I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and have usually enjoyed the food and the atmosphere very much. Not so much this visit. It was extremely crowded and more noisy than I expected. We had a reservation and arrived on time. We were seated right away and given menus. We were not acknowledged again for about 15 minutes when we stopped a passing waiter and asked asked to get drinks. Our waiter was obviously handling too many tables and rushed about frantically. Our food was only okay. We had the bucket for two and shared with our third. We had a pitcher of house margaritas which tasted very lemonadey (if that's a word). Our food tasted like it had been waiting awhile. Our bill was over $100 and did not feel worth it at all. I will probably go back eventually, but not on a Friday night, as that may have been the overall issue....just too crowded and way too loud and not enough help.
Just arrived in Oceanside, Nicola was the best. She gave great service.
Slow service, lack of cleanliness, food is mediocre at best, and not worth the value.
Unfortunately the chicken was a bit raw or undercooked
The food was delicious. The service was marginal. The waiter seemed to be preoccupied. Would definitely go back.
Server handed us another party’s check. We had to swap. There was no acknowledgement of birthday celebration that was noted on reservation. Food was good but a little overpriced. Nothing special. Stale serve yourself chips. Had to wait for basket.
We loved Rockin' Baja! We had great food and a fun time! The service was great, and the salsa bar was so much fun!
Eating here has become a tradition every time my family and I are in Oceanside!!!! It never disappoints!!! The food is always mouthwateringly delicious and fresh and the service is impeccable!!!
Waitress could have cared less right out if the gate.
When the food came we had multiple missing or wrong items. Took forever to fix food was cold by that point.
I don’t normally trash businesses on this site but this place for me was a one and done.
Happened upon this place after a long day at Legoland. Had the San Felipe Lobster Tacos and they were amazing. I would highly recommend and would go again given the chance.
So disappointing...not worth my almost $300 bill for just 8 people...will go to Joe’s next time...
It was fine. Service was slow but food is consistently good at all locations. I tried the ribeye tacos and they were really good. We also had our usual shrimp and lobster bucket for two. That’s what we always come for!
The food was great. The dessert was delicious.i would recommend this spot.👍
Enjoyed the ambiance and the service is professional, cordial & happy! Definitely will be back again. Thank you!
LOUD..This location is frat house feeling after rush week. I am all about a party but this location needs and update and a hose down. As far as the food...It was very good.
Great food, great place but noisy. Hard to have a conversation.
The receptionists did not welcome us but welcomed white guests behind us and told them they were sorry for the wait. We are blacks and although we had reservation, they showed us a crappy dinner table in the middle area with high traffic. We left the restaurant and went to eat somewhere else.
I went there for valentine’s day and they were able to accommodate us into an earlier reservation. Food was great and service too (despite of the waitress being too busy)
This was our first time at Rockin Baja in Oceanside and we loved it! The atmosphere and scenery was great. We enjoyed the live music. The food was excellent as well, all the way around the table. We’ll definitely be back!
RBJ is a perfect spot for Valentine’s Day!
My spouse was happy, she did her good food should shake during the entire meal. Service was fast and the right level of attentive. And who doesn’t love the salsa bar! The photographer was a nice touch.
Would not recommend this to anyone. Took advantage to their Wednesday special of Lobster. Lobster was very small and over cooked. To make it seem that you were getting a lot of food, they filled your plate with beans and rice which had little or no taste. Spent almost $50 on terrible food. The only part of the experience that was average was the service by our waitress. Do not waste your money.
Really tasty seafood in a gorgeous harbor view location. Highly recommend!
We did not know the area but wanted good sea food. This restaurant had a good reputation (4.7) on various review sites like google and yelp etc so we thought it was a safe bet. Our first red flag was when the Lyft driver said, it’s ok but I prefer Joe’s Crab Shack... We were not looking for a fried food, chain type place.
When we arrived, it did looked pretty casual and as it was in the harbor, there were a number of other restaurants close by. We should have cancelled our reservation but carried on with Plan A.
We had oysters which were tiny. My husband had a lobster roll which had very little lobster in it, anaemic lettuce and was dripping in a pink sauce which masked everything else. My fish and chips were good.
The server was excellent but overall we found this restaurant to be an over priced tourist trap.
We’ve always gone to Baja Lobster Old Town And took a chance in Oceanside. Service was extremely slow and our food was Luke warm. It was truly a disappointment. We will stick with Old town.
Great seafood and a great location on the harbor. Happy hour specials are great
Over all, food was good but not great. Service was friendly but chaotic. Table was not set up and things were brought piece meal and sometimes by request, i.e. silver ware, shell cracker (for lobster tails). Not bad, just not as good as it could have been.
Our group of 7 had so much fun here! The food was great - so yummy - and really an incredible value for all that we got. Service was friendly and very accommodating. Loved being on the harbor, and especially liked that I could bring my well-behaved pups with me to sit under the table. Not pretentious or fancy, this place is casual, fun, has beautiful scenery and is just overall a great place!
Great food, should not have had chips and salsa with appetizers and full on meals.. Great service.
Stumbled into this place and I have to say that the food was very good and the outdoor experience was excellent. Give it a try!!!
I was in the area because we went to Legoland. Looked online to find a good restaurant with good reviews and good food that was close by. It did not dissapoint,it was about 5 mins from my hotel. Loved it!! I shared the "Big Baja Bucket for 2" with my husband but did not finish it. This would be for about 3-4 people . Also had the Baja Azule margarita with mango(sooooo good)
Good food. Fun time. Service subpar as restaurant was not too busy when we arrived.
In town for a rugby tournament, never been to Oceanside, just sorry this place isn't where I live because I would be there once a week at least. Fun place, great food, great service! Five stars out of five.
Food was great but service was terrible. I ordered $49.99 bucket crab legs and wasn't given anything to crack the shells for a very kid no time then after asking 2 different people once I got them they were cold. I spent a lot of money on cold crab legs!!
Food was ok. Restaurant just seemed not very clear or well organized. Bathroom had a cleaning schedule with zero actions recorded over the entire day??
I went with two other friends for one of my friends birthday. We had a great time lots of fun the food was excellent we loved the salsa bar.. will definitely be going back..
I love all their locations but this one is just perfect when SoCal weather is cooling down. Just sitting on the patio watching the Marina activity is the best. The food is usually perfect and always a great time. This time however the Crab & Lobster was a bit over cooked and very dry, it was still good but has defiantly been better when it’s not so dry..
This place is casual, fun and vibrant. I really enjoyed sitting outside taking in the harbor while throwing back a couple of drinks. My wife loved the food. We make a habit of trying tacos around Socal and she thought the steak tacos were the best she's ever had.
I look forward to this whenever I'm in Oceanside. Food is delicious!! Ambiance is perfect!! The service is wonderful. Gets super busy, wait can be very long, I recommend making reservations.
The bucket of lobster was the best. The place was really in a special spot with great views.
We like this restaurant but will never return to the Oceanside location even though it the closest one. We went for my girlfriends birthday, the server did not recognise the birthday at all and she even checked her ID (showing she didn't really check). Then she sells us on a Cortes for 2 and only brings out a bucket for one. We order a second round and a drink had a crack in the coconut and is leaking all over the table and half the drink goes away, when we can get out server she just dumps the drink in a different glass. Food came out and was good as always, just the whole party was done eating. No birthday anything, no sense of compassion for all of the mistakes made, no discount on messed up drink or even the option of a fresh one. $239 for the worst service and birthday dinner I've experienced. What a shame for such a nice place
