ROCK'N FISH L.A. LIVE Ratings and Reviews
Rock' Fish is our favorite place to eat prior to any event at Staples Center. It's nice that you can make reservations in advance so that you're not waiting 45 min to 1 hr for a table. LA Live restaurants can get extremely busy so reservations really help and the food at Rock'n Fish is consistently very good.
Table was ready when we showed up for our reservation before a Kings game. Service was great. Waiter did a perfect job balancing checking in and leaving us alone. My wife didn't love the fish part of her fish and chips. Fries were great! Will return for another meal.
Called on my reservation to indicate I would be late due to LA traffic. Host said I had a grace period of 15 minutes and if later it would depend on availability. He also said they were pretty booked so could be tough. I arrived 30 minutes late so I checked. The women hostess saw my reservation and sat me, saying not that busy. I found it strange that earlier the gentleman indicated opposite and was somewhat rude. Having worked in the industry for nearly 20 years, I understand managing the floor, however, I also understand the value of phone skills and customer service. I will be hard pressed to return to this restaurant as a refund of the treatment AND manner for which it was handled!!! Train your people on phone skills!!!!
Rokin' Fish at LA Live is a great place for a delicious meal. The decor is charming and gives an "Old World" feel. I especially loved that they had framed photos from the LA Kings Stanly Cup wins included in their decor. I even took a couple of pictures. The service is excellent and I rarely had to wait for anything. The manager greeting my table and our food server was literally standing right behind him, waiting to take our drink order. Our food came out super fast and was hot. Everything tasted great. My only slight negative was that my fish was a little chewier than I had expected. I enjoyed my time at Rockin' Fish LA Live and look forward to visiting this restaurant again.
It wasn't horrible but ordered my steak medium and it came medium well. Steak served on top of fries which made fries soggy. Friend said his sword fish was a little dry and overdone but not too bad. Server never asked if we wanted refills on drinks and was unattentive. Overall the amount and quality of food was not worth the money.
After being seated at the table, we did not receive menus or get our drink order taken for at least 10 minutes. It seemed very unorganized. My dinner partner got a food allergy reaction and we proceeded to Staple Center to receive medical treatment.
We were able to attend the game, but the food and service at dinner was not exceptional.
This was my first time dining at Rock'N Fish and it was amazing! My friend and I were attending a concert that started at 7:30 so, I made a dinner reservation for 5:15. We were a few minutes late, but we got seated right away and, that was after standing in a short line of people requesting a table. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you dine at 5pm or later.
The food was soooooo good! The sourdough bread served before our meal....yessss! Warm, soft on the inside, crisp on the outside; we couldn't stop eating it! We started off with Cesar salad and clam chowder, which my friend said was delicious! Our main entrees were popcorn shrimp and the beer battered fish and chips, which was coated in a crisp batter, and the fish was light and tender.... yaaaaasss! The coleslaw was deliciously unique; not your standard coleslaw.
We will definitely be back for another dining experience. We live about 40 minutes east of LA, and this restaurant is worth a drive just enjoy a good meal!
My wife and I were staying at local hotel and needed a place to eat that was close enough to walk to that had a menu that was appealing.Rock n Fish fit the total bill completely. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere! We were very happy with our choice!
Was not impressed with their filet mignon. It was not seasoned or flavored at all. The side dishes were not anything special either. The Hurricane I ordered had a very strong chemical tasting citrus kick to it. Rock’N Fish overall did not meet my expectations. There seafood may be a better option if I ever go back. But definitely not worth the $$$ rating.
We had a fabulous dinner here! The food was delicious, the margarita was one of the best I've had, and the vibe of the restaurant was lively but we didn't have to raise voices to be heard across the table. We arrived for our reservation 15min early and they were able to seat us right away. Our server, Rico, was the coolest, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good recommendations. We go to Laker games often, so we're stoked to have another good pre-dinner option!!
Went to Rock N Fish prior to a LA Kings hockey game. Was running late because of traffic. Called the restaurant and advised them. Got there 15 minutes late but was seated promptly. Food was very good and the service was excellent. Can't remember the name of the young woman who served us, but she was very good.
Food was okay, but service was incredibly poor, one of the worst I've ever experienced anywhere. Slow, inattentive waitress who was either 1) distracted, 2) didn't care or 3) the only server on duty. Any or all of these factors need to be promptly addressed by management.
Busy, lively, & energetic. Food was nothing extraordinary. Service was decent.
The Artichoke appetizer was pretty tasty. But my Rib Eye although tasty was awfully thin.
L.A. just has too many great restaurants. We go out all the time & I have so many choices for cuisine. Unless you stand out & you want to capture a 3 star niche, you aren't gonna make it.
We eat here quite frequently but lately it has not been as good. It was not that busy last Saturday, have seen it much worse, however, our service was not the greatest, very slow. Our server kept forgetting to bring us our water, bread etc. Our food came out at separate times and the last person got their meal when we were practically all done. Our fries were luke warm temp, the salad was dry, we had to request dressing and our dip tasted very cheesy and off. We did not complain basically because our server was no where to be found. I think I will be giving this restaurant a break for a while before we return.
