Great meal and service! The atmosphere is outstanding.
On a very busy evening, Joseph was very attentive and made sure our evening was truly enjoyable.
We were ignored, not by our server, but the kitchen staff. Apps and entrees delivered together. Cracked a tooth on walnut shells found too late which were in my blue cheese salad. Serve4r seemed new and was an apologist for the ignorant kitchen
Third lunch in a row here which was unspectacular. Ironically I had dinner at Robust the night before and it was wonderful. (Client picked this restaurant for lunch that morning) Lunch here almost seems like an afterthought as if they are not trying.
Perfect spot to celebrate my friend’s birthday! Excellent service and they even had complimentary champagne waiting for us. Our friend group will definitely be back!
Our waiter was amazing, informative, and attentive. The Oregon Pinot Noir was a true find.
We had a small gathering for our anniversary and each guest/couple were attended to as they arrived. We will be back!
Haven’t been here in a little while. Don’t get out much with a young child. So finally getting a sitter and a chance for a date thought we would go somewhere we used to enjoy. We were not disappointed. Everything was great just as we remembered
We requested a table on the outskirt of the restaurant to accommodate our stroller; we were offered the “private” room as there were no other reservations during our timeframe. The service was fantastic, food was good (orange ginger cream brûlée was really good), and wine pulled it all together. Everything together made for an exceptional evening!
I have had lunch here several times with co-workers and friends. Onion soup has been added to the menu and it's the best I've ever had. I hope to get an opportunity to try brunch and dinner in the future. Great atmosphere.
I've eaten at this place 10+ times over the past few years as I do a lot of business at the America's Center. Always a solid meal and the service has always been good. It's on the pricey side but worth it. Really interesting menu and a great wine list. There aren't a ton of restaurants like this in the immediate area so it's a very good option.
I am always skeptical of dining in a hotel restaurant but Robust was a very pleasant surprise. Great food, great wine list and great service.
The staff was great in explaining everything, and did well to accommodate when they were out of one of the menu items
Wonderful dinner of cheese platter, enter, and great wine. What more could anyone want?
Great waiter and food. Walked right in to our table.
The crab cakes and beet salad were delicious! A fun atmosphere, too
We were very disappointed with our dining experience @ Robust on Thursday night. The waiter was extremely inattentive, never stopping by to see how our food was or ask us if we wanted more drinks. We tried asking 4 different people for refills on our cocktails with no luck. The soup of the day was described as chicken & rice, when it was in fact chicken tortilla soup. Although it might have had rice in it, the person in our party that ordered it would NOT have done so had she known it was chicken tortilla, so consequently she didn't eat any of it, but still paid for it. I ordered the beet salad and the camembert, but waited a very long time for the cheese, after everyone else at the table had their food. The waiter offered excuse after excuse as to why our beverages took so long and why we couldn't get refills in a timely fashion. After asking for our check and waiting for the waiter to return, we finally sought out a different staff member to pay our bill.
Really great experience. Wine flight was really fun. The charcuterie and cheese samplers were perfect and the flatbread was great. Really enjoyed it.
Third time I have eaten lunch at this restaurant, first time very good, second time fair, this time poor. The special of the day was a Beef Panini with cheese, grilled onions and a side of au jus . The amount of beef was minimal, think 2 slices of thinly sliced Buddig Beef per 1/2 of sandwich. And the beef was very fatty. The restaurant did not cut off the fat, and it was a lot of fat, not a sliver. There were 3 of us on a business lunch, both another person and myself ordered the Beef Panini and we were both dissatisfied. Server brought us the check and did not off offer us dessert, two of us wanted dessert. We just left.
Let me just say, if the Panini we ordered was ordered from a sandwich shop at a strip mall per se, the sandwich shop would be out of business in a month. The restaurant has a decent ambiance and a good location in downtown St. Louis, the food is the worst I have had anywhere in downtown St. Louis by far. Go to Copia, go to Sugarfire, don't go to Robust.
