Everything was excellent
First time and was very satisfied . We were greeted with a warm welcome from this family establishment and will be back again .
Definitely was not disappointed. Both the food and service was excellent. Also loved the ambiance. Will definitely revisit.
The food was very good and different. We had fish, duck and ribs and bread pudding, all of which were enjoyed. The staff is friendly and helpful. They made great recommendations for food and beer.
This was a very pleasant dining experience! The food was delicious and our server, Morgan, was truly outstanding! We will definitely return and happily recommend to friends!
Great Jamaican food in a local center. I love the Curried Goat, but their Jerk Chicken is great, Oxtail also very good, and the usual Jamaican side dishes. I visit here regularly.
A must visit!! My husband and I went for his birthday. The staff was very friendly, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was exceptional. We'll defintely be visiting again
Rocksteady always serves up rock steady tasty Jamaican food. Ackee sampler is always especially good. Staff couldn’t be more courteous and pleasant. Always a good place dine in or take out.
Amazing experience overall. A hidden gem. Wonderful comfort food.
This is a best kept secret in East Boca. The food was authentic and fabulous. We were so happy to find a restaurant like this so close to home. We were surprised that the restaurant wasn’t crowded but know that’s only because not enough people are aware of this gem. The ribs were my favorite, a unique flavor, fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. My husband had the duck special which was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. The decor is classy Jamaica, feel like your sitting in someone’s living room on the island. Looking forward to returning to try other Jamaican cuisine.
There's an extension of my Nana's Kitchen in Southern Florida. After a long day of business it was good to sit at their table and get the feeling of home. My co-worker is from Iran and had never experienced West Indian food. So, we started with a Sampler Appetizer and he found the Spices and Aroma familiar. To wit, he ordered the Curry Goat and Jerk Chicken combo. I had the Full Escovitch Snapper. The atmosphere is inviting you to relax, almost kick your shoes off. They stick to the business of Rustic, Homemade West Indian Comfort Food. And the Bread Pudding Dessert ala mode with a seasonal hot tea ending the meal on the perfect note. Warning; If you don't have a "Nana who put her foot in it...", you just won't understand how precious this perfect find actually is...
This is our 2nd time there and both times the food was very good.
The menu had a nice variety and jerk chicken and pork stew entrees were fabulous. Loved the personal service. We'll go back and bring our friends.
I don’t understand why this place isn’t busier. Maybe people are hesitant to try something different. This little gem has the vibe of a mom and pop place complete with reggae music while your eating. You could be in Jamaica instead of Boca. The food is authentic and delicious. We had the ox tails and the goat curry and between the food and the music, you can’t help but be in a good mood.
Our experience was pure delight. We bought a Groupon for a better deal but truth is the food was delicious and authentic to Jamaica. The dining room is small, dimly lit (which I love) and decorated with reminders of peace, love and Bob Marley! Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Think our kids would like it!
This is such a gem of a restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. I especially like the fact that there are vegan options. I usually have the Rasta Burger (which is vegan) but this time I did not want the bread. They were so accommodating and made me a Rasta Platter. It was perfect. My husband always has the jerk chicken which is his favorite. He says next time he has to venture out as there are so many other great options.
Great authentic Jamaican food. Nice, cozy and comfortable. Reasonable prices and great service.
Service was very attentive and friendly. Food was very good, we filled up so much on the dinner did not do a good job leaving room for the Rum Cake: next time!!
Bouncin' 'mon! Great authorization good and a fun environment.
Friendly and informative on the different dishes. Good variety
Jerk Shrimp cooked and spiced perfectly. Recommend Red Snapper Escovitch and the Bull Bay pork ribs.
The food was very good! I hadn't tried curry for lots of years due to a bad experience...here.. the curry chicken was very good! So was the jerk chicken..will definitely go back!
Great food, super nice owners. A+
My group loved the food. The flavors were spot on, curries and jerk meats were full
Of flavor but not overwhelming and the side dishes were just as good.
Everyone was nice and the prices were reasonable
Definitely recommend it highly
Food was tasty and provided a good alternative to the regular options. A bit overpriced. Waitress did not seem that engaged in her job and the interests of her customer. Would not go out of my way to go back and dining there met my curiosity.
The food was very good but the service was poor. I recommend they get more than one waitress it was to busy for her. She never came back to check on our table to see if we needed anything else so I rate them 3 stars. There's room for improvement on staffing.
This is not the same place i dined at several months ago, at 8:00 pm on a Friday we were the only diners, looking back to my last trip there, we had table cloths, candle lights, nice decor, attention to detail and live music and the place was full with folks and others waiting to get in. Don't know if the place was sold and under new management or a new chef, but everything was off including the food, ordered crab fritters and it tasted like cod fish fritters.Would not recommend based on my last visit.
We were the only ones in the entire restaurant. There was no parking at all. We have to part behind a plaza adjacent to the restaurant. Server was extremely friendly and accommodating.
wonderful shrimp and scallop curry...came with peas and rice plus plantains..
we shared the jamaican version of carrot cake--it was in cupcake form, served warm and had a ginger flavor..delicious...
Had a groupon coupon so wanted to try it...and yes, we will be back..
Good Jamaican food at reasonable prices. I particularly like the Oxtail and the curried goat. My wife likes the brown chicken in gravy. Jerk Chicken is quite good too. I would not recommend the crab cakes
Food is excellent!
DELICIOUS! Seriously a 10 out of 10. The good was fantastic, the service ruled, and we loved the music. I would definitely go here again!
this place is so disappointing. we asked for three Jamaican specialties and noe were available. Then we ordered oxtail which was inedible and a crab fritter which was terrible. not going to try again.
Apathetic staff . Much of what was listed on the menu was not available including any dessert and alcohol . Maybe just an off day for the place but I had the sense they weren't interested in serving
This is a very good restaurant suffering from lack of patronage. This results in the shortcomings noted in other reviews - a server who was attentive but had not sampled most of the menu and a kitchen that was out of two of the items on the menu. However, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I would recommend the Akee Sampler appetizer, which features the national Jamaican fruit served atop fried plantains. My wife enjoyed the Out of many one curry, which was spicy but not unpleasantly so. Unfortunately, it was made entirely with shrimp as the kitchen was out of scallops, but it was nonetheless delicious. I enjoyed the brown stew chicken, which is very nicely spiced. It was a good substitute for the Brown Stew Trenton, which was not available. The owner gave us one of the items at half price due to the menu outages, which wasn't necessary but shows that the restaurant cares. We plan to return, and hope others will as well.
My only disappointment was that they didn't have any Jamaican coffee for after dinner. This, however, is definitely NOT a deal breaker. There are several things on the menu I can't wait to go back and try.
I just want to say that the food was excellent It tasted so good and it reminded me of my trip to Jamaica 2 years ago. But, we were the only ones in the restaurant and they seemed to run out of everything that we wanted. Plaintains are a side item and an accompaniment to most of the entrees. How do you run out? Publix is right across the street. I am in the industry so I understand that when you are busy you sometimes run out of food. But we were a party of 8, used open table to state that we were coming and as I said before, we were the only ones in the restaurant. And they were also out of 2 other things that people ordered. If my restaurant was literally right across the street from a grocery store, I would only run out of something when the store ran out or the store was closed. We made it a joke and laughed but we're disappointed, but we all agreed that we would give them another try bc the food that we did get was finger licking!
My wife and I celebrated our birthdays here and it was great!! Jake, our server was awesome! He was very knowledgable of the food and had excellent suggestions on what to eat. Couldn't have had a better choice of where to eat and have a pleasant time for too!!!
