Seafood
Rod ‘N’ Reel has been a premier waterfront dining destination since 1946. While feasting on delicious local seafood you can smell the salt air and feel the Bay breeze as the bustle of harbor activity unfolds before you. Gilles Syglowski, Food Critic for What’s Up? Magazine, boasts, “Superb. The fish was moist and delicious…overstuffed with a smooth, tasty imperial crab mixture-a simply delightful dish! “Jumbo lump crab cakes have been the signature dish here for decades but tenderness, juiciness and flavor also abound in our certified steaks. Saturday Rise ‘N” Shine Breakfast Buffet, 7 am to 12 pm. Sunday Breakfast Buffet is wildly popular, 7 am to 1 pm, folks drive miles for smiles and an abundance of creative fare on Sunday. I was there to celebrate my birthday and everything was lovely. I will be returning to celebrate my wedding anniversary on New Year's Eve, and I will be celebrating my birthday at Rod and Reel next year.

Below average food for a hefty price tag. Seafood wasn’t amazing, and the worst Mac and cheese I’ve had. There is a courtesy bus to take you to the restaurant, that’s probably the only good thing about the place. The service was decent too.

We love going to the Rod 'n Reel for a nice special-occasion dinner or just to sit in the bar area and have a quesadilla (but they do need more vegetarian options). Atmosphere is great, people are friendly, waitresses are great and it's always such a pleasant experience. The gaming room is fun and always nice to go home with a few more dollars than I went with! We love playing Queen of Hearts and hope, one day, that our raffle number will be drawn and when the number is taken off the Queen's board, it will show $165,000 (or whatever the winning amount is for that week)! Week after week I keep hoping!

Our second "Sinatra night" was just as enjoyable as the first. The service was terrific and the Italian (Northern, I think) food was very tasty. The singer/keyboardist was very authentic and great to listen to. Over all a very enjoyable evening in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

There wasn't anything particularly special about the restaurant except for their crab balls. They were fantastic. We had food from inside the restaurant and at a festival that afternoon. The festival food was good, but average as they served some strange food for a festival.

Inside dining was noisy and the waiters were constantly running. There was definitely an atmosphere of rushing around there. Our meals were decent. It is just an average place, and considering it is the only restaurant at the hotel, if you are looking to just hang there for a few days, it is the only food option you have.

We went for Spagetti and Sinatra, and it’s was wonderful. The waitstaff was on point, the food was delicious, and the wine was 25 percent discounted. Sinatra music left a lot to be desired, but still a great night.

Sadly, I cannot comment too much on the experience. We had a reservation for 4. When we showed up, they acknowledged our reservation but then provided us with a pager. We waited for 25 minutes and were never called and never received a signal via the pager. I didn't have a sense things were going to go well since they seemed to be grossly understaffed. As such, we decided to depart and opted to go to Mama Lucia's. We are willing to give them a second chance, but will likely go back during the off-season or when things aren't so busy. For us it was kind of disappointing. Hopefully your experience is better.

Had reservation and was seated in waterfront booth immediately upon arrival. Beautiful view and hostess was fantastic.
Waitress didn’t seem too thrilled to be working and that bled over to the service. Had to ask about specials and drinks were left empty throughout the entire dinner.
Ordered Cull Lobster special and it wasn’t enough food for my 14 y/o. Cooked well but quite small portion. Others had nothing special to say about their food, either positive or negative.
We have been here many times and this was one of the few lackluster meals.
Would still recommend the restaurant for a nice evening in CB.

My husband and I were in town for a funeral and wanted to relax and eat while remembering our friend. We haven't been to the area since our marriage 21 years ago! Wow things have changed. I started coming to the rod and reel back in 1975 with my parents. Lol. The staff is so friendly! Parking was easy! The view and food worth a memory! I will remember this special experience and won't wait another 21 years to come back. Thank your staff for us please, they made our dinner very memorable.

Never will we ever return there to eat at this place again! Flies in abundance, swatting away the flies to keep them off our dinner plates! Spoiled salad dressing that was suppose to be ranch but tasted like something that was room temp and rancid. Food that was prepared by an amateur chef left so much to be desired for the cost of the meal. Disgusting never again!

The setting is beautiful but the food was a disappointment. The calamari was tasteless and less than crispy with the exception of the full baby pieces. My seared cod was watery and tasted as though it had been frozen. My aunt had fried shrimp which she thoroughly enjoyed. The side salads were a nice size and were made with a good mix of greens and veggies. However, we ordered the balsamic dressing which neither of us cared for. It had an off taste. We both ordered alternate dressings which we enjoyed. The restaurant itself is pretty and pleasant inside and you have a great view of the beautiful waterfront walkways, bands and, and landscaping.

Went here for lunch. Not crowded on a weekday. Crab dip was good, but as is typical needed more bread. Po boy was Ok, tasted good but needed more sauce. Fish tacos were not to my taste, fish had a very strange seasoning. Overall the food was average and nothing special. However, as others have stated the place was full of flies. Which really takes away from the eating experience and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen.

We had a great birthday dinner at the Rod n Reel. The birthday guy was very happy with his steak, cooked just right, with sides he enjoyed. I found the Crab Imperial to be absolutely Bay authentic and plentiful. The collards were also traditionally prepared. The restaurant obliged our special request for berries and cream as dessert, arranged in advance. Wait staff was pleasant and got everything right. The food was not rushed out, but for us, as a leisurely celebration, we always had something in front of us to eat or drink, as drinks and "starter" fine assorted crackers and port wine cheese and butter were immediately served up.

The restaurant is on a marina behind a breakwater, with views of the Bay a bit further out. We were told it will soon be moved to be more directly on the water after renovations / expansion of the resort take place.

Always an enjoyable experience at the resort, be it at the restaurant, or outside listening to live music with a more limited menu and drinks. Laid back. Mixed crowd. Good vibe. No snobs.

We drove from Baltimore for a nice dinner by the water. We selected Rod and Reel based on the menu on their website but when we arrived we found out that they had a limited menu for the 4th of July. A limited menu without substitutions for the sides. That is fine but it would have been great to have that on the website to let people know. The food was just o.k. and the prices were high. I moved to Maryland last year and used to say I've never had a bad crab cake. Well now I have.

4th of July - limited menu but wasn't crowded and took 45 minutes to get just 2 entrees. Side salad I ordered never showed up but was on the bill of course. Place has a fly problem. I've had good meals here so I'm not going to say it was awful but definitely disappointing. Giving it a slight break since it was a holiday but it could have been considerably better.

Compared to my 2 fish tacos for $9.99 my husband’s Oyster Po Boy for $15 was quite lacking. 4 small fried oyster on a sub roll! When speaking to the manager he said this was standard, he did bring 3 more oysters, but definitely was not worth the money.

Riding home from southern Maryland we stopped for dinner Sunday evening. Host was very friendly and seated us by a window-lovely views of the Bay. Drinks were generous and perfect and our dinners were all a hit! My father, who usually picks at his food, cleaned his plate! We had flounder, swordfish, crab cakes and stuffed rockfish and they were all delicious. Too full for dessert but selection looked good. It was too hot for us to enjoy the outside, but live music and bar out there looked like a lot of fun-maybe next time it will be a little cooler. Can’t wait!
