Food was great, portion sizes were big. Sevice was slow, they were very short staffed so drinks to ages to come.Would go again as food was excellent.
Work round the corner and didn't even know about it...I thought it was a very nice meal and would happily go back again. Surprisingly big and the food is unusual and very nice.
Mid range pricing but worth the value.
Oh and the chorizo and Haloumi skewer was amazing.
Good food but service was a little slow. Good location for a business lunch but lacking atmosphere as it s empty!
Followed Tripadvisor recommendations for this place. Was not disappointed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had pre-theatre meal for 9 of us. pizzas are massive. Can recommend the all meat one. Some of our party had sea bass which they said was lovely.
Again fantastic staff friendly not over enthusiastic just spot on.
Great location well finished decor.
For me the menu itself just seems to be missing something. Especially in the main course section.
But would recommend to others.
Rocket Holborn is a great place to eat, easy to book, a step away from the tube station, great pizzas, good wine and staff who care. would definitely eat there again.
Holborn area is not a well known patch for us and we needed to find a good pre-theatre menu early evening. We could not have been more delighted, thanks to other Open Table review too, to have discovered the original high standard of warm service and exemplary dishes from Rocket, one branch of which has changed hands in Mayfair. It was a fantastic menu, full of our favourite combinations - chorizo salad, beetroot salad, generous Rocket fishcakes on a colourful salad, a wonderful lamb dish, excellent wine menu and authentic cocktails to start. What more could you want pre-theatre - we were well looked after and would highly recommend - thank you, Rocket!
My Feta, Spinach & Butternut Pithiviers were delicious; the servers were very friendly; and the modern decor was good.
I must admit that when I discovered that there was only one other lunchtime booking I had my reservations (excuse the pun!). Rocket in Holborn has a lovely atmosphere though so it didn't matter. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was enjoyable and just the right amount for a three course meal. We had a good time and would recommend it.
Lovely restaurant, easy to find, although it was christmas it was pretty quiet. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. The deco is modern and the ambiance was inviting and warm, would recommend this restaurant for a cosy meal for two or group of friends.
Excellent venue with good service and great food. Reasonably good value for money too. Not overly busy of a week-day lunch time so ideal for a business meeting.
Staff were professional. Two salads on the menu, sadly the waiters recommendation had a long hair in it. I didn't make a stink but couldn't eat it either. My friend enjoyed his pizza.
Good location fast service good food. Not too busy. Pizza was good
I've eaten at rocket twice and really like it. Both times it has been almost empty which is a shame but it might be just the time or the day I've been .
I went for my birthday with two friends. They both had the chicken salad and I had the rare steak and chip salad which was delicious. The portions are huge and the menu is very varied which makes it difficult making a choice. The staff are great too and helpful making suggestions on the menu.
All in all a great place and one I'd definitely recommend.
Had booked the restaurant for a hen. But too quiet so had to move on. The pizzas and starters where good. But mixed up the pizza orders. However the dish I had was a chicken salad with coconut roasted nuts quails eggs - however couldn't taste the coconut nor was there roasted nuts, told the waitor he just walked away and brought a bowl of cold roasted nuts and justr left them on the table, and the chicken was too cheery. The garlic bread we requested for was wrong which they had to change, it was parmasan garlic bread without the parmasan, they brought us another batch when it arrived again the cheese was just dumped on top with out it being toasted.no apologies from the waitress just blamed the chef for being new. Wouldn't really go back there for the price we payed. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant.
I've been to several Rockets across London and this one is my least favourite.
We went in the middle of the week and only one other table was occupied. Despite this fact the service was extremely slow. I also think the food has become incredibly overpriced.
This was my first visit to Rocket in Holborn - I have gone to their City location lots of times, and so already had high expectations of the Holborn place. Not at all disappointed. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, and the food was (as always), excellent quality. These things are never cheap, but the bill was reasonable. Great place for a business lunch, as tables are far enough apart to have a reasonably private discussion.
Had a wonderful meal at Rocket Holborn last night. I had the signature rare beef and chip salad and my friend had the surf & turf salad. Both were excellent (as shown by our completely cleared plates). Unfortunately we couldn't fit in any dessert but we will go back to try soon. Also already booked to try out their weekend brunch which looks amazing. Definitely try this place out. The food is excellent, the service great and not overbearing (they were happy to let us sit and chat at the end of our meal) and they kept refilling the tap water bottle at the table without us having to ask. We will be back.
The cocktails were amazing, food was ok again nothing special.
