The staff were so kind and helpful! We hd ordered a dish that had not said on the menu that contained egg. When our dish showed up, it had egg in it. We told our waitress we didn’t know it had egg, and we cannot eat egg. She quickly took it back with ease and said no worries the kitchen will make you another one. Just calmly, she took it back without an attitude or fuss. We were impressed! And she brought back our eggless dish! It was delicious!!
Food was good but didn’t mention anything about our anniversary. Kind of made the experience bitter sweet.
Food was amazing but the service was very slow. Overall a good experience.
Everything was wonderful. We went there for a birthday, party of four, and got 5 appetizers, two noodle dishes, fried rice, the shaking steak and the wild cod. There wasn't a single thing we didn't enjoy. With ordering so many things, you would think that there would be a few that tasted alike, but I really feel like we had nine distinct, delicious plates of food. It's all great for sharing and the ambience is beautiful. You can tell that a lot of care went into every detail, in both the decor and the recipes. To top it off, the service was amazing. The meal was properly paced and empty plates were cleared immediately so even though we ordered a ton of food, the table never felt cluttered. This is a great restaurant!
The décor of the restaurant was great
Food was even better.
Always delicious but today was extra good. Probably have the best kitchen staff Saturday nights. Ribs and coconut rice were amazing. Pork buns were just ok, though.
Food was great. Alan was a great server to our party. Will definitely return when in the LA area.
No greeting from first host. Food excellent. Our server went on break, but the fill in didn't know it was my wife's birthday. Right before we walked out after finishing our meal, our server caught us. She then brought my wife a birthday dessert. Everything good, excellent, except for the initial greeting.
The ambiance is very interesting to say the least. The food was O.K. I love green papaya salad. I found their version not very authentic. My guy was very satisfied. I loved their Three Pot Creme Brulee.
The staff is always very nice and courteous.
We were there for lunch - overall a nice experience - service was very slow though - and we waited for about 1/2 hour just to get the teas we ordered. When I mentioned we were still waiting for our tea to our waiter he said they were still steeping?! And when the teas finally arrived they were all already cold. I guess they over steeped them! Food was good.
When RockSugar first opened we used to come all the time. It was one of our favorite places. I think we stopped going because we didn’t want to face the mall. Friday my now 14 year old daughter was going to the mall with friends so we met her for dinner so we could drive her home. RockSugar is as good as it always was good food great dessert fun ambiance and lovely service. Will definitely go back more often. Glad we returned to our old standby and we weren’t disappointed.
Great food! Great ambiance! Great service! Love this place!
Definitely a gorgeous place to have Lunch or Dinner. It's like dining in a beautiful Asian palace.
The food seems authentic and all dishes are outstanding. The Butter Cake for dessert, is a great favorite with my son and son-in law. The Vietnamese Coffee ice cream is wonderful. We started our Sunday lunch with different appetizers., Glazed Pork Belly sandwiches, Calamari, Pot Stickers, all fabulous! Then we filled in with Carmel Chicken, Cellophane Noodles, and the deep fried Shrimp.
Everything was perfect especially thanks to the amazing manager, Jessica. She was such a joy to meet and attentive to our table. Food and drinks were top notch.
I always enjoy RockSugar as they have creative Asian fusion cuisine. We had veggie potstickers and chicken satay to start and then shaking beef, grilled veggies, pad Thai noodles, grilled salmon with veggies, and a delicious chocolate cake for dessert along with mango and sticky rice. The waiters are always friendly and helpful.
My new favorite restaurant my new favorite restaurant my new favorite restaurant my new favorite restaurant my new favorite restaurant my new favorite restaurant
It’s my must-go to restaurant whenever I visit LA.
Drinks are great as well as food and ambiance.
Very good food. The tea and soup was amazing
Post movie mid day lunch. Great wings as always. Great service. So glad they validate. Will be back.
Nice restaurant with great food. Beautiful decor.
We were put right near the kitchen and almost at the bar. Very noisy.
The food was good tho.
RockSugar is one my favorite restaurants and I am never disappointed with the whole experience. Love the food, love the ambience and the service is great!
A planned treat after watching a good movie, Black Panther, with friends. Good food and a chance to talk about the movie.
Great and friendly staff, really attentive! Food is excellent and good vibe altogether.
Initially we had to wait a bit past our reservation time but we're seated in a nice private area. I am allergic to chicken and unfortunately a lot of the menu is made with chicken stock or fried with the same oil the chicken is made with so our choices were minimized. Our server was great in asking if any of us had any allergies and pointed us to dishes which fit and were great. Overall I would recommend the restaurant and if you have no allergies, the menu is fantastic.
RockSugar is a fun, festive venue for deliciousness if pricey pan Asian cuisine. I’m a fan.
Excellent meal! The service was impeccable.
We loved Shandy.
The spare ribs appetizer was great! And so what the Salmon tartare. Loved the bananas, chocolate, an granola dessert.
I really believe the service we received made the food taste even better! We will be back!
Great Pan Asian menu at very reasonable prices
Excellent experience, great recommendations, wonderful staff
we had a great time celebrating bday and valentines. The food was hot and delicious. Beautiful restaurant.
I was disappointed. The food reminded me of a tourist trap. Nice presentation, but poor quality and badly prepared. I sent my dinner (salmon) back twice before surrendering. Though in fairness, nothing was great, only adequate at best. I wasn't expecting traditional or authentic. I was expecting flavor beyond bottled teriyaki sauce and salt (lots of salt). To end on a bright note, the wait staff is excellent.
Great water service. Wasn’t happy that they would try to bus the table when I was obviously in the middle of a conversation. Food was good, not incredible. Buts a mall restaurant so it was good for a mall restaurant.
Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day a week in advance so we were seated right away which was great. Over all it was lovely and I would go again
We were a party of 2 dining on Valentine Day. We had a variety of appetizers to include Samosa - which were cold and had to be sent back and upon return weren’t much better, they weren’t hot they were warm - we also had Spring rolls that were about the same in temperature as the Samosa, warm but not hot - we also had the Crunchy Calamari which was as advertised, good texture and the accompanying sauces were surprisingly tasty. As we moved to the main event we ordered the Whole Fish which was Bass, this dish was a disappointment as it didn’t taste as if it were cooked as thoroughly as it should have been. For those who know this dish, it requires work and a bit of patience given you have to skillfully work your way around the bones in the fish and I have to admit that my effort wasn’t rewarded with what has the potential to be a very good menu option if done right - I wouldn’t recommend this dish. The service was good and attentive our server did his job well but the kitchen staff let him down. The restaurant was very trendy in appearance but perhaps darker than it had to be. On balance this was a disappointing dining experience for us as we are visiting from out of town. We decided to try this place from reviews we read which by in large were very good, however given our dining experience I wonder what other diners saw that we missed.
Food is great. Would give five stars if they brought back the five spice duck salad.
Valentines dinner was great, food was good quality and service was fast and attentive.
Food is way too sweet....drinks take forever to receive every time we come
My friend and I ate here for lunch. We had vegetable spring rolls which we shared and each had a curry dish. The food was excellent. The service was also very good. The wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive. I definitely recommend Rock Sugar for either lunch or dinner.
LOVE this place!! Although they took away the tasting menu, which was amazing and a solid value, since the last time I had been
The food was creative and delicious and the service was excellent
