Table was ready and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Service was lightning fast, with drinks and appetizer within 5 minutes. Food was hot and fast, tasty, and portions were generous. Ambience and view from the dining room was great. Entree pricing was reasonable, but drinks and desert can double the bill quickly.
My goddaughter graduated with her Masters last May. She is now a professional counselor in the Tucson school district. This was her first fall break so we celebrated with a delicious dinner plus a beautiful sunset.
The ambiance was inviting and the specialized service was great. My guest needed gluten free bread and the restaurant is already geared up to accommodate those dietary requests.
We'll below Marriott standards. Drink prices outrageous. Steaks not prepared to order. When sent back, one steak didn't reappear for 20 minutes. Low quality choice or select cut steaks being passed off as prime cut steaks with addendent high price. Service was accommodating, but kitchen let the wait staff down. While vacationing at the adjacent Marriott Vacation Club, we always walk over to the J.W. Marriott for dinner, but will now skip the Rockwood. To their credit, however, we weren't charged for the entrees. That was the only good part of the meal.
Service was very good but food was awful and expensive.
Had the Buffet which is served each Friday and Saturday. Food was excellent good selection of sea food, Italian and America. Numerous different options to choice from.
The service was also excellent from a wonderful lady from Italy.
Good choice of beers wines and cocktails. I would recommend and return again
excellent service and well accommodating.. staff are all nice and superb.
The restaurant was very nice we didn’t realize they had a buffet option with a lot of different choices to choose from my fiancé especially loved the crab legs since it was precut for you without the hassle overall very nice!
We came to Rockwood Grill to celebrate the wedding anniversary of some very close friends. After reading the menu online, we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a dinner buffet for $45. As soon as we were our servers introduced themselves and wished my friends a happy anniversary. The buffet was excellent - small batches of each offering so everything was always fresh. I recommend the leg of lamb! The service was almost too good. Water glasses refilled after each sip and plates whisked away while I was chewing the last bite. This restaurant inside the Marriott resort. There were several families dining there, so the noise level was quite high. This just added to the atmosphere. If you want a quiet dinner, this probably not for you.
Food wasn’t that great and there was flys everywhere. I could get a better meal in Vegas for half the price. But the desserts looked cool and tasted great.
Wonderful place for breakfast. Service is always good and the servers work cooperatively together to make sure guests have all they need.
Warning, it may be Buffett only and not regular menu.
My husband and I have eaten at Rockwood Grill quite a few times while staying at the Marriott and we continue to love it. I just want to tell you all if you eat there, get the dinner buffet. It’s not the largest buffet, but the best I’ve ever had. The crab legs are so good and meaty, and the shrimp are very tasty. I loved the
prime rib and mashed potatoes also. Oh my goodness, I’m getting hungry just typing about it. Great desserts also. Yum.
Great ambiance! We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful setting. May be a little too warm to dine outside for many who are not accustomed to the heat of Palm Desert. We enjoyed the lettuce wraps and a chilled glass of white wine which was perfect for the late afternoon snack!
Sat right by bathroom. Seats sink down so much I almost needed a booster seat for me and my husband. Food wasn’t worth the cost
Delicious meal, excellent waiting staff especially the front of house hostess. The restaurant was very quiet so some ambiance was missing however we all had a fab time and would return.
The food was very good, the atmosphere was good, staff was very attentive and helpful. It was an overall great dining experience.
We really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, especially Corinna! Corinna was efficient, followed up with us and made us feel welcome.
Lovely location and delicious pancakes and French toast.
It’s a great place to eat, very nice views. The lunch menu isn’t large but the food was very tasty.
Went for a business lunch and the server picked up on it and was very efficient in taking our order and servicing the table and not interrupt our conversation. This food was fantastic...
Overall, our expererience was outstanding!! Our servers, Elena and Drenana, are always so welcoming and attentive. They did an amazing job - again - this night. We were there to have a small wedding and dinner - they were so excited and accommodated in any way they could.
The crab and shrimp, along with the other selections, were very good. The crab selection did run low and took some time to refill with fresh, cut tails.
Since my wife and I come for the seafood buffet very regularly, we are always promoting this to our friends and family. This night, we brought a few people who had not been to Rockwood before. I shared how delicious everything is consistently and was so disappointed (for the first time ) with the pasta. All four people who got it shared how bland it was. My wife and I confirmed this by tasting it ourselves.
Everyone was so welcoming. The restaurant atmosphere was so beautiful and warm. The view of the lake was perfect especially in the evening. Our waitress was very friendly and very efficient, making sure we had fresh silverware and water throughout the dinner. The food options for the all-you-can-eat were wonderful. The quality of the seafood and meats were very top notch. All in all I can say I look forward to coming back here on my next trip out to Palm Springs!!
Excellent service and very friendly hostesses, we were greeted and seated immediately as requested at the patio next to the lake. Excellent buffet or menus selection with high quality food. Will visit again. Highly recommend.
We didn't have a very good time. The two of us were sat in the middle of the restaurant between two large party tables, which were soon filled...one with drunk adults and their babies and the other with a family of children. This was a 9:00pm reservation. I understand the restaurant cant control their clientelle but as a small 2some, we shouldve been seated along the edge, there were tables avaialable. The waitress was nice and attentive. We ended up going with the buffet but felt like the food was only okay and it was quite expensive. There were many things missing when we went to the buffet. And For $44 having hot dogs as one of the featured items seems tacky and cheap, especially when there's already a section for kids with items like that.
I also needed the services of the feminine product depending machine in the bathroom and it ate the quarters without providing anything. Overall we didn't have a very pleasant experience and felt underwhelmed and a little ripped off.
The food selection is always perfect and service is even better- we make reservations everytime we are in the area and have never been disappointed... the buffet is highly recommended!
Excellent food, service and location. Excellent buffet choices and friendly staff. Definitely will go again.
Amazing buffet for 4th of July
My girlfriend and I went to the Rockwood and were not disappointed. We started off with some delicious craft cocktails. Their homemade bread/butter was very tasty and a nice way to ease into our meal. We ordered the Market Fish & Salmon dishes and they were delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal.
The staff were wonderful and made us feel like EC we were the only guestsvin the restaurant. The food... Amazing!!
Excellent food and service!!
The staff is very attentive. The buffet is high quality, delicious food. A favorite!
Food was so-so. Not the greatest place for a special occasion.
We had two of the best servers that I have ever experienced. Two women were gracious, expedient, courteous, and had terrific table-side manners. The food was wonderful too!
Perfect location- great food. Sit outside and enjoy the sunset!
We were a bit disappointed with the menu. We ended up splitting the special and it was pretty good, but overall, we were not wowed. But I must say the dessert was very good.
Great venue, outdoors was perfect setting.
The atmosphere was cool, but the service was horrible! We sat there for almost an hour before we even had drinks or bread or water!!!!
Terrible dinner place for vegetarians. One option, very bland, lacked flavor. Having said that the staff and ambience are top notch.
Very nice atmosphere, in addition to food and drinks. One negative was waiting staff. They were all very nice and appropriate, but it felt like the restaurant needed about twice the waiting staff that it actually had to run smoother. This meant waiting times were much longer than expected (even waiting to sit for a table with a reservation). The staff looked way too spread thin and that was reflected in our dining experience.
We did the dinner buffet with a group of 7. 2 people at our table got sick from the seafood while we were there.
