Rocco's Italian Grille
Rocco's uses the freshest meats, produce, breads, special sauces and imported pastas that are the heart of fine Italian cooking. The result is a diverse culinary experience, offering a taste of favorite dishes selected from each region of Italy.
Two of us ordered sea bass. It came inside orzo in little tiny pieces hard to find. We would not have paid $25.00 for sea bass flavored orzo. One of us had a veal chop. It was very fatty. Service was very good. Tomato soup was good. Caeser salad was average. Owners were friendly. Atmosphere was appropriate.
An Orlando favorite. Been coming here for 15 years and have never for a moment been anything but delighted and impressed. Rocco makes you feel at home. One of the top three Italian restaurants I have ever patronized.
Busy night but no excuse for the miscues. Appetizer special did not come prepared as advertised. Apology from the waitress aside, the fix was knocking $2 off of an $18 appetizer. One of the entrees , a special, came with the wrong special pasta and then at a higher price than the waitress said. Took forever. Not their best night.
Rocco's is always a wonderful dining experience. Service is impeccable and they always make some great recommendations. Lots of authentic menu items, elegant comfortable atmosphere and great entertainment.
Dinner before concert at Dr Phillips Centet
Have to give this restaurant lots of credit- it was a very pleasant experience. Service was truly outstanding and food good. Would go back if I was in the area again.
Sea bass was fantastic. Veal a little tough. Usually more tender. Overall one of the best restaurants in the area.
Reservations especially on the weekends are recommended as it’s small and in high demand. Food is great and extremely fresh and unique.
Had to wait at the bar at first however the bar was really nice. The food was excellent the ambiance was perfect.
A very enjoyable evening and wonderful dining experience.
The hostess was rude and disrespectful, but everyone else was very friendly and the food was excellent.
We ate there Valentine’s Day 19, we were seated in the back room . Looked like an overflow dinning area, no windows and hot. Service poor, lack of waiter availability. Portions small, overpriced for food received.
Would not recommend this establishment, items on menu not available.
Have been going here for many years and still one of our favorite restaurants.
We love Rocco’s. Thanks
This was my first time visiting the restaurant and it definitely will be my last. My friend and I ordered a seafood dish and it tasted lovely, however, the lobster specifically had a foul smell and taste. We told our waiter that the lobster was bad and he was apologetic and went to get the chef. The chef came out with an attitude and after rudely speaking to us, he snatched the plate from the table and stormed off. Shocked by his behavior, we remained calm while speaking to him. The chef then came back to us moments later to accuse my friend of eating all of the lobster on her plate. We calmly explained to him that there were 2 pieces on the plate and only 1 was eaten. He then barked back that there are 3 pieces of lobster with every dish and stormed off again. He was very aggressive in his manner with us and extremely rude. I will never dine here again and I recommend that no one else dine there either. Once we left, we saw numerous reviews on google of how rude the chef/manager was to guests in the past. I have never been treated this way at any establishment and I am appalled that they are still in business with a person that doesn’t have customer service skills.
While i was thoroughly impressed with the food and the service from the waiters was excellent, I did have a problem with the seating arrangement. I had booked a reservation for 7:30 and when I arrived I was told there would be a 5-10 minute wait so I could just sit in the bar while I wait for the table. I did not get seated until around 8:15 and did not even get seated in the restuarant area, they put me in a booth at the bar. I dont see the use of having a reservation service if I couldve just walked in and sat at the table I was seated at instead of being thrown in limbo with the entire seating arrangement.
First review I've ever left for a restaurant, I am a server in fine dinning and I have been blown away by the service standards Rocco's hold up. Nate, our server was informative, professional, and far from intrusive. The ambience paired perfectly with the amazing food that did more than impress. Btw, the tiramisu is the best I've ever had in my life...
5 stars to the gem rocco's!
Great food! Classic Italian restaurant. Terrific service.
The best things that we noticed on our first visit to Rocco’s was the server Dean, the bread and the friendliness of the staff
The food was not as good as I hoped. It tasted fine but I was hoping for very good authentic Italian
The olive oil was very light and had no taste which made us wonder if it was mixed with Canola Oil. They do put roasted garlic in the oil which is a very nice touch. We asked two times (main server and another server) for extra virgin olive oil and just got more of the light yellow oil.
The food took an extremely long time to come out even though we were there well after any rush. We didn’t see any other food come out for maybe 15 min or so and yet we waited about 40 minutes, or more, for our meals.
The veal special seemed to have been cooked in a deep fryer like fried chicken. It had a strong vegetable oil taste and very little red sauce for a veal parmesan dish.
The lasagna tasted nice with a decently prepared ragu but was limited in layers, had either no cheese or so little it was not detectable and there was no ricotta which I think is key to a great lasagna.
