When we travel across the state, we always try to stop here
Nice place to dine, but expected more of a Menu. Every Sea Food Restaurant should serve Lobster.
good food and nicely presented; Guinness on tap...woo-hoo
Wonderful deck overlooking the susquehanna! Our server was very friendly and attentive (but not too much) Manager checked in with us to assure we were being taken care of - food was fabulous and we were able to get one of our favorite bottles of wine. Great dinning experience, I would highly recommend.
There is a very large selection of seafood available and all six of us enjoyed our meals very much. Definitely looking forward to going back.
The poor service over shadowed what could have been a nice meal. The waitress appeared over whelmed with a table of 12 next to us. The bus boy made one visit to deliver bread and that forced the waitress to try and box up the other tables left overs, present them the dessert choices, take their order and take the dishes back to the dishwasher.
There was no water or service from anyone once our entrees were delivered. By the time the waitress was done with the adjacent table we were ready for our check.
I've been to Rockbass Grill on many occassions, yet my recent experience with them has me questioning whether or not to return. From poor and delayed service to cold food, this was not characteristic of the times I been before. The serve never mentioned any of the specials, nor did he bring the drinks we ordered.
This restaurant has an amazing offering of fresh fish as well as other delicious seafood. It's very popular. It's on the site of the former Catalano's. We enjoyed our dinners very much. Service were helpful without being overly familiar.
Nicely prepared food. Varied menu. Seafood is very good. I had an item (lobster roll) not generally available on midstate menus. Prices are very reasonable for what you get.
Food ok, prices are high
Food was excellent as always. A great selection.
We really appreciated the kids menu. It wasn't limited to chicken nuggets and pizza but rather was a scaled-down mini menu with appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, desserts, drinks, etc. It made our son feel special.
We also sat outside and the outdoor dining was very relaxed and casual. Our son enjoyed watching and feeding the ducks down on the shoreline.
An overall wonderful dining experience (and the food was great too!)
Loved our dinner (shrimp app, sea bass and crab cakes dinner)!!
I came here with my family to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday. Overall, it was a nice experience. Our server, Brad, was great. He was very personable and attentive. The staff made her feel special with a complimentary birthday cake as they sung Happy Birthday. I don't think its a place for small children unless they have an adult pallet. I had the blackend tilapia with mango salsa. The fish was great, but I didn't necessarily care for the salsa. It came with a seasoned red rice, which I really did not like. It tasted like it was cooked in Old BAy seasoning, very spicy and just not a good taste for rice. My daughter loved the calamari, but not the crabcake sandwich. I would give another try, just without small children.
The shrimp appetizer was great! My husbands seafood mac and cheese was fantastic but my fish in chips was oversized, the skin fell off and it was just a mess.
Not a place I want to run back to.....got the impression that not all their waiters give good service....ours was certainly lacking...the food was average.....being on the waterfront was a nice diversion to the overall experience...the "fresh" oysters were tasteless , but expensive ....too much fat content in overall menu items.....hard to find healthy choices
Service was unpolished this time. Our waitress was new and did not know the menu even after two weeks. She spilled a water glass on table and food service was rushed. appetizers came one at a time at first then main course arrived before everyone on the table was done. Margaritas were watery. Food was good but we had a hard time enjoying it in the midst of the unpolished service. Think will stay away for while.
It is always a pleasure to dine there for both lunch meetings and private dinners.
We've been to this restaurant before and loved it, but Sunday night it was incredibly slow. We arrived at 5:30 and weren't served our meals until just before 7pm. The food was good, but is usually better. Our waitress was rude and very flippant about our wait time. I'm not sure if we will go back.
Very nice restaurant - would return. Food was good. However, took a long time to receive food (1 HOUR). Told the kitchen was slow and backed up. But nice view and nice and friendly waitress.
