Very good! Try the bread and butter fried pickle with homemade ranch!
I've had lunch and dinner here many times and most of them have been good to great. This lunch experience was not good. There was a large family with many very young children who were screaming, not talking loud, but screaming for over an hour. The group next to us stood up and asked the staff to do something and were told to sit down and respect the fact that this family was sitting in the "family" section. The waitress then apologized to the loud family for the disrespectful customer. I was there for a business meeting and it was an awkward and uncomfortable situation. On top of it being loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. I was disappointed with how the staff and management handled the entire ordeal.
We had a meal here before going to a soccer game. The wings were really good. The place is a bit noisy - sometimes it was hard to hear what my girlfriend was saying.
Had lunch at Rohr's on a Tuesday. Service was slow, but food was excellent and a good value. Noise is always an issue for those of us who are hearing impaired, but the corner room seating helped.
Great food and great service
Underwhelming. So many non-vanilla alternatives available.
Brought friend for birthday lunch and it was wonderful
Very good service and food was good. pleased and I will return again
My husband had the steak salad and the steak arrived cold. I had fried chicken salad and it was excellent.
We've been to Rohrs multiple times and enjoyed it. Service was slower than normal. Two of us had the pizza, which was a little overdone. As a side note, I miss the healthy Irishman pizza (vegetable) option. The other member of the party had the steak salad. She's had this several times and while she enjoyed it ,she did note that it's better when they use the thinner strips of steak, which are not as well done. The last two times it's been larger chunks of meat and they've been more well done than previous times.
Good for lunch but you may have probe;ema with volume
We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated immediately. We were waited on quickly, but were never rushed. Our waitress was excellent. She explained everything and offered the Sorin menu when she saw that we may interested in something more. The food was very good. We will be back.
We had reservations after Basketball game & before Hockey game. I think they seriously underestimated crowd & were understaffed until Sorins closed. We waited nearly an hour for food. My fries were over cooked & lukewarm, my corned beef sandwich also lukewarm . I ordered Irish coffee which tasted funny & found out on the check that it was made with Kahlua—-that is not Irish in my book.
Very disappointing experience-don’t think we’ll be back.
The service was good, however the hamburger my friend ordered came out undercooked and it took a while for our server to offer drink refills.
Happy with anything on the menu. Favorites include steak salad and the salmon blt. The salmon is lox and so good! Love this place.
Good lunch spot at Notre Dame. Inside the Morris Inn. Chicken Sandwich was good with the bacon jam
The food and service Rohr's are quite good. However, I consistently find that the restaurant is extremely cold--uncomfortably so. The air conditioning is set to an unnaturally cool temperature. I am not alone in thinking this, as the person I was dining with also commented on the temperature. I also noticed others in the restaurant wearing jackets while dining. Nor is this the first time I have found Rohr's to be WAY too cold. I am afraid that until the thermostat is set to a more reasonable temperature, I will take my business elsewhere. It is that uncomfortable.
We enjoy Rohr's very much, eat there quite often, and take out of town guest there always.
I had Eggplant and salmon salad. The salmon, salad and dressing were delicious, with the exception of the grilled eggplant and eggplant croutons. The croutons were oily and did not taster great. The grilled eggplant was bitter and hard.
food mediocre and service poor. I have returned to this restaurant a few times just to make certain I didn't just have one bad experience but, unfortunately, the food is consistently mediocre and the service is consistently slow/poor.
Food was good and service was great. Place got very noisy but we were done by then.
Always excellent. Love to have quick lunches at Rohr’s. Thanks!
The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. They offer some unusual combinations that I haven't tried before. If you're limited on time, let them know and they'll accommodate you.
Great chicken sandwich. There for notre dame game. Busy
So first of all use open table and get reservations if you intend to go on a football weekend. If we didnt have reservations it would have been a disaster. Make sure you're early as parking can be a challenge.
