   A friend recommended that we go here. We had read that the chicken marsala was amazing so we HAD to order that. Fantastic! We also ordered the gnocchi with a creamy cheese sauce. Yum! 5 stars! The eggplant parmesan was also very good. The three of us decided that the only dish ordered that was just average was the pasta bolognese. In addition, the bread was very hard and scratched the roof of my mouth. It still hurt the next day. We have been searching for excellent Italian restaurants in San Francisco. This one left us very satisfied. Mind you, it's not fancy. It's comfortable. We had great service, very friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.

   I can't say enough about Rocco's Café. It's always my go too place. I especially love them for breakfast. The wait staff always remember people and always up beat and friendly! You must try their Crab Cake Benedict or Roccos' Favorite Fortata, the best!! Now make a reservation, get off your computer and go!!

   I had never been to this restaurant and picked it from previous reviews. It was exactly as described. A quaint little place on a nothing to look at street not to far from the Orpheum Theater where we were seeing a show. I couldn't be happier with our experience there. We were seated right away and served drinks. The waitress came right over and told us about the specials with enthusiasm. She was very friendly and welcoming. The menu has a nice balance of familiar and unique choices. I went with a classic lasagne. It had to have been the best I've ever had. The food is flavorful but not overly ambitious. Classic flavors with the chef's own touch. I will definitely return to this establishment on my next visit to SF. I would highly recommend going.

   Haven't been in sometime since we no longer live around the corner - everything is fresh and homemade by Don - amazing! And the prices are very reasonable!

   When I booked a room for my cousin at GOOD HOTEL on 7th Street, I asked the desk clerk for a recommendation of a before-show restaurant. He said that he'd grown up in the area and loved Rocco's. After checking out their (excellent) website, I booked it and three of us had a fabulous time Wednesday night. I spotted the owner as we entered, and he welcomed us with a big smile, showing us to a long table in the front corner window. Our server was absolutely terrific in every respect, as was Francisco, the waiter who delivered the food -- he admonished us not to each too much bread, not to spoil our appetite for the dinner to come! Our fried calamari was perfect, as were our pasta dishes. We loved the food and the ambience... even though I live across the Bay, we'll be back!

   By no means a fine dining establishment, Rocco's Café is the definition of a Neighborhood Gem. It's nostalgic atmosphere, Italian comfort food and staff that are warm and inviting make you want to spend your evenings talking with friends over a plate of pasta. The staff doesn't push for you to over order and for us, even told us that the two plates we ordered along with the calamari appetizer would be more than enough for the three of us and she was right. f If I'm looking to kick back, relax, and feel at home, Rocco's Café is the place to be.

   The waitress was very accomodating with my pregnant wife and was friendly and pleasant. The food was delicious! Had to take half of it home, the portions were very generous. While we only went there because it was near our location and OpenTable recommended it, we will definitely go back in teh future.

    I reserved there because Open Table said it was good. In the future, I will not trust Open Table.
