The best. We were celebrating a 39 wedding anniversary and a birthday. We all were very pleased. Thank you
I didnt actually go to this restaurant. My idiot boyfriend is making me do this. He went without me.
Came here for a meal before a movie at Regal on Webster. Sushi was delicious and well prepared. I don't live close by, but would come back to eat before seeing another movie!
Service just fine
Great for vegetarians as well! Just make sure you confirm your reservations with them.
My boyfriend and I went out for a casual dinner date. We had miso soup and two basic maki rolls. Everything was bland and underwhelming. We will not be returning again.
Love the place, food was alright overall good experience.
Good food. Great deal. Server ehh... will come back again.
I would have rated the restaurant higher had the AC been working on this very hot night, no warning though we had a reservation! The food was very good, filling and tasty! I was shocked at the variety and breadth of the menus! If you like Thai or Sushi this is a great place! No liquor license, but the waitress suggested going to the 7 Eleven next door for wine. Would have brought some in had it been written somewhere in the description. We sat in front of the only fan and were cool enough. Service was attentive, the food amazing for this little hole in the wall and the prices were great for the size and quality.
Food is very good, very creative and fun premium sushi rolls. Service was very poor. My son and I were at restaurant for almost 2 hours, restaurant was not busy so assume they had lot of take out or delivery orders? Either way, 2 hours for sushi dinner was laughable. It is too bad because the food is very good!!
We are always greeted with a warm welcome and they have great recommendations!
Great quick byob dinner with the girls before a movie. Highly recommend!!
We have eaten here several times, and can wholeheartedly recommend Rock Wrap & Roll. It is a great choice for Thai food and sushi. The food is always well-prepared, service is always friendly and attentive, and menu items are reasonably priced. And they don't mind accommodating special diets like gluten-free or low-sodium. Plus, it's a BYO, so good for groups and great value. It's a neighborhood gem.
I love Rock Wrap and Roll!!! The food is amazing and very reasonably priced! The staff is wonderful and always cater to my needs! They consistently deliver 5 stars in my book!
This place is located right across from the movie theater my friend and I go to on Tuesdays for half price movie night. It's a perfect, quick sushi dinner with BYOB before the movies!
Awesome specialty rolls!! Super creative and super yummy.
My wife, 15 year old son and myself enjoyed a great dinner at Rock Wrap and Roll on New Years. The service was outstanding, very knowledgeable, friendly and made some great suggestions on the large variety of specialty rolls. The food was awesome, very creative combinations and we loved the plate presentations. It was our first time, but will not be our last. We would highly recommend Rock Wrap and Roll for excellent sushi, great service, and fun BYOB venue.
Excellent
Great food
Great value
Great selection
Good sushi beautifully plated. Thai iced tea was very good as were the mochi we had for dessert.
Great sushi, quality ingredients, great service very helpful staff if your not familiar with sushi. Excellent prices for the quality of sushi that is served. I will definitely be eating here whenever I am in the area.
This was our 2nd time there. The sushi was decent but it appeared the air conditioning was not working as it was excessively hot in the restaurant. Hopefully the A/C is fixed soon!
We LOVE Rock Wrap & Roll. The food is always so fresh, top quality. The owner is from Thailand, so the Thai dishes are very authentic. And very inexpensive. Also, it's a BYO, and BYO restaurants like this with GOOD food are sooooo hard to find.
Ahhhhhmazing! My favorite new sushit spot, hands down!
A group of 8 came in formy bachelorette party. The sushi was amazing and I loved that it was a BYOB. The staff was so kind and made the sushi plates personalized for me to celebrate the bachelorette party, it was very special! Awesome fresh sushi!
The fish didn't taste very fresh, and it was too warm in the restaurant. Could use some music or something to create a better ambiance.
Small little BYOB sushi place, its tough to differentiate yourself from all the other BYOB sushi joints but an open kitchen concept and no cork fee for BYOB is a start.
We went because we wanted sushi and were looking for a byob place. They offered a lot of tempura type speciality rolls which is super yummy, but I do wish there were a few additoinal lighter specialty options. I was not a fan of the TNT roll, but really enjoyed the Samurai roll.