We were made very welcome by friendly staff. The food was very good as was the wine, the prosecco was one of the best I've ever had and I do like a good prosecco!
We were going to the theatre so time was of the essence, they were prompt without rushing you.
I would certainly recommend it to friends.
Great food, nicely decorated, friendly staff, however music was a bit loud.
Rocket has a very large and stylish basement restaurant but its real gem is the terrace facing Lincoln's Inn Fields, giving a good choice of sunny or shaded seating on a warm day.
The food comes in American sized portions, good for big appetite but not quite so good for keeping calorie consumption under control. Service can be a bit erratic, but is pleasant.
Overall, a great place for lunch outdoors on a sunny day.
Stylish interior, good service, cocktail list was fab and food was great. Would def go back!
We went for a pre-theatre meal but thought the food and layout were really good and deserved another visit in its own right.
everything is fine but the smell from bathroom as we just sat outside the men toilet and during the dinner, it wasn't pleasant
It was very quiet at the time...
We required a place to meet for a pre theatre dinner for 6 close to the Strand. Whilst the restaurant was a short 15 minute walk from our hotel, the food and service justified the short walk. The pre theatre menu was well priced and offered various choices, a few people chose meals from the main menu. The food exceeded our expectations, quality and portions. The overall experience was excellent and was great value. We would definitely return to this restaurant again when next in London.
Good pizzas. Bit pricey.
Enjoyed a nice evening here with my girlfriend. We'd gone early so the place was pretty empty and the staff didn't quite seem ready but the service was good for the rest of the evening. The decour was dark woods with feature wall paper. Lighting was a little too flourescent for our liking but fine. We opted for the three course set menu which was lovely but fairly pricy.
A great find, convenient for the theatre. Food was excellent and very good service.
My partner and i spent 2 nights in London and stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant through the Open Table app and what a find it was. We dined early due to a later commitment at 19:30 so it was very quiet, hence the 3* ambience rating. Our waiter was superb and dropped in and out of our meal seamlessly. The food was amazing and extremely plentiful. If we are ever in the area again we'll be guaranteed to return. Thanks again.
For the New Year Eve, we've eat at Rocket Holborn. There was a good ambiance and the staff was very kind.
The food was very good and original. The portion was very large so we have not been able to finish...(doggy bag for the dessert).
Restaurant was very clean and we was quickly served (to go to the firework). The price for the New Year's Eve's menu was a little bit too high for me.
If we come back in London, we'll go one more time in this restaurant if we are near to the restaurant.
The food and service are pretty good and the ambiance of the place is cool. The music is WAY TOO LOUD, especially around the bar area; it is impossible to carry on a conversation. They seem to be forgetting that this is a restaurant and not a club.
Went with a group of 8 friends woo all enjoyed the meal. Excellent service from our waitress.
Music a little loud though making conversation difficult.
I've eaten at some of Rocket Holborn's sister restaurants before so I knew what I was letting myself in for when I booked a last minute table at Rocket Holborn for dinner with a friend. I was slightly surpised that the restaurant was so quiet seeing as it was a Wednesday in December, but I certainly wasn't complaining as the lack of patrons meant attentive service. The food, as always, was excellent and if you don't fancy any of the main dishes then the pizza is always a safe and incredibly tasty option. I will certainly be going back.
We had family visiting from abroad, as I'd been to Rocket before to use their Conference/meeting rooms and the bar area, I was excited to experience a sit down meal.
The staff were excellent, really friendly and well presented. Gave us the perfect amount of time for deciding, some places are to eager to get your order or you think they've forgotten about you, but not here!
The menus both A La Carte, specials and drinks menu are extensive. A very impressive and imaginative cocktail list as well!
The portions were very generous and prices what you would expect for food of this quality in central London. Rib Eye steak only £10 sun-wed as well!
Beautifully decorated venue, large cover restaurant but sectioned off well so you don't feel lost in the large space.
Would definitely recommend. My guests were all very impressed - I look forward to visiting some of the other sites.
Great food, decor and service. Would definately return. Great value for money.
My first visit to Rocket and I was very impressed. I wanted a very quick pre-theatre meal. Service was prompt, the food was great (and in quantity too). Will definitely come back.
First time visiting a Rocket restaurant and I will definitely be returning. Staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Have already recommended this to my friends as somewhere to visit!
Really enjoyed Rocket, Convenient location for theatre, great range of food (although set menu was quite limited so we opted for a la carte). Lovely service and decent portions. A hit!
