Tim and his staff doing what he does best
Our waitress started out too busy to really serve and be patient with our menu questions for a party of 6 having a holiday gathering. The appetizer shrimp and crab cakes was to die for. Spinach dip was average. My entree was Fruit de la Mer minus mussels and oh so delicious. Service at the end of our event improved but the table was not cleared.
My experience at Rocky's was very delightful. Our waiter was very personable and the food was excellent. I took my date there for her birthday and will definately frequent that establishment.
Good place to eat, good food. Service a little slow. "Greeters" at the front door check-in grumbling about something and appeared to be unhappy about something. Did not like where we were seated. One of the reasons we don't go there more often is that we are ALWAYS seated at the least desirable spot which is by the side wall where people hang their coats. I asked for the front area "porch" and was told 45 minute wait. (I did have a reservation.) NOTE: MANY LARGE PARTIES SEATED AROUND US.
Great birthday experience! Lobster & shrimp fettuccine was fantastic!
We had a great time. Service was spot on. From the appetizers to the entrees the food was exceptional. We were never rushed. This is why we keep going back
Although The restaurant is located on a quiet dark part of 7 mile road, my girlfriend and I Enjoyed the appetizers (crabcakes and my cocktails). We Will definitely go back.
We made reservations through Open Table and made note we were celebrating a birthday. We were greeted kindly at the door and promptly escorted to a very plain room, beyond the fancy room with all the beautiful lights, people, and decor. We were given menu's at sat there over 15 minutes without one person greeting us at our table. A waitress came into the plain room, talked with the only other two tables in the room, looked our way and didn't say a word. She walked out and never returned to greet us. We eventually got up and left. We had planned to tell the hostess but, nobody was at the hostess stand. Awful experience. We went down the road and had a great dinner at Granite City. There, our waiter greeted us with a smile and water within minutes of sitting down. Rocky's was a MAJOR disappointment!!
Been a while since eating there. Good family style dining and food always good and consistent.
Fantastic value and ambience. Also a great value. A great staff and a wonderful chef
Rockys once again came thru for Thanksgiving. We love their bar for food/drinks, but really appreciate the choice to be open on a holiday for wheelchair folks. The food was equal to home turkey dinner and service was friendly and efficient. Thanks, from a loyal customer!
Rocky’s .... always rock solid and dependable.
We had a family dinner and wanted to do something nice, quiet and delicious... Rocky’s was the pick!
Great wine selection and oysters to start, then great entrees, steaks, fish and dinner salads. The beef tip wedge was really terrific, my wife had greek dinner salad which also had calamari in it which was not only unique but delish.
Son had filet and was solid.
Sides were on target and while we didn’t have dessert this night, options sounded exceptional.
Service is and was always first class and room was quiet, dignified and perfect.
Rocky’s: a wonderful tradition and getting better!
Nice place to go, we did our Thanksgiving there this year.
Always great - great service, great food - and great ambiance too.
My friend was upset because you didn’t have swordfish 🙄
Prices were a bit high for a not-so-great New York Strip. Very much an older crowd. Good service and the rolls and French Onion Soup were great. Wine selection wasn't good. White wine was served room temp. An ok dinner, but wouldn't go back.
We visited for the Mussel special (all you can eat). The service was outstanding. The food was just ok. On this night they had some plumbing issues and closed the restaurant early.
The Fried Calamari was outstanding: Hot crisp and tasty and kicked up a notch with some fried banana peppers mixed in. Would order that again.
Onion soup was cold and had a big piece of soggy decomposing bread floating under the cheese. It was not very tasty. Needed a splash of sherry or port to kick it up a notch. The onions were completely disintegrated. Tons of cheese though.
The Caesar Salad was just ok. Could have been kicked up a notch with more lemon or anchovies or a little sugar in the dressing.
The mussels were giant but they were pretty much tasteless. They were served in a butter concoction. Normally I would expect a nice wine-based broth at the bottom of the bowl. But these were meaty and fresh. I would give them a score of 4/5 just based upon freshness. But with a little work, they could have been a 5/5. It would have been nice to have some crusty french bread to dip in the broth. Instead we got these steam soft bread knots.
One school-aged family member ordered the filet. It was outstanding - perfectly cooked and tasty. She scarfed it down in record time. Normally she's a picky eater.
We skipped dessert which featured a 4 choices but none compelling.
We'll be back to try other things at a later date - just for the cheerful service we received.
Love the food and service was wonderful. Great mussels!
Issue with restrooms while dining made experience a little uncomfortable. Husband was afraid to drink his beer, and I having to go to the bathroom, made our dining a little quicker than usual. Just unable to relax. No body can predict restroom issues, just wish it was brought to our attention before being seated.
Once again, delicious!
