   We were staying at the JW so had breakfast here 5 times & did the full buffet. Lots of options. Pancakes were very tasty. Omelets made to order were good, cheese wasn’t quite melted. Wait for omelets wasn’t too long. Lots of different muffins, scones etc. Wish the OJ was fresh squeezed or tasted more like it. My husband thought the coffee was better last year. Service was good. Weather was cooler than usual so we ate inside every day. AC was running when it was in the 50’s outside and blowing on our table, chilling us & our food. Last year dining outdoors by the water was really nice. We learned the hard way last year that on weekends it’s helpful to have a reservation for breakfast.

   The most delicious enjoyable family dinner with our family of 14 including 6 children under 4 years. Excellent food, incredibly fun, quick service and so accommodating and thoughtful for our entire group. Ordered an array of appetizers and the halibut and scallops were delicious. Split the Baked Alaska, and the toffee and the chocolate desserts. Everyone enjoyed the entire evening. Highly recommended

   Scallops and lamb were great. Server was great. However, they sat us in a booth where my seat was not cleaned and had stains of something sticky. Not assuming what it was, but for the reputation and in a post covid era where we wipe down everything and disinfect, this was not expected. It was not a busy night either.

   11:30am reservation so food was not fresh (other than omelet). Selections catered to meat eaters mostly. Chillaquilles had good flavor but were soggy and stale. Sorry, was hoping for a better experience for my daughters b day breakfast 😳

   We had breakfast everyday that we were there! This is a buffet setup and the wait staff is not needed as much so that’s why I gave it less stars. Some of the food is cold or warm. The chef station is the best part, HOT!!

   2 of the main entrees (lamb/chicken) were unavailable so we had to eat halibut and pasta which was not why we booked reservation. Server was incredibly apologetic and wonderful. Hostess told us they had more walk ins than usual come in earlier which put those who made reservations get the raw deal. I can imagine 1 item running out but 2 of the 4 main categories left the menu very limiting. So I would not go back.

    I would avoid this restaurant, extremely overpriced and the food was terrible. Service was very attentive though. The poke was good but then everything was a miss from there. We ordered the halibut to share as we were also doing a salad. I never send food back but the halibut was so overcooked that I couldn't easily cut it. They brought a second one out and it wasn't much better than the first but we decided just to let it go. I ended up needing to eat dinner when we arrived back to our hotel.

    Very loud - employees constantly moving chairs, throwing utensils and plates while customers are eating and sitting around. Impossible to have a conversation. It was almost hilarious that employees are not realizing it.

    There was a very long line upon check in. Fortunately, we made a reservation about two weeks in advance. But we really miss the former breakfast brunch that they had prior to COVID.

    So disappointed. They discontinued their longtime fabulous Friday and Saturday night buffet two weeks ago and didn't notify their reservations. We were so sad. The menu options pale in comparison and also aren't accurate (no olive tapanade on the hummus plate). Servers did their best but the meal was over $500 for six of us. My English pea ravioli was flavorless. Bright spot was chocolate dessert. Will not return. Sad.

    We used to really enjoy the food here , it’s definitely dropped in quality and creativity which is disappointing. The vegan option is so bland . I wish there was more effort out into the creativity and menu planning .

    There was a very big convention going on when we visited for lunch. The menu was limited because of the convention and we weren’t able to order what we wanted. Before we eat here again we will check and make sure there isn’t a large convention. In addition, it was so loud we couldn’t visit.

    I had the pasta with sausage. The spice overpowered the dish and there was no sausage, except for a few bits in the sauce. The bread was good and service excellent.

    Made reservation a week ago… Made me wait. 30 minutes. So noisy we couldn’t talk. Waiter. Serve main course and 20 minutes later came out with appetizer… Never brought our drinks.

    Booked a table for this restaurant as my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Even though we booked weeks in advance, they put us at what I would call a cafeteria style table, one in a middle of many. We asked to be seated in a booth and where they put us was the first thing the hostess saw. I sat down and I sank down so much that I barely could eat properly, and I’m 5’8. The food was amazing and our server was good, but if you are looking for a romantic dinner, go somewhere else.

    I chose the Rockwood Grill after reading a Palm Springs review of best brunch places—and our out of town friends were staying nearby. We were seated in the farthest part of the restaurant with a large party in the same room. The noise level was loud! We did not choose the buffet—maybe we should have? My ham/cheese omelette was good but my husband’s eggs Benedict came almost hard boiled. The waitress gave the impression she didn’t want to be there.

    Food arrived at different times for the three of us. Waiter said soup of the day was vegetable. We didn’t think it was a creamed soup although it was good. Maybe the restaurant was short staffed because service was not great

    We ordered a burger with no tomato but there was a tomato. The other couple ordered a prime rib sandwich with aioli on the side & it was on the bun. Also they brought coleslaw instead of fries & took the coleslaw back instead of just leaving it as I am sure it would’ve been thrown out. The food was very good but communication wasn’t. We also asked if the heat lamps could be turned on but they were both out of propane.

    If I were rating on just the quality of the food and drink, this place would earn high praise. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by absolutely horrible service. The waiter took our order, said he would bring some bread and the then disappeared for 20 minutes. When he did come back to the area, he spent most of his time at a table with three young women, ignoring us completely. When we asked the busboy if he could find out where are drinks might be, he was very apologetic, very helpful and attentive. He did bring the manager, who apologized and said he would comp our whole meal. That was great - more than we would ever ask for. What happened next, our waiter continued to ignore us, directing a waitress to deliver our drinks. Then, another busboy delivered our main course without the baked potato we ordered. Oh, did I mention they never brought us the salad we ordered? After waiting several more minutes, the original waiter came back and we asked him where the potato was. He said they were out of potatoes claiming his manager had informed us of this. He hadn’t. At the end of the meal, our waiter came to shoo us away. We told him he hadn’t even offered dessert. At that point we just wanted to go. We brought us our bill which included charges for the entire meal, save the drinks our waiter said he comped. We asked to see the manager again, but the waiter said he was gone. The waiter didn’t apologize once. Never acknowledged his mistakes or the delays. Just an awful experience that ruined our Saturday evening. If you go, you won’t be disappointed by the food. It was excellent. Just don’t be surprised if your food never comes.

    We had a split wedge salad, Shrimp Pasta, Seared Scallops, plus the homemade vanilla ice cream and sorbet. All was prepared perfectly and wonderful. Our only issue was that we had to wait a bit for the dessert. Great food! Great service! We will return in the future.

    Normally restaurants are too busy during Valentine’s Day and service is no good. This experience was amazing and they were on it. First restaurant I go to during. Valentines that actually did everything correctly. Highly recommend

    I took my wife to dine in at this amazing restaurant on valentines day . The food was absolutely delicious! Waitress was very attentive & always knew what we needed & when we needed it. Never had to wait to ask for anything. Normal weight time to receive food. Great view ! Outstanding place to stay! 100% satisfaction. Will definitely be coming back.