We were in town for a few days for a conference and were happy to find this place very close to our hotel. Wine was good, food was great. We really enjoyed it and thought the service was really good too. Would go back if I'm ever back in St. Louis.
Service was great and food was excellent. I like the downtown window setting. The wine flight was a nice twist they have. Great way to sample different wines.
Fantastic service and wonderful ambiance! Would return again And again!
Our waitress, Kate, was one of the best servers our group had ever encountered. She was kind, funny, attentive and was overall excellent. We will be back!
Had a quick bite to eat before conference session. Had to wait for more than 1/2hr just for a bowl of soup and salad. Good that I went early.
Excellent wait staff. Food selection was good and prepared expertly. Relaxed open seating area still allowed for some privacy. A bit pricey but worth it. Would go back for any special occaision.
This was a birthday celebration and the food was awesome, as always. Great place for lunches and close to work.
Had business meeting - noise level high for group discussion.
Variety of items for lunch menu although the consensus ordered salads.
Not impressed- Very small even for lunch salads; had the steak as a topper, cold and not very tasty. Heard the same about the chicken.
One of the worst in town. Don't go. Slow and indifferent service.
It was a very pleasant evening. The food was excellent
We need a trip downtown from the suburbs to eat at Robust. When we arrived, the host went to seat us at a hightop table. We indicated that we didn't wish to sit at a hightop, and he reaccommodated us, but at a table that was up against the wall with basically no view of anything. This was disturbing only because there were several other tables available in the restaurant, and even when we left after completing our dining, those tables had not been filled.
I would love to give a 5* review however the experience during restaurant week was just ok. Of the 3 courses, they were out of 2 of the 3 and had "I'm not sure" substitutes - as in the server wasn't sure. The kitchen was understaffed (we were told) and we couldn't order for 30-45 minutes. We asked for bread or anything to nibble on and were told no. We finally suggested nuts and our server gladly brought us some. Our table was great and the atmosphere was perfect for our group of 6. I do not recommend during restaurant week but defiantly another time. The bottles of wine we consumed were delicious.
all three Restaurant Week courses were delicious, paired with great wine and dessert. thanks for great 1st visit! 😎
The food was really great! However, the service was super slow and there were only like 3 tables in the place the entire time. I probably won't be back unless forced to go.
The food was outrageously good and the service stood up to the challenge. The music was perfect to fit the mood. We live in Cincinnati and I would drive back here just to be able to return to this restaurant. We had our young children with us and they did an excellent job accommodating us (no mac & cheese but wouldn't expect that from a wine bar).
Great place to have wine and food! The steak was over cooked but the waitress took it back and brought a new one out that was perfect! When I recieve the check not only did they comp my entree they also comped the app which I would have been more than happy to pay for both since the steak was cooked right the 2nd time.
Great food. New server with no coaching so had to check on everything. Out of lattes and caps - only regular coffee!
The food was ok, not great. Two steaks were over cooked and one entree was salty. The dessert seemed to come out of a box. Server was good, not attentive or knowledgeable about the menu. This place was recommended by the CVB, I took customers here and will not be returning.
The service was excellent our waiter went above and beyond...thks
This is a great little find in the heart of the Washington St. district downtown. Good selection of wines and excellent pairing suggestions. Great place for a girls' night or a date night.
The food and wines were good, not exceptional. Several of us ordered beet salads. One person realized they had left out the green beans and half of the greens. So as compensation the waiter brought a small plate of plain green beans! It was rather odd.
We enjoy this restaurant and its sister in Webster Groves. Always have imaginative yet approachable menus. Wine list always has some new surprises and is priced fairly. [There are many restaurants that just gouge you on the by the glass purchase- not Robust. This is a great place to experiment because of the different size pours they offer.]
We ordered Chicken Confit Hash and the Steak & Eggs Tartine. Flavor and presentation on both were great. Some of the beef was on the dry -overcooked side. Chicken has done perfectly - but a little too spare on portioning.
Regardless of those issues, we would return again.