All that said, even with the craziness of the football weekend, the wait staff were unfailing upbeat, the food was great and came quickly -and the prices really made sense - It was a great answer to the question of how we'd get food on campus at Notre Dame.
Rohr's is extremely noisy and crowded whenever there is anything going on on campus, such as the students' (and their parents') recent return. I had reservations for 2 on 8/17 and had to be escorted to Sorin's because it was impossible to have a conversation at Rohr's. Our reservation for 3 on 8/18 was somewhat better because our table was immediately next to the door and against a wall. Service was excellent, so was food. Nice, large portions.
Service is very slow. There does not seem to be consistency in the menu. One day the lobster roll is very good another day it is served on a hotdog bun. The turkey sandwich was on toasted bread and not on a bun as in the past. I will not be returning.
Was perfect place to visit with my grandaughter and roomate wholive on campus.
Service was lousy - it takes forever to get your food.
It was a football weekend and they were understaffed. Food was tasty, but menu was limited.
We arrived on time for an 11:00 a.m. lunch reservation. There was no one in the front area to greet us when we arrived and the the bar waiter shooed us out of the bar area with teenagers very curtly. Just sent us to the dining area where we found ourselves a table. Waitress was friendly but our food took a long time even though we (the four of us in my family) were the only ones in the dining area (a few others were in the bar area). We enjoyed the squash soup and my son had a pizza he liked.
except for the coffee, the food was wonderful. But then I prefer strong coffee,
I had lunch at Rohr's with a co-worker. We were seated in a corner, which was about the only thing that went our way at this meal.
Our server was unfriendly and inattentive. She noticed, but chose to ignore, our decision not to eat an undercooked (bacon) appetizer, which we sent back to the kitchen. I would have given her a pass on this lackluster performance, but the restaurant was mostly empty.
Our food was fine, but not anything special.
I have been to Rohr's many times in the past without this type of poor service. I have no plans to return soon.
4 of us were together for a birthday luncheon. Only 1 of us enjoyed her meal. The other 3 ordered Caesar Salads (2 with chicken and 1 without). To our surprise (and from now on we will read the fine print) the salad was served with 3 anchovies on top of the lettuce. This ruined the taste of the entire salad -- even though we removed the anchovies, the lettuce was infected with the anchovies taste. We all were very disappointed and didn't eat our lunch. Very expensive for walking away hungry. Also, by accident, the server knocked over a glass of ice water on our table. She never apologized for this -- only said something like, "I need to go home." She did clean up the dripping water and had assistance getting the ice off the center of the table. For a meal that was to celebrate a birthday, not only were we surprised by the total cost ($60), we were very disappointed in the food. It'll be a while before heading back for lunch.
Sometimes the service is very slow at lunch. Our server did well. I think the kitchen is slow.
The service is too slow, it is fit for football parties and not for lunches with visiting guests on the campus. The hosts and waiters should come and check whether the customers need any thing else. I prefer Legend over Rohr's.
Your choices above should also include "none of the above" , noise level "too high" or uncomfortable" or "ot likely to reccomend"
We went for lunch. There were 4 of us. The buffet is priced well. The atmosphere is great!
Great little gastro pub on the campus of Notre Dame in the Morris Inn. Free valet with your purchase of food! The menu is short but varied. My favorite is the "buffet" option for weekday lunches. It's not a traditional buffet in that there are many options to pick from, but the food choices are delicious and the price - $10 - is awesome!
My only complaint with my last trip is that our waiter was not particularly sociable. He wasn't particularly rude but he didn't go out of his way to make me feel welcome either.
That said, delicious food can often overcome distant and not very engaging wait staff.
Service was great and loved the buffet
Loved Rohr's! Salad was great. Would have liked rolls with it, and coffee got cold and second cup was never offered (had to ask after I finished first cold cup), but overall was very nice and a great place for a reasonably priced, healthy and delicious lunch with a friend.
