This was without exception the best meal I've ever had. I live in Asheville, and we've got some pretty amazing dining options here, but being in the mountains, fresh seafood options are hard to come by. As a result, I was delighted to find out that Roe had a spot open for us on relatively short notice (for an experience of this caliber) during our recent trip on the way to the Oregon Coast. Every course was simply incredible, prepared and served without pretense, and paired with delicious and appropriate wine choices. While the entrance foyer and the personalized welcome card certainly make one feel special upon arrival, the atmosphere and ethos at Roe is refreshingly devoid of the faux formality and stuffiness that one might experience at other high-end restaurants. The chefs at Roe focus on finding quality ingredients and preparing it to exacting standards. Dining at Roe was an amazing experience and worth every penny!

We were so happy to see that Roe was open and available for reservations. In the past we had always reserved through open table. So we again reserved through Open Table. We were surprised and sadden when we received a confirmation call/message from Roe saying that since we reserved through open table we were only going to get the 4 course menu option. That really surprised us because I did not see that mention on Open Table. We hadn't look at the Roe website when we made our reservation so we were not aware that there is a different site you need to go to to reserve for the 7 course menu.

We still went and enjoyed the 4 course with wine pairings but again was sadden to watch other patrons get the 7 course menu.

Another note to point out. We asked to have a copy of the menu with us while we ate so we could experience and note all the great ingredients in each dish. When we received the menu, the menu had the cavier option on the menu but it was not on the menu we originally received. That was again disappointing as that was something we had been looking forward to and would have ordered given the opportunity.

We plan to go again in the near future because we love the new location and want to experience the full menu. Unfortunately we will not be able to reserve through open table unless that changes.

Overall outstanding. Quite the gustatory tour de force. Every single item on the tasting menu was fantastic in tastes well as presentation. Very wide variety of seafoods prepared many different ways. We had the caviar as well, which was superb. The wine pairings were excellently chosen. Would definitely go again. It is expensive, however. Very expensive.

We were prepared for the Roe experience, having read the reviews and perused their website. We had an exceptional meal, served graciously, with plenty of time to relax and enjoy each course. We had the theater menu, 4 courses, and a bottle of wine. The meal was delicious. Each bite was savored and enjoyed fully. We never felt rushed, we were treated impeccably. The meal was very expensive, not something I would do on a weekly basis, but definitely a restaurant for seafood lovers and foodies, and the entire evening was designed and crafted to have the ambiance and the environment compliment the food. A wonderful evening that I'll look forward to repeating again.

The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The wine was excellent. The price was excessive. I do not think that any dinner is worth over $400 for 2. I'm glad I went but it will be a long time before we return.

For me and my wife this was our second visit at Roe and just like the first one - it was spectacular. The food, the service, the wine - everything here is perfect. If you consider yourself a foodie and want to try fine dining, than dinner at Roe is a must! We will be coming back again and again (for our special occasions). The price is high but the food is worth every penny!

Fantastic food, great service and overall a great experience. I just wish there was a bit more space between tables for a bit more privacy but otherwise one the best meals I've ever had. Will definitely be back.

We had the 7 course with wine pairing option. Each dish was deliciously new and wonderful! I found that our server took pride in serving each dish and describing each wine pairing. It was my husband's birthdayand the restaurant food and atmosphere made for a memorable evening. I can't say enough!

It's pricey but for a special occasion it was intimate and most of all a flavor celebration for one's mouth. Course after course of the most amazing, lovingly crafted , creative, delicious and artistic food served by knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. Superb!

Roe is clearly one of the top 25 restaurants in United States. I think Portland is overhyped has a restaurant city because most of the restaurants that do well in Portland could never do well in bigger cities like New York or Los Angeles or Chicago. However Roe could hold its own with any top
restaurant In any city . Trent and his team are literally fish geniuses

My meal at Roe was one of the best meals of my life, right up there with a revelatory meal at Chez Panisse in the early 90s. I was worried that it would be overly precious and fussy, but the quality of each dish overcame any concerns. We had the 7 course tasting menu instead of the 5 course, and although I was incredibly full, I was happy I tried everything. Service was impeccable. Roe deserves all the accolades it receives.

Roe is hands down the best seafood restaurant in town and one of the best and most innovative and inventive restaurants overall; right up with Le Pigeon and Castagna. This was my fifth experience and it was the best yet. My friend and I had the full tasting menu with the wine paring. It was a delight from beginning to end. Our server was friendly and informative. We heard that Roe is closing its Division street location and moving downtown. I am hoping that the new location is just as lovely, and quiet and food focused as the current sanctum.
