We had a reservation for 6:30 and arrived a little early and were seated immediately. Our waiter was very friendly and made helpful menu suggestions. We decided on appetizers of shrimp cocktail and the shrimp & crab hush puppies, both were excellent! Our dinners were the steak topped with crab meat for my husband and I ordered the seafood trio of crab cake, shrimp and scallops. Both dinners came with red pot and green beans, all very fresh and tasty. From the service to the quality of the food this place is first class but with a little casual feel. I cannot wait to come back on my next visit to VA Beach and I would recommend for sure ! Oh and the white sangria was super unique and the drink menu selection is really good.
The view across Rudee Inslet slips was very pleasant during our late evening dinner. Service was impeccably provided by Andrew. The dinner and cocktail menu options were plentiful but not overwhelming. The options were available in multiple preparations. We're had blackened flounder and Ben's Bowl. Both were excellent for portion size and flavor. Five stars!!
Food was great, it was hot when it arrived and very flavorful. Wait staff were polite and quick to get what you needed. We have been going there as a group (I usually have anywhere from 10 to 30 people go each year.) This year was one of our smallest groups due to low attendance at our function, not because of the restaurant. Keep up the good work!
We had a wonderful family dinner. This pace was recommended by a local and it was great. I had the Trio platter and my husband had the local catch special. Nothing disappointed. Our server was great and even my 8 year old enjoyed her dinner. I will go back next time I am in Va. Beach.
Service was great and Rockafeller's was a great start to our evening getaway in VA beach. The food was once again exceptional and the new drink specials were wonderful. They never disappoint!
Waiter was not attentive. In his defense he had a LARGE table in addition to our party of 2. Our food did arrive hot after a long wait. Our final drink order was forgotten. Explainations/excuses/apologizes expressed.
For years, this is my "go to" spot for simple, fresh, properly prepared seafood. Beautiful view of Rudee Inlet, good service, good food..........what else could you want? We go often and in over 25 years we have had only 1 disappointment, and that wasn't a terrible situation. We'll be back soon.
Service was fast, staff polite, great view of the water.
We come here every year with the Shriners & we have to come Thursday night for the whole lobster special!!
Awesome food, awesome value and awesome servers. We come here every year! It’s a “can’t miss” place!
Great time as always! Our server was wonderful and did well with our larger party (6 adults, 2 kids). Food was wonderful and enjoyed by all.
We went here for my boyfriends birthday and when I made reservations I asked for wine and dessert to be brought out and we were treated great. Amazing service fabulous food delicious dessert and tasty wine. It was a great birthday and way to end our vacation
I really enjoyed my experience the first time at Rockafeller's. I was waited on immediately, the service was very good, and the food was exactly what I would have expected. I will definitely be going back there.
Have gone there last 4 years since was our tradition visiting Sandbridge.
Wanted to sit on deck but not available ..it was not open.
I had a pasta seafood dish. Absolutely no flavor. Like tomato from a can. My husband had crab cakes
They had filler. Salad boring.
80.00 before tip.
I was a little disappointed because they were out of steak. The chicken I ordered was just okay.
Waitress was very attentive but food took way too long. Booked on open table but had to wait 30 minutes for a table
Host Brian was wonderful. Got a table for us that we requested. Checked in on us at the bar while we were waiting for specific table...above and beyond!
Mahi and Tuna entrees were both delicious.
Corn bread was amazing!
She Crab Soup also delicious !
Only disappointment was they advertised rocking chairs overlooking inlet and when I inquired, the hostess stated they only had benches outside...
We were a party of six and were seated nicely. They did call in advance to confirm our reservation and then asked if any member of our party had any trouble with stairs. We did, and I was happy they asked. We were seated on the first floor. Our waiter was fine. The calamari appetizer was obviously cooked in old oil and was not good at all. My fried shrimp was tasteless. My husband had ribs and they were pretty good. It was very loud. I was very disappointed because it used to be a good restaurant. I will probably not go back.
I’m a local and when we first started to go eat there the food was outstanding but I think they are slightly slipping .
The place is wonderful, service great, but seafood cooked to long. It was dry.
The Thursday lobster special is a great deal. The menu options consists of a little of everything.
Have come here once a year for many years for the Thursday night lobster special. Ambiance and service are still top shelf, the lobsters were not up to the past quality.
I had requested special table for husbands birthday near water. Was not recognized and placed us in a table far removed from a water view.
Excellent service. Food was ok but not amazing. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Unfortunately we were kind of left waiting for food!!! We put the children’s food in as soon as we knew and it took at least 30-45 minutes.
And the adults food...we were left waiting to see.
But I get it, Saturday night in August.
Good place for families and casual dining. Great seafood.
We have had a reservation at 7pm. We waited about 45 minutes to have à Seat. The waiter said there si no more lobster for the weekly special. We came specially for the lobsters!
Very bad experience!
Très belle ambiance et vue sur les quais bonne nourriture une place à recommandée
We always try to get to Rockafeller's when we're in Va Beach on a Thursday night for the amazing lobster special. You sometimes need to get there early before they run out. we had a great table outside on the deck with a view of the marina. Lobster's were great, service good too.
Food was ok but it was crowded with small tables and we were in the fartherst corner served by the bar. There were several flies alive and dead trying to escape so that was quite unappetizing. We got the two lobster special and while we had to crack them ourselves, it took up several plates and much space not leaving much space for anything. It’s just felt crowded and uncomfortable.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We both had the oysters Rockefeller and garden salads. Our server was very nice and efficient. We will be returning soon!
All dishes were fresh an delicious except for the tuna. It was dry and tasteless - nothing special. Crab was especially good
Great seafood! Enjoyed our meal and the staff were effient and pleasant.
Met some close friends for dinner, and we were not disappointed! Atmosphere was really nice, and it was fun watching all the boats going in and out of the inlet. Food was really good, and the variety was welcome.
It was great food was wonderful
Fresh seafood, great price, attentive service,
Part of 6 have a great family experience
I was disappointed in the food; it really wasn't very good compared to other restaurants in the area. The food was just okay - I got the crab cakes and was excited for those. But it was lack luster to say the least and had a bit too much filler. The service was impeccable though...I will say that our waiter was on top of his game and really did a great job.
Great food and Lauren was an excellent server.
We have dined there a few times, and never been disappointed....food and service were exceptional....our server Wesley was great....thanks
