We come here once a year during our vacation as a special treat. Service is top notch - they don't miss a beat. Food was exceptional except for the Caesar salad which was OK. Beautiful room with a spectacular view of the Old Course and clubhouse. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you Daniel and Christopher for a wonderful evening!

Found this gem on our last visit to St Andrews. Took my wife's mother for her 83rd birthday. Requested a table at the window overlooking the 18th green for her. Spectacular view accompanied fabulous food! Scottish Beef Fillet with the clever chef's twist and very rich Turbot were excellent. Service is efficient and professional but not over-bearing. Would absolutely recommend to my foodie friends. Maitresse d' is classically scottish - matter of fact but warm if you engage. Don't miss the Chocolate Ganache and Souffle deserts.

The atmosphere and view of Rocca are splendid. The food was divine and the wine recommendation was perfect. All this made up for the disappointing seating arrangement. I booked my table one month prior and when I arrived I was told I had the best table in the house to view the 18th green. However, the corporate party that booked their table 24 hours prior got to hang out 45 minutes later because of the playoff so we were forced to take a table on the other side of the restaurant. This was our last day in St. Andrews and I booked it for the view. Shame on Rocca for allowing corporate power to impinge on the little guy.

We came to Rocca to celebrate end of term with our son and his friend. The room was attractive and the view of the golf course was beautiful. I mentioned in advance I was gluten free and was directed by the staff my dining options. I ordered the scallop appetizer and I must repeat this is a single scallop appetizer with a few Granny Smith slices and a pansy flower for garnish. Pretty plating but Meager portion! The other 3 guests had the pasta ragu which was tasty and much larger portion. 3 of us had the beef fillet for dinner with mashed potatos and bone marrow and a vegetable. The beef was a very small portion and the potatoes were about the size of of a single tablespoon. My husband had the lamb entree with 2 minute lamb chops about 1.5 inches each in diameter and one was grizzly. None of us felt full and I actually left the restaurant and ordered a Thai red curry dinner to eat to fill me up. The rest of our guests filled up on ice cream at Janettas. We would in no way spend more money on dessert. The service was slow and our entrees were delivered at different times. Our waiter was aggressive and officious. We were never asked if we enjoyed our meal and it took 25 minutes to get and pay our bill. 330 pounds not well spent. We frequent Michelin star restaurants worldwide and are used to paying for quality and we will not return to this restaurant

the food was genuinely very flavoursome and varied and exquisitely prepared. the waiting staff were not enjoying their job and we were ignored for 10 mins after arriving before someone came to take a drinks order...which they then got wrong. There seemed to be a lack of organisation with all staff doing a bit of this and a bit of that with no one taking charge of the service and keeping an eye out to ensuring smooth service at all tables for these prices. We did repeatedly notice that waiting staff would come out of the kitchen with 2 plates and immediately have to go back into the kitchen for some reason as if they didn't know where they were going etc. They all seemed pretty stressed and unhappy at their work and some of them have somewhat uncomfortable / over familiar or awkward social skills. Better restaurants would know who was having the fish dish rather than arriving to say "who's having fish?" Our table was short of wine glasses at first and our white wine glasses were removed before the bottle was finished. The ambience was pleasant though and the food is really very good indeed. If the staff were better trained and supervised this could be one of Scotland's best restaurants, but it is not that yet despite the obviously very able chef.

We spent a weekend in St Andrews and were delighted to be able to book a table in this esteemed restaurant, post Masterchef. We were not disappointed, and whilst the portions are definitely of the fine dining size, the food is simply stunning and every mouthful was a revelation! We will definitely be back!

Came here to try Jamie's Professional Masterchef-winning menu. It was excellent. Beautiful situation overlooking the Old Course of St Andrews and out towards the beach. Started with a selection of home made breads whilst we waited for the starter. The starter of Abroath Smokie Veloute with crab was excellent. The main of sirloin and short rib beef gave an insight into different cooking processes. Finally the dessert of lemon meringue was amazing and although the basil sorbet didnt do it for me - it was still full of flavour and delicous - just not with lemon meringue!

made very welcome, felt pampered, nice atmosphere, for those who have not been before it would be helpful to be made aware of alternative menu.. Didn't notice any disabled access to the front of the building.

I booked Rocca as a special treat for my son 13 who is already a keen chef and masterchef fan. We were not disappointed. After the initial surprise of having a child, albeit a very sophisticated one, the waiting staff were exceptional, incredibly helpful and accommodating. We had the masterchef tasting menu which was fabulous and a real treat. As a coeliac I can say that staff took every care to ensure I was ok and the rhubarb soufflé was out of this world. Thanks to Jamie for being so kind as to have a photo taken with my son and Sven. Overall a very special night.
