Rock Lobster Ratings and Reviews
Not happy. This is not the amount or taste of food we are used to getting at a teppan restaurant. First the kids in the other group got all the food. They were 7&10 how much food do you think they will eat. Oh they left most of their food on their plate. In the pic I had eaten some of the rice but the plate was exactly what the chef had put on it. I do not think this plate was worth 26$ at all. The bill for four of us was 171.00. I would not go back or recommend the grill. I might try off the menu. We were so excited to go. What a disappointment. This is the chicken and shrimp combo.
Had a reservation at 7:15pm. They were so busy on Monday, there were a line waiting out the door. No one came to greet any of the guests for over 10 minutes.
Once we sat down the waiter came to us and said they are really behind on sushi. It will be at least 45 minutes wait for food.
That was way longer than we wanted so we left. Should've told everyone while waiting in line
Didnt get to try their food.
If you go, make sure to make reservations
Restaurant was cold. Sat at Teppanyaki table and ordered Filet Mignon but was served steak instead. Chef disagreed and I wasn't going to argue with him in front of other parties but I watched him while he was cooking and observed the protein served to everyone. It was clear which were filet and which were steak. Food was cold. Overall a very poor experience. Price was not worth the service or the value of the meal. Sat at bar while waiting for table and the food and service were excellent. Too bad we didn't stay at the bar.
I made reservations thru open table for teppan. When i got to the restaurant i was told that we can't make reservations thru open table we have to call the restaurant. No where on the website it said you have to call for teppan. So we were told they can get us a table in 30 mins. However, we waited for an hour an never got to eat at Rock Lobster. We went next door to The Living Room and they were great. Good food.
My only complaint was that we requested the tepenaki thru open table and when we arrived they said that they tried to call me as it was booked, but it never said that via open table. It took 10-15 minutes to come up with a solution, but you should avoid that issue in future.
I got a table for 4 on open table there's no option to regular table or teppanyaki. We want do the teppanyaki, the hosted it was nice and said that we should call for it but she would be happy to accommodate us to the next sitting that would be in 30 minutes.
The food it wasn't as good as I was expecting, I had the chicken/ steak combo... the chicken was undercook and the steak tasteless. We are i town for only few days, kind of disappointed.
The tappanyaki grill was way to hot. By the time the food hit the grill it was scorching and burnt the food. The eggs in the fried rice were over cooked. My chicken and shrimp were over cooked and dry. The plating was sloppy as the chef didn't even attempt to keep it in the plate,it was all over the table surface instead.
Maybe the sushi is better. If I go back,it will not be for tappanyaki that's for sure.
The service was very poor. Very expensive for poor quality of food. Ordered a glass of wine for 10 dollars and got less then a 4 oz poor! Waitress was more concerned about male clients at the tappanyaki grill then a family who was celebrating a birthday. Then asked if we would like a birthday treat then charged us for it!!! Very bad experience will not be back and will not recommend to anyone!!
It was a carbon copy of Benihanas. The real difference was the fried rice and overall atmosphere.the atmosphere at Benihanas was more relaxed and conducive to relaxation. The show was a carbon copy of Benihanas. Prices were about the same but quality was lower.
But when we got to Rock Lobster, they had no reservations for us, the "acting manager" was not very accommodating, he just said we should not have used a third party (Open Table) to make reservations. And then the "manager" started letting people in ahead of us, even though they had no reservations either. Finally, the hostess opened up a table for our group of six. the manager was jerky...
First off, it would have been nice to know that you cannot order the entire right side of the menu if you aren't seated at the teppen tables BEFORE you are seated and BEFORE you make up your mind on what you would like to eat. We weren't told this by the hostess or our waiter and were very disappointed to find out after we had decided what we wanted. We were never asked if we had been there before or if we knew the routine. The approx. 5 menu items on the left side of the menu we could order didn't look appetizing at all...but we took a chance and ordered anyway. I'd say "gross" would be the easiest way to describe our meals. We left hungry and disappointed. Will not be returning!
sushi is always fresh! Would recommend sunshine roll and Vegas roll. Service is good, not perfect but better than most places. Food comes out fairly quickly. Took awhile to get check though. It can get a little loud because it is such a small place, when weather is nice would recommend sitting outside for a bit less noise
