We just loved Rodney's. Soft jazz playing in the background, a fire in the fireplace, an excellent server, superb food--it was a perfect evening.
We finally visited Rodney's after living here for years. Wish we had visited sooner! Great menu. We will be back!
we enjoyed dining at Rodney's very much. the only complaint I could possible have was the mashed potatoes were barely warm, which I know can easily happen. The sweet potato slaw was also good, but I cannot eat spicy. Had I known I would not have ordered it. Recommend noting on the menu what items are spicy, as not everyone enjoys spicy food.
The waitress told me she could have brought me a replacement for the slaw if I had told her. Not a big deal, we enjoyed the meal very much. Georgetown is lucky to have Rodney's
Great food, atmosphere, and ambiance!
Rodney's was a choice I made from the internet , and it was certainly worth it! We drove from Westfield In, to spend a day in Georgetown, and time in Lexington. We had a wonderful dining experience at Rodney's. Quiet atmosphere, attentive waiter, but not hovering. My husband ordered the potatoe soup, and stripe bass, and I ordered the wedge salad and appetizer size lobster tail with cognac sauce. The smoked tomatoe dressing on the wedge was delicious. We both enjoyed our food very much. Will come back again, maybe around Thanksgiving time! We have already recommended it to Two friends!
Best food and service in Georgetown. Also best chef around. Food is always perfect.
Fantastic staff and food. Everyone enjoyed the evening. I highly recommend!
Fantastic as always! Wonderful food, great atmosphere!
Dimly lit with tall dark walls makes for a cozy romantic atmosphere which is ideal for a soft lovey conversation and a chance to feed the one you love with the most delectable food. Try the lobster bisque, crab cake, warm goat cheese salad, and the red curry chicken. ❤❤❤
The ambience and service were top notch but the price/value were not. Don’t let the five star reviews from Georgetown folks trick you into paying Tony’s or Coles prices
I made reservations for Valentine's Day in mid January. Our table in the main dining room was not ready at our reserved time, so we were seated at a table upstairs. The room was loud and more family oriented than romantic. The service was sporadic and the waitress appeared to be inconvenienced. Our meal consisted of appetizers: Vegetarian Antipasto and Ham/Crab Rangoon followed by Lobster Bisque and a Wedge Salad. The Lobster Bisque was more cream than lobster, and the blue cheese dressing on the Wedge Salad was overpowering and barely palatable. We both had Chicken Florentine as the main course. We found it to be dry and at room temperature when delivered to the table. It appeared that our food was prepared well ahead of time. The highlight of the meal was desert which was Pound Cake with strawberries and Chocolate Mousse, of which both were delicious. We were very disappointed with our experience. Our expectations of a quiet, romantic. and relaxing dinner were not met. The dinners were $55/meal and would have been disappointing at a third of that price. This was our 6th visit to Rodney's on Broadway in the last year and was by far the most disappointing. Rodney and staff were completely off their game on Valentine's Day. Rodney's will not be one of our choices for celebrating special occasions in the future.
The food service and atmosphere was exceptional. We feel fortunate to have this great restaurant in Georgetown.
Excellent food, great atmosphere
Amazing crab cake. Perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth steak! Attention to all the details... Rodney is a master! Wish I could post a picture of our meal here... You'll just have to go yourself!
At our table we had two rare food allergies and one friend with celiac sprue who has to eat gluten free. We were all well accommodated, and at one point our waiter came back and suggested one of them make a different selection. Outstanding! And the food was absolutely wonderful.
Bar overcharged for several drinks. Wine list had no dates which caused confusion . Value vs experience??
This place is awesome. Been going here for 3-4 years.
I only hesitated slightly to give the food 5 stars - the special of the evening - seafood risotto -was too salty, but the clam chowder was fabulous, the oysters were fresh and delicious, the crab cake was very good, my husband's steak was excellent and dessert - flourless choc cake - was perfect!
Dinner was delicious. It is always WONDERFUL. Highly recommend!!!!
Best Iced Tea. Service is personal ie you are treated with respect and
appreciation. It's a classy restaurant, but you can dress casual/comfortable.
The best steaks ANYWHERE!!!
The food was so good, the entree portion sizes very generous. The seafood chowder should have come in a bigger bowl it was that good. Why is it that lousy sides always come in generous portions but great sides seem small? Next times we will order one entree & EXTRA sides. While the desserts sounded lovely we had no room.
A group of us were in town on business and Rodney's on Broadway was recommended for his Lamb Chops - scrumptious - OMG, they're wonderful. Ignore the mint-demiglaze , it's on the side if you're concerned; I was so I didn't order it. I had the crispy Panko Grouper Picatta w/ capers that was such a pleasure to enjoy. We had a group of friends together on biz, so it was good times. I thank Mr. G Fox who recommended the place. Our waitress, Debra spoke of us to Rodney who was out to visit with us for a few min too. I will remember this experience for a long time. Thank you.
