About Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar

Every day funk is what going Rogue is all about. Crazy tall light fixtures and walls that glow set against sand-blasted brick and well-worn hardwood floors.
Menu-wise, going Rogue means doing things in the kitchen others said couldn’t be done. Like a completely fresh burger served medium-rare to make it the juiciest and best tasting in town. Or corn-dogs your not supposed to want but secretly crave.
Going Rogue means your horizons are greater than the “usual suspects” of chain restaurants. Rogue gives it’s customer an eclectic enough offering of food and surroundings, that they can feel and be themselves. You can go Rogue when you’re slumming, you can go Rogue when you need to impress. You can go Rogue with a date, your mates or with your boss.
Best of all, you can afford to go Rogue every day of the week. Need a stiff drink and tasty meal to get you through your daily grind and have enough left over to do it all again tomorrow? Go Rogue.

We heard good things about this place so we went for a date. The waitress was pretty inattentive and the food was average. I'd prefer Joey's or WhiteSpot for a similar type of food. The ambience and decor was really nice, though.

We love that this Rogue location is open on Sunday's. Perfect to take the kids on the way to Movie Theatre. Would be great if had more kids menu options. Only offer chicken fingers and pizza. My daughter has ordered the chicken fingers twice and too spicy for her both times. Would be great to add a smaller cheeseburger at an affordable price and seed-free bun. We would eat there way more often. My older son loves the bacon cheeseburger. Expensive but great size. Rest of us have enjoyed our food and drinks each time. The restaurant was slow since New Years Day but great service.

My co-workers and I were there to celebrate their birthdays. Before we sat down, I already informed our waitress secretly that we brought our own birthday cake and the hostess has already put it in the kitchen. Our waitress said she understood and will prepare the cake near the end of our meal. Throughout our meal, everything went well. I didn't feel like an entree in the beginning so I didn't order one. However, after I had my appetizer, I changed my mind and ordered an entree from my waitress. She confirmed she got the order, but my food never came. After my co-workers finished their meal, our waitress showed up and told me, "Oops! Sorry, I forgot to put in your order." Since all the other people at the table had finished their meal, I told her to forget it. Then she asked us, "Do you guys want some desserts?" The moment I heard that sentence I was surprised because I told her in the beginning that we brought a cake, and it's at the back kitchen. I had to tell her very loudly that, "WE HAVE A CAKE!!!" Then she finally got it. I still ended up giving her 18% tips but I can see that she's not really into her job. If you are a caring waitress, you would never have done this. Too busy is not the reason since we are all busy. I would not go to this location again as I specifically informed them it's a birthday event and they treated our event like it's nothing special. It ruined my original reputation with Rogue.

Had the burger, which was dry. The cheese topping had hardened, and bacon was tough.
The table service was excellent. Except, we later learned they forgot to tell us that we would have to leave early, because the staff was installing Christmas trees and decorations. Had we know initially, we could have planned more accurately where to go after leaving The Rogue.
This visit was not as pleasing as previous experiences.

I made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday. There were 5 of us so not a super big party. They seated us near the door to the patio. The sheer fact the patio is still open in November is strange but to put a table of guests (who made a reservation!) near that door was ridiculous. We asked to be moved but despite the fact that there were many empty tables our part was "too big" to fit anywhere else. The staff used the patio door frequently and occasionally held it open for periods of time (there were guests on the patio). There was no heater near the door and it was freezing. I don't understand why they didn't place us somewhere else considering they had a week to know we were coming (did I mention I made a reservation?). WILL NOT recommend.

We have to give a shout-out to Gui who served our party 12 - one table of 4 adults and a separate table 8 kids, mostly 12 year old girls for my daughters 12th birthday. We all had a great time, Gui interacted with the kids so well, the food was delicious and it was perfect that we were in our own area. At the end of the party, the kids table & floor was such I mess I was ready to start cleaning it up but Gui said it was all part of the fun and made me feel not so bad :)
I also have to commend you for your Gluten Free options - both my niece and I are celiac. She had the nachos, I had the 6 oz tenderloin with the bourbon bacon jam. The sides that accompany your mains are two of my favourites and the jam was to die for.
We've never had a bad experience at Rogue and we look forward to getting back there soon!

Our server was outstanding!!!! She was quick to say hello and bring us our first round of drinks. She was also very helpful with the menu and attentive throughout the night.
A great sense of humour as well!
I think her name was Ali?

Our server was professional, helpful, prompt in her attention to us, humorous and personable. We ordered several items from the happy hour menu and all were appealing/attractive and delicious (in particular the jerked chicken taco, candied pork taco, and the ahi tuna cups!). This location has become our go-to to start theatre and/or concert evenings.

My friends and I had a fun time. Food was great and service great. Noise level a little high for conversation but it quieted down after a while. Love the location so convenient to take the seabus and meet friends who live on Vancouver side

Everything was good with the exception that there is very little space between tables (restaurant is trying to maximize the amount of tables it can hold); makes conversation quite difficult as it is both easy to hear the table next to you and vice versa

Great meal. However, check the utensils - I had to change mine due to baked on food. Also check the chairs as they seem worn out. Again, I had to change my chair because the seat was worn and it was missing a patch. Not very good if you snag your skirt.

They were not prepared for us. They placed us in a back-up room with a waitress on her 3rd day. The food was cold and they were upset when I told them. They didn't want to bring warm food. They never cleaned our plates, we dined with dirty dishes and beer glasses everywhere. It took over an hour to get our food!

The lunch was lacklustre. The food presented well but tasted a bit off (Beer Can Chicken was hard to eat), with the exception of calamari. Service was inconsistent. Two different servers came around asking about the bill. Our water glasses were never refilled.

P.S. I sent a private note to the restaurant about a rodent problem but received no reply. I will not return to this restaurant ever.

The service at Rogue has improved greatly in the past year. In this visit and my last one, the servers were attentive and sociable (and actually seen to want to be there). Looking forward to returning, as the food and beer selection has always been good.

We were happy that the Gastown Rogue Kitchen did our Order right.
Not like the experience we had a t the Coal Harbour Rogue we commented on our last visit a couple of weeks ago. I would have thought that the Coal Harbour Rogue would of come back about our comment but I guess they are not concerned about Customer Service.
Over all we had a great time at the Gastown Rogue but will not visit their other location.

My only complaint is that the fries are not hot. I don't like fries that have clearly been sitting under the lights and are now warm at best. The cooks should avoid the temptation to cook the fries so far ahead of the meal being served...I understand it is easier but not tasty for the diner.

I ordered a filet, my guest ordered a sirloin. We exchanged slices. Although the temperature and doneness was fine in each case, we had clearly been given each other's steak. In addition, although the potatoes were really tasty, with the crispy outside coating, they would have been more so, had the potato not been fried on a grill that had also been used to grill fish. The smell and taste were inescapable. Not unpleasant, necessarily, but not welcome, based on past experiences. We were given compensation on our bill (thanks very much) but I would have preferred not to have had it happen. I would go again, due to the excellent location, but with lower expectations.

Unfortunately our table was inside but right by the door to the patio. Although the weather was fine, the outdoors was too noisy for our business lunch. Our table was cramped for the inside guests and there was a lot of traffic going to and fro from the patio. We didn't realize this until the meeting started and it would have been difficult to switch tables.

The food was fine although the beef in my thai salad was impossible to cut.