Good for a casual dinner with friends and the sushi hit the spot. For a byob restaurant, I thought the quality met our expactions and I will go again. I preferred Rock Wrap & Roll over Sushi Para by a mile.
I discovered this restaurant when I worked a few blocks away and brought a coworker to lunch.
When i moved to the burbs and my girlfriends and I were looking for a good sushi spot, I brought them here.
We've been back several times now, for girls' nights out, pre - bachelorette party dinner, and group date night.
Tiny but nicely decorated, friendly staff, huge selection of sushi and non-sushi dishes, and BYOB! They even provide ice buckets, and no corkage fee.
Highly recommend this place (and my standby dish, Prikking Pork).
Never anything but a great meal at this local sushi place. High end rolls at lower prices. Owner/service is always great.
We drive by all the time and finally stopped by this Japanese/Thai BYOB restaurant. Went around 6pm on a Wednesday and there was ample seating. Tried their speciality rolls, sashimi and Vietnamese iced coffee. All great!
A few things about Sushi Rock- 1) they don't tell you they will no show your reservation after 10 minutes and remove you from the list. If you care about Open Table's 3 no shows rule- keep this in mind! 2) The food is OK. I was disappointed to find out my $14 roll had a total of 4 pieces. My friend got the volcano roll which was just overwhelming- a normal roll laid flat with all the toppings piled on top. The food is just OK. 3) The seating was tight- we had 3 people and possibly the world's smallest table but that's all we could be given because our reservation was no showed.
Lovely place, expansive menu. Enjoyed the food, almost too many food options for sushi + thai. BYOB is a great plus, for sure, and I enjoyed everything we had. Would def go again if in the area!
I love Rock Wrap & Roll! The service is always outstanding. If you come back more than once, the employees are great at getting to know you. They always have great rolls and have special rolls around holidays. The sushi is very well-priced. I love when the chefs decorate the sushi platters! Love this place.
The food was ok, the service was ok - overall, it was all ok. On our night, there was a big and very loud group in this very small space, which made it challenging to hear anything else, which wasn't ideal. Also, our appetizers came after our food so wasn't super thrilled about that.
I had the best time at Rock, Wrap and Roll! The service was so incredible. All of the employees were friendly and gave great recommendations. The food was also delicious and presented in such an impressive way. I recommend the Godzilla Roll. The BYOB aspect of the restaurant was really fun as well. Would definitely go back here!!
We visited this interesting little restaurant by accident thinking it was really closer to Chicago downtown. The place was small and was about full when we arrived. We ordered some dumplings and sushi and realized that it was a BYOB restaurant. We had to run around the corner to grab a sixpack of coronas at 7/11.
They had some good specialty rolls and visit was all in all pleasant.
Personnel was friendly and helpful.
Sushi was pretty good, and not hard to get a reservation on a Friday night. The location was very convenient to the movie theater and some bars, which makes it a good, quick and casual dinner before a night out. Prices were also pretty reasonable! The layout of the restaurant was a little small, but overall, still a nice dining experience.
Cute little BYOB sushi restaurant with great food!
I had seen this place several times going to and from Webster place and I had always been curious about it, add a need for a BYOB place with street parking and voila! The sushi was great, it's a small place so I wouldn't roll in (hah) with more than 6 people, but for the 3 of us it was perfection. I would definitely return and that's saying something considering the plethora of sushi joints in 1 city block let alone all of Chicago.
I am a sushi snob and have been trying to find a great sushi place in Lincoln Park. I heard that Rock Wrap and Roll was really good and had a big menu with great specialty rolls. I have seen many places with great menus and choices of rolls and have been enthusiastic-- until the food comes. This is NOT the case with Rock Wrap and Roll. Not only is the sushi great quality and super fresh- but they don't chintz on the amount of fish inside the specialty rolls like many places do, but you can actually taste great quality sushi/sashimi. Many places disguise poor fish with lots of toppings and sauces. This is the real deal. And the manager, Sugar, is so nice and takes pride in the quality of their food and it shows. We will be regulars!
