Service was spot on. The food was amazing and had the right balance
Outstanding food from appetizers to dessert. Service was spot on and we had a very enjoyable lunch. Will go out of our way to visit again when in the area.
We love Rocca's! You can always count on good food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Wonderful people and delicious food. Ambiance is very romantic and soft.
Rocca is an outstanding restaurant on the Peninsula near the airport.
They have great specials and wonderful pasta.
Service is very good.
It is not cheap but it is cheaper than similar restaurants in San Francisco.
It is a good value in my opinion.
I ate here with my family... mother, husband and 3 children. It was fantastic!! I can't wait to go back! We all loved our meals, butthe ricotta ravioli was perhaps the best! So simple, and yet so delicious!
Birthday lunch for a friend
One of my favorite Italian places in the upper Peninsula.
Great people, food and place! Enjoyable anytime they are open.
Rocca is one of a few neighborhood restaurants that is very good to go for a nice tasty meal. Although parking can be challenging, the food is very consistently good with some of the best service on the Peninsula. You will enjoy the bistro feel with comfortable seating.
The servers were clearly rushing us through the meal. Every 5 minutes someone was coming over. No time at all to enjoy the meal as every time we took a break someone was coming over to ask if we were done. It felt like a fast food restaurant. Food good but will never return bc of service
Food was solid. Service was professional but lacked warmth.
This was the perfect setting for my mother's milestone birthday. The food was delicious, and the service was spot-on.
Great food and great service. Conveniently located near SFO hotels. I love this place!
The food was excellent, portions were perfect, service was excellent. Suggest going on the earlier side for dinner as it does get noisy the more crowded and later it gets. Great place, we will be back!
A surprise lay over at SFO led to us having dinner here. Great, lively restaurant just 15 minutes from the airport. I'll visit again the next time I'm in SFO.
Service was dis-jointed. The server took orders, and much of the meal was then handled by others.. a common practice now, but not much to my liking. I consider the interaction with the server as a part of the whole experience and I miss that. The setting is very old school, and that was great. The ambiance is certainly there. A halibut dish was over-seasoned and had to be sent back. The replacement dish, not halibut, was very good and reached the table quickly. My veal was tender and well seasoned. Another veal dish was reported as bland. I found the vegetables bland and not quite done. The guest, whose veal was bland, said the same thing about the other items on the plate. We were there on a Monday, seated at 6:30, and by 7:30, the place was full. So, in spite of the short-comings we found, they must be doing something right.
This is one of my go-to spots in Burlingame. Good food and service and never disappoints.
It was amazing ❤️
Great food, great service. I highly recommend this resturant.
Excellent quality food and service. Good value too!
We had the bruschetta and several pastas. The food was very standard Italian fare. The beer list was quite poor, extending to Coors light, Stella etc. There was much Italian ambience but it seemed all very old school. Service was OK on a busy night, sometimes we had to wait a little bit too long.
The food was terrific, and all of us ordered something different, including a selection of appetizers and desert. A good wine list to select from and an informed waiter who could suggest a wine and food to pair it with. The service was exceptional. A totally delightful dinning experience for us.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! I felt like I stepped into a restaurant in old Italy.
Authentic in every way!
My first time at Rocca - the tortellini were really good (and I was raised in Italy)!
Our service with Roberto (?) was phenomenal. The food was fantastic as well. Great dinner!!
The service was excellent. We had plenty of time to order and the wait time between items was excellent. We did not feel rushed even though it was one of the busy nights-Valentines day. Everyone from the bus boy to the waitress to the manager is kind and welcoming. We had the crabcakes, beet salad, Caesar salad, lamb shank dinner and the halibut. For dessert we had the tiramisu. Delicious!
Overall a good restaurant. However "sauce" used on veal and steak sandwich caused the meat to be a little dry and not as tasty as it should have been. Service was excellent but server was
not all that friendly.
Went here to celebrate my Mom's birthday before dropping her off at the SFO airport for an international flight. The food was great and the menu options were extensive--it was difficult to choose what to order because everything sounded so good!
We took our two aunts who are in their 80s & this restaurant was perfect for them. The calamari and the raviolis were delicious, but my husband was less than thrilled with his linguine & muscles. The restaurant was quiet enough to carry on a conversation & the service was attentive but maybe too quick to take away your not empty wine glass. I would go back if I lived closer to Burlingame.
Really lousy experience. Calamari appetizer was awful. Overdone, chewy to the point of hardly edible, all breading, little actual calamari. Worst I've ever had. Also had gnocchi with pesto. Bland, almost no taste whatsoever. I ate half of it and then wondered why I ate any of it.
Sercice was attentive to an agonizing extreme. Every two minutes they wanted to clear something, Wondered if we were finished. Like they could hardly wait for us to leave (which actually we couldn't). Through all the attentiveness, I had to ask for more water, more wine, and more time to eat!
Place is also extremely noisy.
I'll never go back. Ever.
This is my third visit to this establishment and I have enjoyed it every time. Get food and great service. Perhaps a bit dated decor but I love everything else.
What a lovely find! Rocca has a great setup with plenty of booth seating. The wine list was great and varied. Our salmon was grilled perfectly and the bread was delicious. They have gluten free pasta as well!
We were celebrating our daughter's birthday with our 3 1/2 year old grandson and our waiter was wonderful, including him in the ordering process, bringing him his "drink" and accommodating him with a smaller glass to avoid spilling, offering him ground pepper and grated cheese for his pasta. He loved being included.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening - the food was fabulous & our waiter made it that much more special.
We would highly recommend Rocca to everyone that enjoys food & great service.
Fabulous Birthday celebration we were 6 women. Lovely round table so we could all interact. Special attention by the accordion player which we all enjoyed! Food was SUPERB! Service was outstanding! The Lady Hostess with the long dark hair always great! Everyone was very pleased.
Very good food, marred by spotty service and noise. Needs a better wine list and better selction of premium liquors.
The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful; I really liked the ambiance. I also liked that it was quiet enough that I could have a good conversation. They have a nice variety of choices on their menu and the dish I ordered (ravioli Bolognese) was very good. Pricing seemed slightly on the high side, but not too bad. The service was adequate, but the waiters seemed a bit standoffish to me. All in all, I found it a very good venue for my business lunch and hope to go back to try more things on their menu.
Rocca's is the real thing when it comes to traditional Italian cooking! Loved the calamari, veal scallopini, spinach and tiramisu!
Food was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely!
We attended for a birthday party. There were two children under 3 in our party. They were very accommodating with a high chair and room for the stroller, not disturbing other diners or wait staff. Cocktails were well mixed, fair portions. All food from salmon to gnocchi was hot, served not in a hurry and tasty veggies and potatoes as escorts. Wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Will go again.