The Caesar salad was very bland and unremarkable. I think they could do better by creating a new and homemade dressing and getting some really special shaved parm or Romano cheese.
This restaurant has lots of potential, feels cozy and classy at the same time, and has a passionate server in Dean but could build upon what it already has by pushing the limits on quality of ingredients and preparation
Consistently great food and service. One of Orlando’s best restaurants!!
My new favorite Italian restaurant in Winter Park. My first visit after years of driving by the restaurant. Wish I had gone sooner. A friend recommended it awhile back, wish I had gone sooner. Traditional Italian, Great wines by the bottle. Wish they had a better selection by the glass. I had a seafood stew - grouper, lobster, clams, calamari and mussels...excellent. My wife had the chicken parm, also very good. She only had half of her meal so I enjoyed the leftovers the next day (very good warmed up.) Already looking forward to my next visit.
First Visit Amazing....visited for second time this past Sat. Food was just warm not hot or fresh. Zero Value....$40.00 for veal chop prepared as Veal Parmesan with extra small portion of cold pasta and Marinara. The Veal chop may have 6 to 8 oz butterflied and pounded out to appear much larger.
Mother in-law who we recommended this place to had the Lobster Ravioli with poor uninspired plate presentation...again just warm with only a tiny bit if any of lobster.
Wifes Grouper special was 3 small pieces of Grouper and cold vegetables.
The Arrancini app was cold bland and flavorless.
After wonderful 1st visit this was truly disappointing and will not be back.
160.00 for 3 adults and one child.
Oh what can I say. We waited 20 minutes for a reserved table, were seated, and the waiter didn't show up for another 20. We put in our first orders at 8:30 for a 7:30 reservations. The food was completely underwhelming, the service terrible, and the waiter questioned us when we left large portions uneaten on our plate. Not going back there again.
Another wonderful dinner with attention to detail in every way.
Never had a bad meal-delicious from start to finish
The staff was friendly, attentive and informative. I arrived earlier than the rest of my party and they sat me and made sure that they took a cocktail and water order from me prior to their arrival.
The food was wonderful; homemade caesar salad dressing and their special veal ‘Rocco’ dish was delicious and different; the desserts were fantastic: Tiramisu; homemade cannoli and chocolate lava cake !!
There wine list is extensive as is their cordials, cognacs, scotches etc; The cappuccino? One of the best I have ever had and had to have a second!!
You can miss the location if you drive too fast! The restaurant front is not much to look at, but once in the back to see the inside and outside seating with quaint white lights decorating the patio, it is authentic with
an old country wine cellar feel.
Definitely will be back, as their menu is full of wonderful dishes from appetizers to desserts!!
Do your Italian side a favor and try it!!!!!
Food is incredible and we have been here several times. This last time we ate in bar and the service was not up to standards.
This was my second time coming here for a business dinner. Chef Rocco created his own special authentic Italian meals for us. It was incredible and took us to Sicily and Tuscany. This restaurant is great for any event or gathering. Wonderful experience! Excellent food and wine!
food was just OK, our server acted like we were bothering him !!
food not cooked the italian way. Need to use olive oil, cook pasta the right way
food is too greasy
This is one of our all time favorite restaurants! We’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Family owned gem with the owners always recognizing regulars. They still make our daughter feel special every time we show up. If you’re looking for five star food, quaint atmosphere, and a special place to go on a special occasion or even whenever the mood hits you this is absolutely the place to go! Buon Appetito!!!!
Best Italian we have had on our annual trips from NYC to Orlando. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Something on the menu for everyone.
Wonderful evening filled with great food and attentive service.
Best Italian food in the area, by far.
Rocco himself greeted us! The food was outstanding and the service was GREAT! We felt it was a TAD pricey, but other than that, had a wonderful meal! Will definitely go back!
I thought the food was just okay... being born and raised from New York I've been to many great Italian restaurants over the years but tonight's dinner was just dinner nothing spectacular about it. I had the chicken parm and my wife had lasagna Bolognese and it was not extraordinary it was passable for a quick bite. We were coming from a show and we made reservations for here before we headed back to Port Orange. The reason we made the reservations here was because of the great reviews it had and the proximity to Orlando, definitely don't think they deserve the stars that they have on OpenTable.
Would I go back? Probably not!
Open table showed only one reservation available and there was only one other couple there at 5 pm. The bone in pork chop was to die for-similar - wry hard to find that dish!
Very friendly staff, including Chef Rocco. The ambiance reminded us of Tuscany.
Had a wonderful, intimate date night. Very enjoyable. Best Corbonara this side of Italy.
Always consistently good food and service.
Every time we ate in town we try to make a reservation at Rocco’s
