Rocco's Italian Grille Ratings and Reviews
Great food and wait service. A large table of 6 people in the middle of the restaurant were very loud and rude during our dinner. Since it was Valentines Day and the majority of the customers were couples out for a romantic evening, one would think the management staff might have been a little more concerned about this issue.
Amazing as always! We've been Rocco's faithfuls for quite a few years taking our daughter with us for most holidays. We are always welcomed with opened arms and always recognized when we walk through the door. The food never fails - consistently delicious. It will continue to be our staple from here to forward! Grazie Rocco!!!
Been there now 3 times for my birthday and probably won't be back. Food was disappointing and service was good although not as friendly. The hostess was great but the owner was gruff to her on several occasions. Didn't care for his attitude. The profiteroles, which are my favorite all-time dessert were terrible, mushy and not. Much of a profiteroles at all.
This was an early, 7:30pm New Year's Eve reservation. Three main reasons Rocco's earned a "fair" rating - 1. Our waitress was dismissive. From her attitude it was obvious to us that she did not want to be there. 2. They were out of the wine we ordered (it's New Year's Eve - stock up!!) and our second choice was opened before we could check the label. It was not the same vintage as was printed on the wine menu. Big mistake, but we did not complain. 3. The meal was rushed. Our main course was served before we finished our salad. I realize that early NYE dinners are often rushed for a second seating but this place wasn't full when we arrived or when we left. I do like the atmosphere and the food was good.
We tend to save Rocco's for special evenings, out-of-town guests, etc. so that we don't lose our appreciation for the place. The food and service is consistently excellent. There is a cadre of regulars that are there from time to time and contribute to that local, comfortable feel. The atmosphere can at times be lively. On this one occasion, there was a large group table that pushed the atmosphere a bit higher that we would have preferred. We are in the holiday season, so that is to be expected in many places. The evening was still very enjoyable. Rocco's is part of Winter Park history, and it has kept its charm and quality as good as ever. A favorite.
This is a classy restaurant. As such, the prices are higher than I customarily pay when I eat out since I usually eat at more basic restaurants. Menu items are a la carte which I am not accustomed to. The service was extraordinarily. I am very discriminating when it comes to good Italian food having been raised on it. Consequently, while I found the food to be good, it was not exquisite. I had ordered their veal scallopini. I would say it was good but not great. I found the sauce to be too finely puréed. If you are looking for a restaurant where you will you will be treated like you are special, this is the place for you. If you are more interested in excellent food at a reasonable price and are not that interested in ambiance you might want to try somewhere else.
I love dining at Rocco's! We always start in the bar with a specialty cocktail served by Mark, and then move into the dining room for an amazing meal served by Alex. I love when Rocco personally checks on us to make sure we have everything we need. And on occasion we'll tell him to surprise us and he'll create a special entree for us.
I'll be back next week with my boss who is coming in from Seattle. It's a great place for a business dinner too!
First time visit, will not return. Two people in our party had over cooked chicken, and my
special pasta dish was over priced for the portion. The service was fair to poor, and our
table location was terrible for having a reservation. The restaurant was very empty, except
for the bar area, which was loud and located near our table by the main entrance.
