for 5. Unfortunately they were short staffed and they took forever to bring waters, take order, bring our drinks, etc. Food was good but the service was not good at all.

   Good food, server was attentive, music via speakers quite loud, almost too loud...overall very good dining experience

   Thank goodness the food was decent because the service and ambience leave much to be desired. We made the mistake of thinking this would be a nice date night restaurant but the music (although good) was way too loud, leaving everyone around us chatting even louder. We were seated by the host and after 20 mins of waiting around, a busser came by with water, after which we couldn't find any waiters to flag down (just a couple of bussers wandering around looking for empty plates). We almost left altogether. After another 10 mins, our "host" swung by to take our order. There's a chance they were short-staffed due to it being Labor Day weekend but considering Rok is in a prime location and Hermosa Fiesta was going on, this was surprising to us. The seats were so uncomfortably sunken in and in desperate need of re-padding and reupholstery. We were relieved when the food finally showed up. We enjoyed our appetizer (monkey balls) and the 4 rolls we got. The food seemed fresh and the combination of ingredients went well together. We then quickly asked for our check out of fear that we'd have to sit around waiting for it as we saw with another party. Interestingly enough, there wasn't a single female on staff. The place itself felt like it was trying to be too many things at once - a club (due to the blaring music), a "fancy-ish" restaurant (due to the interior design), and a sports bar (due to what was on TV and the general casual atmosphere). If it weren't for the decent food, I really felt like I could see this restaurant ending up on Kitchen Nightmares one day. I truly hope they step up their service soon!