Love the brunch here, always good & nice portion sizes as well. Although a week prior I had great service from Sharon, & this last time was a fair expirence from the server (Grace). She was nice but all over the place and a simple refill took 10 minutes. I understand she was busy so I'll be back again for brunch. Hopefully next time the server wont be to busy.
Food and service was great. Went to bar for a drinks after dinner, bartenders were slow to get to you and have NO personality. Acted like we inconvenienced them.
The sceney was outstanding. If you want to read through the whole menu, it'll take 10 minutes. The waitstaff was friendly, but not as attentive as I would have liked. I was more than a little put-off when our server began to take our order, then stopped and said she was being buzzed to pick up food from the kitchen for her large party. Really? They couldn't wait 3 more minutes? Everyone in my party seemed to enjoy their food, however I thought mine was overcooked and dry. Great atmosphere, but not worth the money in my opinion.
Overall a good expience, but would recommend if you make reservations online to be sure you review details of your reservation upon arrival with hostess.
Everyone was very nice. The booths can hold 6 people, 4 very comfortably. We had the fish specials that allow a choice between sauces. The fish was very good, but the sauces were enough to know not to order that again. Sauces come on the side so it allows you to monitor how much you want. The crab cakes are full of meat, no fillers or green pepper. They were very good. The menu is large so I will go back again to try other things. I hear brunch is very good so we'll give that a shot. We had a very nice experience.
Very reliable food and EXCELLENT service when Amber Lynn is serving.
Ample portions, delicious! Sweet potato pie is like a dessert. Nice view of river, well kept facility. Thanks for a great early dinner.
really enjoyed the menu, so diverse. had 7 people in my party, there was something for everyone. Our waitress Leslie was fantastic!!
Always enjoy eating here. Excellent food and always excellent service.
Love the food and ambiance. My friend from Fla. was visiting and we went there every daywhile she was here. She loved it!!! My husband and I love the Sunday brunch!
Rice was dry. Fish was not filleted properly. Tails left on shrimp & pasta dish.
Excellent value! One of the top eateries in the area!!!!
The riverfront setting makes this a special place to go. There is a large selection of fish and seafood. Everyone in our party enjoyed their neaks. The wild salmon I ordered was delicious, and it was a pleasant surprise to find that the bed of rice listed on the menu was actually a very tasty brown and wild rice. Dessert portions are vey large, but the peanut butter pie, while good, was not the best I have had. Serivce was generally very good, but the server had to be reminded to bring items in the order.
The Seafood bisque had a great flavor and lots of seafood in it. Our service was not the best.
After we had a waitress finally assigned to us... the experience improved. The blackened fresh catch was outstanding, drinks from the bar hit the spot! Service / organization needs work for a menu at this price. Will give another chance based on the food. Bar service was backed up when we first arrived at 730pm... the restaurant was crowded, but should be able to handle this demand on a Friday night.
i booked a table for my 1 year anniversary at 8 o'clock.Hostess was good and friendly, but we were sitting and waiting for waitress or somebody even to offer us a glass of water nobody come over our table. Some people came adter us and they got theirs drinks already, which is totally insane.ok,anyway we left this place.... ps the only one thing was good its a view
This was our first time at RockBass grill. Excellent service, great view. The grilled Tilapia with Mango salsa and the crab cake was excellent. I would highly reccommend this restuarant
Food is good, service is adequate, good view - good for a nice family night out, or casual night out with friends.
I did not think my meal was very good (with the exception of the dinner salad). I had ordered the bbq spare ribs. They were tough and dry, and the flavor was not very good. Certainly not worth the amount of money I paid for it. Other parties at my table felt the food was just "ok." Ambiance/setting was great, however. Very accommodating to large parties. Quiet, enjoyable dining atmosphere.
food was underseasoned. For $95 and being known for seafood, the seafood was not seasoned and the crabcakes were too "wet" the shrimp were not even deveined. Pasta was too oily. The cod on the seafood platter had no flavor. Salt and pepper would work wonders.
