Rock 'n Chair Ratings and Reviews
I love their filet but it's not on the menu anymore.
I ordered a salad with dressing on the side, topped with chicken breast and had to send it back as it was dressed and wilted. The new salad came with tasteless chicken and brown edged lettuce. A real disappointment.
Decent food. A little high priced for what you get. A bit better than average pizza. Mussels Fra Diavolo was a ba bit bland, although mussels were fresh and cooked well. Calamari was solid and included fired peppers and fried olives (nice touch). Decent beer selection and good bar. Service was good. All in all, a positive experience and a bit better than average.
Great meal with a great view of Avalon. Restaurant had been recommended by some locals and we were glad we took their advice. Had an appetizer of cape may salts and entries of crab/risotto and excellent swordfish. Menu included a gluten free pizza for our granddaughter. Will certainly come back next time we are in Avalon.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice but my family asked for the 4 course pre-fix dinners at 17.99. The menu said wine, soda, salad, entrée and dessert. But we were charged for our wine and a soda. I feel like we were overcharged $18.00. I didn't realize it until I got home.
We had the worst service we have ever had a restaurant. We frequent this restaurant a lot since we spend the summer in Avalon. We were not seen by a waiter for 25 minutes. We asked twice if we could get a waiter to no avail. A waiter finally took our order and explained he would give it to the girl who was supposed to have our table. The girl who was supposedly our waitress never apologized or explained the confusion, never introduced herself, never refilled our drinks or checked on our food. Finally when our waitress brought our check we asked her if she was super busy and she scoffed at us an basically ran away.
We let the manager know but will not be coming back to the Chair.
Made reservations with two teenagers . Of course they were late getting to the rocking chair. The restaurant was very nice and allowed us to sit down 30 minutes later. We
loved the food ,loved the service . The bar was somewhat quiet, no music that night they must start later. We had dinner about 7 PM. Overall nice vibe ! have fun at the shore!
had fun... food was pretty good... wait staff had us settle up check twice as they left which was slightly annoying... but overall it was nice to be at this crazy busy spot during the off season and really enjoy it. Guitar singer, Johnny's cousin Steve was fabulous! loved him.
Seated promptly on the porch as requested. Our server, Marybeth, was very attentive and suggested the scallops which were perfectly cooked and a very large portion. During the summer months parking could be a problem but luckily they are open all year. Great spot for an elegant dinner or apps at the bar!
Six of us ate on Saturday evening at the Rocking Chair. They were extremely friendly, great service and terrific food. They even let us bring our own birthday cake and the waitresses help sing. We enjoy the rocking chair for their live music. You will relax and have fun. Have a great time -casual dress
I thought only diner witnesses called people dear. Always feel 100 when I hear this. Realize we were there during Early Bird so entree was decent. First time here since I always heard that it wS a "meat market". Families very evident. People I know coming to Avalon may expect more.