Spent over $100 for 2 people. Birthday dinner for my wife. For the amount of money spent, expected maybe a piece of cake on the house. Asked the waiter if that was possible, no was the answer. My wife’s steak was very good, my Italian dish was ok. They did have the table decorated with a card which was a nice touch.
Always a terrific meal and the service is terrific.
Elizabeth and her staff made our birthday celebration extra special. The room decorations, table setting and warm hospitality were just right. Others in our party, for whom Rodney's was a first, were impressed. Great cocktails, a good wine selection and some terrific cooking from the kitchen.
Top to bottom a wonderful experience.
Once again Chef Rodney delivered a fabulous meal. We dine here every few months and the food and service is always top notch! If you haven't spent an evening at Rodney's on Broadway, do yourself a favor and go. Everything on the menu is fantastic and cooked to perfection with an eye for detail. My personal suggestion would be to start your meal off with the Crab cake, then enjoy in the Delmonico cut ribeye, med rare, it will change how you think of steaks. Any of the sides are a good choice, but the corn pudding and the roastred garlic grits are my favorite. Normally I pass on desserts when I eat out, but I can't pass up the Carrott Cake...normally I take it home for a late night treat. Always nice to talk with Chef Rodney, he is very nice and always a gracious host. Treat yourself to the best food in the area, and visit Rodney's...you won't be disappointed.
The atmosphere was enchanting, excellent service and the food was very good but a bit expensive. The menu offered a nice selection of appetizers and entrees to please a variety of food preferences. We enjoyed our evening and would go again.
upscale-ish, tables are too small and uncomfortable. food was good but just above chain restaurant fair. the price was unjustified. for the same price you can go to well established top end places and not roll the dice on quality.
Ahi tuna special was wonderful! Great meal and service as usual.
This is the second time we’ve dined here in 5 months, & we live 300 miles away. We discovered Rodney’s on Broadway on a trip home from visiting Gatlinburg. We loved it so much, we made it a favorite in Google maps and insisted we eat at Rodney’s with friends after a fun day touring KY’s bourbon trail.
It was as good, if not better than the first time we ate here. Everything is excellent!
Elegant and comfortable; superb cuisine. Will make this a special occasion destination.
I made reservations through opentable and noted this was for a birthday celebration. We were warmly greeted and asked if we were the birthday party. When we replied we were, we were seated at a table with birthday decorations and a card from Rodney's, and Kellie took care of us. What a perfect way to begin our dinner.
Warm crusty bread was brought to our table along with olive oil, spices, with some cheese in the dipping dish. We had a nice bottle of cabernet, and ordered our dinners.
I had the Grouper Picatta which was prepared and presented beautifully. I had Yukon masked potatoes and sauteed mushrooms as my complements. My husband had the Butcher's cut ribeye and he thoroughly enjoyed it. His suggestion would be to ask for the mushroom gravy on the side so it didn't overwhelm the steak. He said he can't remember eating a better steak ANYWHERE!
Our dinner companions had the Delmonico cut ribeye and the pork tenderloin. We had nothing to take home because portions were just right and delectable.
For dessert we had the peanut butter pie which was a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner.
We were in Lexington with friends for a Keeneland week-end. We made reservations at Rodney's because it was close to where we were staying and "Oh My" what a wonderful surprise. The meal was wonderful, the service was exceptional and the ambiance was perfect for our get together.
We will be back. And get the green chili soup - it's perfect!
Every year we travel from Pittsburgh to Keeneland, and have added Rodney’s to our “must” list. Always, always great food. Especially, the service and quaint, comfortable atmosphere.
Deb, our server made our visit super special. (Thank you Deb!)
What A Find!
See you next year, if not sooner.
We liked Rodney's so well on Wednesday that we went back on Saturday! The service was great, the food was awesome & the atmosphere was perfect for a quiet dinner. Will be back next time we are in the Georgetown area.
Rodney’s is a gem. Great service, lovely surroundings and even better food. My filet Oscar was without a doubt, the best steak I have ever eaten. Made Ruth’s Chris look like Outback. My father had the lamb & it was spectacular as well. Make sure you don’t miss dessert. The Chocolate Sin flourless cake is divine!
This is by far the best restaurant in the area. Rodney and wife, Elizabeth, who works the front of the house, are great hosts. Great place for any occasion.
Use to take kids there for special occasions years ago and loved the decor, service and food. Sure it's under new ownership now but reminds me of the old days. Food was excellent as was the service.
Food was excellent! One of the top two steaks we have had Loved crab cake, artichoke dip and of course the dessert will definitely be going back
We’ve always enjoyed dinner when we are in Kentucky. It is gourmet dining. The Chef’s special signature dishes are a taste of sheer deliciousness! Highly recommend!
This was our second visit. It is truly a destination for us when we are in Lexington. My wife had the sword fish special and I had the grouper. Both were perfect! We went into the bar area after dinner and there was Rodney introducing himself to us and making sure we had a great experience. He gave us a little history about the building that we truly enjoy! Thank you Rodney, we shall return!