November 15, 2018 was not a good night for Rocky's. We chose to come for "all you can eat mussels" and brought a first time customer for dinner. We were seated on time at 6:15 pm as I had booked on Open Table. The problem was not getting any food until 7:15 pm. We had to ask for water, ask for a server, and through the dinner had to ask for more mussels. By the time round two came, we just chose to not eat and leave.
Maybe the worst problem was neither the women's or men's bathrooms were operational! There were signs on the doors that said "temporarily closed". I do believe Rocky's should have closed early, explained to each table that there was a problem and offered apologies...even some kind of refund, or at least a complimentary appetizer next visit. I think a manager should have handled this more professionally than what we observed that night. I think the health dept would have shut the place down as toilets in the women's room were full to capacity and not flushing. Ugh.
I called the next day and shared the above with a manager. She did apologize but again, I think she could have offered a glass of wine or gift certificate or partial refund. I simply expected more from Rocky's.
We are Northville residents and have been to Rocky's probably over fifty times. We celebrated our retirement dinners there. It'll be a while before we even consider returning for dinner or lunch. It was very disappointing.
Great time out for my mom’s Birthday.
Rocky's is consistently first class. The appetizer selections are great. The menu items are all carefully prepared and specials are particularly interesting. We go with friends often.
Pricey for the quality of dishes, service not so attentive.
Nothing but fabulous!!! Food is great and service is outstanding. Always something new to try. I recommend it highly.
Our party was visiting from out of town— and found this place listed with great reviews. We were SUPER disappointed with everything.
1. The menu online is NOT what you will see at restaurant
2. The reviews about the service are accurate— service was extremely slow
3. The food was bland, and poorly thought through.
4. Veggies were cold on every plate-
5. Steak was not good and tasted pre- frozen and the presentation was quite”Applebee’s”ish—
Final— hostess does NOT check you in via Opentable if you make reservation through app which is why you don’t receive your points- asked him to do so and he did not know how.
No need to visit this place again
The food at Rocky’s has always been consistently delicious. The filet mignon is to die for because it’s not only tender but finally found a filet that has flavor.
The food was great. Katherine was the most attentive server. She showed the utmost professionalism mixed with the perfect amount of personality. We will go back often.
Met some friends for drinks and dinner. Great time, food was excellent arrived a little early and our table was ready! The service was super.
We went there special for mussels all-you-can-eat and they were out of them.
My wife and I got the lobster shrimp fettuccine in red bell pepper sauce. It wasn’t as good as before. The consistency and flavor wasn’t there this time.
We will try again next week for the mussels.
Went to Rocky's for their all you can eat mussels event. Had a 7:00 reservation. As we walked in at 6:45 I overheard a waitress telling someone they were out of mussels. I was not amused. Still had a good dinner, just not mussels. Waitress said they ordered 100 pounds and ran out before 7. Maybe they should order more for next Thur, the last day of the event.
We went with a group (6) for the special "all you can eat mussels" offered on three Thursday's before Thanksgiving. Last year we had reservations and by the time we ordered the mussels, they were out of them. The manager offered a dessert per couple.
This year, we again had reservations and were planning to have the mussels special. When our orders arrived, we were told that there were no more mussels, and what we were served was all there was.
The manager gave us a credit on our bill for the difference between "all you can eat" pricing, and the appetizer price.
We will not go back next year if it is offered.
Food was great, Service was outstanding. Price’s were very reasonable.
Excellent meal and service. This is why we keep going back.
It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us after we were seated. The waitress forgot my husbands drink & he went to the bar to get it instead. He enjoyed his pork chop meal except our waitress forgot to bring the correct side he had requested. I ordered the short ribs & they were incredibly fatty which was a turn off. Overall, we felt the waitress was distracted & really could care less about us. Needless to say, we won’t return
Very loud in the back room. Took a long time to get waited on.
This was a repeat visit for dinner. Rocky's is a restaurant we enjoy. They did not disappoint this time either. Service was great, food was delicious, portion size is appropriate and they have been featuring Michigan craft brews. Overall good value for the money paid. We will return
Food was just ok - nothing to rave about and I didn't collect my reward points and can't figure out why?
Would recommend and try again!!!
Always a great meal!!
Even though we made reservations 4 hours ahead for our anniversary dinner we kind of expected a nice warm inviting table with some coziness. Instead we were seated at a table for four next to a party for twenty. Seemed loud. When we checked in the host said to another person which I overheard "ok we're screwed" One room had linen on table and we were seated at a table like a cheap chain steak house. Food good but waitress seemed stressed, overworked for her table assignment. But, she was pleasant and polite.
Service was personable, helpful and attentive in other words, outstanding! Food was good but not the quality that I expected base on the referral I received and menu pricing.
We will visit again as everyone has an off night.
Review will be updated after next visit.
